Wedding gown change at the reception

Hi ladies. How do you think about the idea of changing into a different gown at the reception?
If you would, when do you think is the best time to change? Start of the reception? Mid way?

it's fun. when i attended a friend's wedding recently, the bride changed her gown before part 2 of the reception program, after the guests had dinner and during their games portion. not much was done during part 1, just the host welcoming everyone then dinner started right away :-)

Sis, does your bridal gown have a second look? Why not use it muna on the first half then midway, change again sa reception gown.. so parang 3 different looks!

the couple just slipped out of the ballroom during dinner time...people were too busy eating to notice ^_^

Ako naman main reason ko to change is gusto ko sana magpalit ng suot kasi di ako comfortable dun sa wedding ceremony attire ko. Sana nga i-allow ako na mag-change.

Concern ko din to before.. Short ceremony program lang kasi kami and ayoko sana magchange agad sa second gown ko before the reception pero no choice. I changed to my reception gown agad before the reception kasi ang couple's dance namen and ang father-daughter dance ay modern dance. Mahirap naman magmove kung mahaba yung train ng gown ko.

If you dont want to change kaagad best time is during dinner time. yun lang hindi na talaga kayo makakain.

Gown transformation is okay! I was told by designers (on my hunt) that they can literally sew you in your gown to change looks for the reception, after-party, etc!

I might not get a second gown bec I will really invest on the first (and only) gown. Haha!

My bridal gown will have a second look too sa reception.. although my couturier is offering to make another gown for me pero of course.. cheaper na.. good offer though, but im not keen. tamad ko pa naman

I opted to have second look na lang ng gown. nanghihinayang kasi ako sa price ng gown kaya gusto ko sulitin pag suot.

Initially, I was planning on having a 2-in-1 gown to achieve the second look without breaking the bank. Imagine ko yung natatanggal ang skirt. Plus, I'm in awe when designers are able to do this wonderfully

So, the timeline was 1 look for ceremony at lahat ng pictorial around the church and then another look for the reception. Pag dating ng venue, mag-ayos na agad for 2nd look, magpictorial, tapos start program na. Hati ng airtime hehe para pantay ang photos at videos. I also don't want to leave mid-reception kasi parang sayang ang time saka sandali lang yung 2nd look.

The HMUA also needs to be considered here because of the rates or time constraint for them to complete the 2nd look.


I ended up being lazy then just having 1 gown haha! Got a lot of features and compliments on it so no regrets

2 in 1 yung gown ko. as in tatangggalin lang yung sa baba then 2nd gown look na sYa. But on the day Di ko na natanggal yung sa baba ko. Halata kasi sa 2nd gown na malaki puson ko haha!

Having 2nd thoughts on this kasi sayang naman ang gown kung hindi sulitin na masuot in a day. haha!

I opted not to have a wedding gown change during reception kasi we have a limited budget. Nagkaron na lang ako ng second look for a change (from messy hair up do naging curly na hanging freely). But if I will have one sa grand entrance of couple ko ito isusuot.

hi sissies!  For me naman, I have a reception gown that I will change into during the second part of the program. Sayang kasi the bongga gown for the ceremony, I'm sure there will be people who don't go to the ceremony but only go to the reception because they are lazy. So for the grand entrance and first dances I will still be wearing the church gown, then in the middle of the dinner I'll just slip away nalang to change! H2b will also be changing into a different color vest and bowtie at the same time. hope this helps!

hi sissies  i decided to change my wedding gown sa reception kaya hindi talaga ako gumastos ng mahal sa wedding gown ko more ako sa reception gown kasi mas magagamit ko sya after my wedding... i buy Emperio Armani for my reception gown

I'm planning to change my attire for our after-party.. still thinking if i should have a custom one made or buy na lang somewhere. any recos on where to shop for nice/elegant after-party dresses? ☺ thanks mga sis
