Part time na lang ako nag-fe-freelance, lipat ako sa corporate world.

Why?

Daming obligasyon! Saka hinahanap-hanap ko na rin ang career movement ko. Tutal high school na ang anak ko, tapos magka-college na in a few years. Dagdag gastusin na at mukhang di ko na makuha sa freelancing ang mga gusto kong mangyari.

Pero ayun, di ko din naman masabi. Things could change naman, you know. Malay natin ma-meet ko ang special someone ko at kailangan sa bahay muna ako kumareer. Pero sa ngayon, move forward ako.

Hope all are successful sa mga odesk gigs nila.

Just wondering. Marami ba rito ang exclusive lang sa odesk kumukuha ng clients nila? Or kumukuha pa kayo sa iba pang sources at isa lang itong odesk sa mga pinagkukunan ninyo?

^^sagutin po kita. mabuti naman po. nahihirapan mag-adjust ng working time pero kakayanin.

malakas pa. One aim ko this year is yung magpapayat at kumain ng healthy foods. Though wala naman akong sakit pero kailangan watchout sa body. 

Exclusive ako sa oDesk ever since though meron akong account sa Elance at nakapag-apply na rin. Pero most of my clients are from oDesk. Palagi kasi nauudlot kapag nag-apply ako sa job posts dahil nagkakataon na binibigyan ako ng additional tasks or di kaya may major presentation na kailangan ang mga bossing. Hanggang sa nakakalimutan ko na yung application ko.

may question po ako sa mga hiring manager, kapag nagclick ba ng Hire button may lalabas pa kung magkano rate ang ibibigay mo sa contractor? Or kung ano yung nasa profile rate yun na yun?

hehe...sorry me again. 

nakakashock ang mga applicant nowadays  every 1000hrs yata nag-aadd sila ng $1 sa hourly rate nila. kung ganun pala dapat 2 digits na yung rate ko sa data entry. haha

sa mga hiring manager here, musta po ang applicants nyo?

Joining! I have an account in eLance, but humihina lately. Will create an account sa oDesk later.

May mga tasks pa rin po ba dun sa oDesk even if I can only do oDesk for 3-5 hours a day? May full-time job kase ako but gusto ko lang din i-maximize yung remaining hours ko to earn extra income.

Hi mga sis,

Any suggestions naman. Matagal na akong member sa oDesk pero never pa ako nakakuha ng jobs. As in totally 0 yung work history ko.  Nitong week lang ako nagdecide ulit maging active and trying to edit my profile. I'm working as a freelance web designer pero mostly kasi yung mga kakilala ko lang online yung naging clients ko, balak ko sana i-add yun sa portfolio ko including my previous site projects na ginawa ko for myself. Ok lang ba iyon?

Medyo alangan nga ako sa web design skills ko kasi hindi naman ako totally professional. Baka naman meron kayong ideas on how to get my first ever job in oDesk. Triny ko rin pala mag take pa ng ibang skills tests. Tsaka nag apply na ako ng ibang job na related sa skillls.

Tsaka meron pala akong job na nadeclined nitong hapon lang sabi sa notif ko, then chineck ko yung job posting mismo, sabi This job is no longer available na daw. Ano ba ibig sabihin noon? Tapos na yung project na iyon and not available na for applicants OR talaga hindi ako qualified sa job na iyon?

EDITED: As of 4:10am (Sunday) nakatanggap ako ng good news. Grabe! Meron na ako akong first-ever project. Ang bait ni Lord! Nung isang araw lang ako nag try maging active sa oDesk at ginawa ko nga eh nagtake ako ng mga tests, inupdate ko yung profile at sinama ko narin yung mga portfolio at ayun nabigyan na ako ng opportunity. Nawa magtuloy-tuloy na ito. Yehey! Gusto ko kasi muna ibuild up yung feedback, kahit fixed rate ayos lang sa akin since first-time palang naman ito.

Hi po. Ngayon lang ulit ako nag-open ng femalenetwork account ko and lately lang din ako naging active ulit sa Odesk. Dami na rin palang changes since 2012. May ongoing hourly job po ako. Wednesday po ata magiging available for withdrawal yung first salary ko sa new client na ito. Wednesday po kaya mawi-withdraw ko na rin sya from my UCPB account? Or need to wait a few days pa? Lft po payment method na pinili ko. Reply naman po kayo mga sis. TIA

Been working part-time for more than 4 years na. So far OK. May extra income at nakaipon naman.
Now I am thinking to go full-time, since nakakasawa nadin sa corporate world.

^I got my start on oDesk. Aside from the usual adjustments (no commute time, no boss, no officemates, no benefits, and etc.), I think one of the major things I had to accept was the feast and famine cycle. Some days, you earn well. Some days, you earn nothing. Because of that, I had to learn to save for the times when work is scarce. Unlike in regular employment where you're lulled into that false sense of security that there will be continuous money and work for you.

I really disliked the famine part of the cycle, so I was motivated to save and push my limits while work was still coming in. From there, I learned to invest and how to increase what I had put away even more, so I never experience famine ever again.

I now realize how crucial that part of my life was, because it was when I formed invaluable wealth creation habits.

Nowadays, I focus more on my investments and business opportunities, but I still recognize how important freelancing was/is to me.

Matagal na ako hindi nakapag oDesk dahil nagconcentrate sa operation ng internet cafe. Mukhang mali ata ah, dapat ata sa oDesk ako tumutok. Subukan ko ulit itong oDesk. Balita ko may minimum wage ng $3/hr sa oDesk. Kahit minimum lang, P27k na rin yun a month kung may regular work.

Hindi ko alam kung yung balita kay Bam Aquino ay epekto na nung nag pm ako sa FB account nya tungkol sa mga freelancer na sana mabigyan ng tax free incentive tulad sa Bangladesh.

Eto at excited na ako mag-aral ulit ng skills para sa oDesk. PHP Programming at SQL subukan ko kung kaya, kahit $5/hr lang muna, hehe. Mag upgrade na lang ng rate pag confident na ako sa skill. ^_^

Once I got shortlisted sa isang job, then nag-training from 9pm-5am, the following day exam agad, di ko pa masyado gamay yung work. Ayun, di ko nakuha yung job, nasayang yung puyat ko. hehe. Better luck next time.
