musta ang rates ngayon?  haven't tried applying in a while.  currently, i only have 1 part time job, thinking of applying na ulit kahit na mga fixed rate jobs lang. not sure if i can handle a regular part time job pa kasi since i have a " day job" pa and i also have a daughter na inaalagaan pag nasa bahay ako. i'm also thinking of raising my rate sa future applications ko kaya lang baka walang tumanggap sa akin at last time i tried applying, sobrang pababaan ng rate ang mga tao.

One reason I'm taking a second look at oDesk is because I heard there's already a minimum hourly rate of $3/hour. That's P27k/month if you get a regular work. Many will now compete based on skill and not based on less than a dollar per hour.

Besides the minimum $3/hr, I heard the escrow facilities for fixed rate jobs has also been implemented.

I remember reading about this frequently requested escrow feature by many oDesk freelancers where arguments became highly heated and emotional. The merger of Elance and oDesk surely brought many improvements.

However, I fear the presence of local country managers of oDesk here could pave the way for the BIR to easily tax freelancers like they do in the US. I just hope they will not give out past income generated details to the BIR in the future. That would give the BIR the evidence to come after high earners who did not or were not able to pay any taxes in the past.

Hi odeskers. Started working at oDesk 2009, then 2010 up to now working full time 50hrs a week for one employer.

Hello. I'm new to Odesk and at last there's an employer from New York who contacted me and accepted me for the job. It's my first time and I have no idea pano yung attendance, etc.

I'm working din kasi and balak ko siyang i part time job. As per my contract 25hrs a week yun and same time lang siya sa regular work ko. I work at night 9pm-9am and yun din yung time sa odesk.

Sabi sakin yung work is more on Tech Support and email based lang naman. I work at night pero not a call center type naman. Email support din and we are allowed to bring cellphones, tablets and even laptops sa office. Yung laptop, not sure pa pano yung set up kapag hindi naman work related ang gagawin. Pero yung tablet naman nadadala ko and nagagamit sa loon ng office.

Magiging conflict kaya to sa work ko? Ang sabi naman sakin e kapag may natanggap akong email from customer asking for assistance, I have 24-48hrs to resolve it naman and its not necessary naman na nasa harap ako ng computer all the time. And if 25hrs a week e 5hrs a day ako dun sa Odesk work ko...

May mga nag wo work ba dito sa Odesk as Part time lang din?

^hi sis! i also work sa odesk ng part time, but yung sa akin flexi time. no set number of hours and wala ding sched. i just do the month end reports. so bale, kahit what time ko siyang gawin and kahit gaano ko katagal gawin, okay lang kay client basta need ko ma-deliver monthly sa date na si-net niya.

sa case mo, may set time kasi si client na conflict sa "day job" mo. not really sure, kung paano yung magiging diskarte diyan. malamang patago mo yang gagawin or during your breaks if ever. kasi pwede kang masilip ng office mo na paid ka nila during your working hours so hindi ka dapat natanggap ng part time work during said hours. since email naman, baka pwede mong sagutin after work or before work? or baka pwede kayo mag-set ng agreement ng client mo na flexi hours ka mag work but you have a deadline king kelan mo dapat masagot yung emails.

^ Thanks for answering my question sis. So far wala pa naman na discuss about the said job. Sinabi lang sakin na yung office hours nila sa NY is 8-6pm which is gabi dito. But she said naman that it doesnt mean that I should sit in front of the computer for that long. I also verified If I can use my tablet since I bring it with me all the time and she said that i che check daw niya sa IT Dept kung kaya i set up yung remote access.

Btw, ano yung remote access sis?

Hello sisses. Im new sa Odesk. Nagttry pa muna ng tests and been backreading. Im eyeing the virtual assistants posts that they have. Im working 9 pm to 6 am and balak ko sana na part time odesk. Anyone of you na nagpart time, mas ok ba na flexi? Ano posts ang mas ok sa sched time ko?

^ Thanks for the reply sis. Where can I download that app? Kasi im on online self training and she said that paid ako dun. I do it sa work ko so kailangan ko siguro i download din yun sa tablet ko.

^you can download the time tracking app from the odesk website mismo. not sure lang if it will work sa tablet kasi hindi ko pa nasubukan yun.

^ and ^^ oDesk Team will work in tablet kung ang OS nya either Windows or Linux. 3yrs ago, konti pa lang ang tablet pc na may Windows. Mostly android OS or di kaya masyado pricey yung Windows tablet. Worth it naman yung nabili ko. Siguro naman ngayon may mura nang tablet na may Windows. Though hindi ko pa rin ipagpapalit yung tablet ko. Up to now maganda pa rin at saka handy lalo na kapag nagtra-travel ako.
