Just found out that Shakey's in Makati Cinema Square will undergo renovation from Feb15-March15. I hope they finish as scheduled, and sana mas ok yung resulting layout for parties.

booked QC Ave branch, medyo disappointed lang ako. We went there lunch time, i told the manager na kakain lang kami then afterwards pag usapan na namin yung tungkol sa reservation and party. He asked me what date and time, pagcheck niya sa booking calendar nila, available pa. Ang choice ko kasing time is 1-3pm. after we ate, we sat down and found out na na-booked na yung time na gusto ko. Minutes o hour lang pagitan. Nagalit talaga ako. kasi ilang beses ko siya kinulit na akin yung slot na un, ang reason niya hindi lang naman daw siya yung nagbu-book ng party. Ang sabi ko dapat na-coordinate with other manager kasi kung tutuusin nauna talaga akong pumunta sa venue. Pagwala daw contract kasi not good as booked na un.. hayyyy

Anyway, nagbooked din ako same date but 4-6pm na. Dati pala pwede customized yung package ngayon meron na silang good for 30pax , 60pax and 100pax. kinuha ko yung 100 pax which includes

10 Monster Deal
8 pcs shakeys card - 3,992 (hindi pwedeng hindi kasama)
250 pcs + 50pcs free token - 2,500
Amenities : for 30 kids (loot bags, invitation, name tag, tarp, balloons - di ko alam ilang pcs ilalagay sa table)
Free Giant pizza 32"
Free 2 Grandslam pizza 18"
Free party Hosting

Total = 35,992.00

Thinking kung pwede kumuha ng balloon decoration and backdrop sa iba, baka mas makamura? Medyo pricey ba yung sa leny's?

Hi mga mommies since sa QC kami nakatira ang 2 option ko sa venue is Katipunan and Q.Ave, if im not mistaken my funzone itong 2 venue na ito no? Dami ko kasi nababasang negative feedback sa Q.Ave regarding sa pag plan ng events nila. Pero mas spacious daw kasi sa Q.Ave.

Okay lang din ba sa Katipunan? Di ba sya masikip for 100pax? And talagang may corkage fee ang photog at even cupcakes? kahit give aways lang naman?

sis saiwai, mas spacious ang QC ave. and YES! lahat ng party add-ons mo na hindi nila ka tie-up may corkage na 1k, diyan din ako disappointed. Take note per service ang corkage, balloons - 1k, facepaint - 1k, photobooth - 1k etc. Di ba too much?! Kaya I"m planning to cancel my reservation

Unlike sa ibang fastfood na venue wala silang corkage fee kapag hindi naman kakainin

^yes sis. kahit display lang like backdrop, entrance standee, balloons etc. Tapos yung cake and cupcakes kung magdadala for display only.

Mahal nga sa Leny's tieup nila. Just did a comparison with one of a party supplier in my area. Nakaka disappoint. Tipid nlng.

dreamworks, sobrang pricey sa Leny's. nagpaquote ako sa kanila same services sa gusto kong supplier, almost double ang price nila. Imagine yung pwede mong matipid. Very disappointing talaga

@sis sexy_07 - kinuha mo pa rin ba ang Leny's? Hindi ko pa nga gusto ang peg nila for the decor kasi puro styro backdrop tapos rental lang pala yun. I am now contemplating if mag change venue na lang ako or kung lunukin na ang corkage fee.

@dreamworks - hindi ko kinuha ang Leny's. di ko din type ang peg nila, specially the backdrop. Naghahanap ako ng venue ngayon. Pero kung wala akong makita since nakareserved na ako, tuloy ko na lang then kukuha talaga ako ng supplier sa labas, i dont mind paying corkage. baka after party mapakiusapan. saang branch ka? when ang event mo?

@sexy_07 - sa Katipunan branch ako sis. I just called them to inquire about cake/lootbag tables, sabi kasi nitong Leny's may additional 2,500 pa para sa tables na peg kong isetup (na hindi pa rin naman nya ma-achieve) pero ang sabi ni Shakey's saken na nagpo-provide daw sila ng two tables para dun for free, so bakit may 2,500?

Then I asked them also kung si Leny's ba nag set up nung isang baptismal event na nasa FB ni Leny's  kasi kakaiba sya sa mga nagawa nya, sabi ni Shakey's na yung ibang balloons daw talaga Leny's but everything else is DIY na. Kaya nag iisip ako na kuha lang ako ng konting balloons kay Leny's and all other decor will be from another supplier...

Nakakainis lang to think na expensive na nga ibabayad mo sa mga outside supplier pag dating pa sa Shakey's branch may corkage fee pa So doble doble na ang payment T_T

Pati ba ang cake sis pag sa ibang supplier may corkage din yun?

Things I liked about Shakey's in Makati Cinema Square:

1) It's the biggest Shakey's party venue midway between the north and south of Manila.
2) The staff were polite, attentive, efficient, and accommodating. They were all quick to respond to my requests and those of our guests. Jai, our party coordinator, was very patient with me and was overseeing everything.
3) The main dining hall is square-ish, has a fairly high ceiling, and has an elevated space surrounding the center where some of the tables and booths are. This meant that everyone had a clear view of the program (save for a few pillars). This made the party space seem less crowded but still intimate.
4) We were able to use the TV monitors to show the slideshow/AVP.
5) Jai, our party coordinator, was also the one who provided the balloon decor. I just sent him my pegs, he gave me a quote, and good to go na kami. I loved the balloon decor! It matched my theme perfectly, and it was so hassle-free!
6) The only corkage I paid for was for the photobooth. No corkages were charged for my DIY decor, photographer, videographer, Nestle Ice Cream Party Package, cake and dessert buffet, or outside host with sound system.
7) Since my guests were late, we extended a bit over the agreed time. The staff didn't rush me or my guests, even when we were packing up, and they didn't charge me for the half-hour extension. I guess wala rin naman kasing event after ours, but still, I appreciated it. A few of our friends even stayed with us for more kwentuhan over leftover pizza and chicken.
8 ) The food! MMD: chicken, mojos, different kinds of pizza, carbonara, spaghetti. Plus the free picture-worthy giant pizza which we also attacked... Need I say more?

Things I'm not raving about:
1) The makati routes and traffic. Well, Makati Cinema Square is not exactly easy to get to, plus the building itself is old na. The Shakey's resto itself is ok,  it's just we really had to compromise on the location. As I mentioned, we needed something big midway between the North and South of Manila.
2) The heat. I guess mainit lang talaga sa Pilipinas. it was still kind of warm at 3pm even if the A/C's were on full blast. But around 4-5pm when it was cooler narin outside, malamig na sa loob.
