Eto pa masaya sa pagiging oDesker/freelancer: hindi mo kailangan makipagsabayan sa crowds at traffic kapag Labor Day weekend, Holy Week, Undas, and etc. Kapag nagbabakayson ako, ang luwag ng daan, tahimik ang resorts, at mura ang mga fares kasi off-season!

May nakita pala ako kotse ngayon na may oDesk na sticker. Parang tatlo na ata nakikita ko. Madami na talaga tayo

^True sis. When I went to Lake Sebu last year, I just used my pocket wifi para magtrabaho. Sayang kasi ang sahod.  Nagpapaalam lang ako kay client na i am in a remote place para di magtaka kung magkakaroon ako ng internet connection issues. I'm thankful lang na very understanding mga naging employers ko.

Mas bilib pa ako dun sa mga cars na may oDesk stickers kaysa dun sa mga may "Royale", "Alliance Global", and etc. na stickers hehe

Na shock din ako dito sa transition of name. Very sudden biglang nakareceive nalang ako ng email from them na nagbago na name...yung theme pa ng email sounds like oDesk is non existent. Walang tribute to it or whatsoever hmm. New CEO din. I wonder what happened...though hindi na ako gaano active sa oDesk kasi ang kunat na talaga ng ibang contractors don. And too much competitors from India...

I started with oDesk three weeks ago and now I am on my third assignment from my very first client It's not as complicated as it looks. At first I really don't have any idea how to start so I downloaded oDesk Manual right here https://d1u2uhea8ugy8e.cloudfront.net/odesk_contractor_manual_2013.pdf.
First thing you have to do is to set up your profile. This includes uploading a profile picture, selecting your own hourly rate and writing a catchy headline to describe what you can do (ex. Travel Writing). You can also showcase your best work samples in your portfolio, in my case I used my personal travel blog. It is also important to take several oDesk skills tests, though in my case I only took around three tests. Once your profile is done, you can now apply and get hired!

Regarding qualifications, it depends on the type of work. Usually when you view a job posting, it will be specified there.

^sis for me ok naman sya altho madalas mag hang yun upwork team app. Ang gusto ko lang sa upwork may search box na dun sa tasks/working on memo nila so hindi na kelangan magkaduling duling pag scroll hehe and kung ano lang yun assigned sa yo or sa team mo na tasks yun lang lalabas unlike before na kasama pati yun tasks ng ibang team. Pero yun nga lang sakin ang hassle sa kanya is madalas mag hang sa laptop ko
