« on: February 02, 2015, 12:04:08 pm »
normally kasi we just put it in a container and throw away, kaso feeling ko hindi ito tama. is there a better or correct way to do it?

Ganyan lang din ginagawa ko sis para hindi magbara sa sink. Dapat talaga separate ang paglagyan ng mga garbage collectors at may proper disposal sila

Actually tama yung ginagawa nyo, putting it in a separate container before disposing. Pero what you can also do is ilagay nyo pa sa plastic yung pinaglagyan nyo ng used cooking oil para sure na walang tapon kahit pa magbaliktad yan sa basurahan.

ako, nilalagay ko din sa plastic microwavable :) kaso pag hindi ako naghugas ng pans..minsan nag clog un sink so what i do.. if may soda sa fridge i pour it sa sink OR use baking soda and vinegar .. so far effective.. natatakot kase ako sa liquid sosa or muriatic acid e :)

Better to put cooking oil in a plastic, nakakapag pabara lang kasi sya ng sink kapag dineretso mong ihulog.

Thanks for your tips! I'll provide a plastic container so doon na lang isasalin ang mantika for disposal.  Sometimes, we have to provide these things because maids and sometimes our kids and husband just pour it down the drain.

There is a tin cookie jar where the cook always puts in a plastic supot (the supot is folded up and out over the rim of the jar). . All cooled non-reusable cooking oil go there. At the end of the day, the supot is knotted shut & thrown.

The  cook wipes off any remaining oil on the pan (this is done for all pans) with a kitchen paper towel.  I don't regard the kitchen paper rolls as  unnecessary/additional expense. It minimizes grease/oil that goes down the drain; saves manpower  time & dishwashing liquid on cleaning pans; & prevents the headache of clogged drains.
