The best tailors are in HK, although not necessarily cheap. My fiance had his made there for about 27k. 4 days lang may suit ka na, no fittings ha! He had a friend send the finished product here because he left na in 2 days. When he fit it at home, perfect fit. It was just a referral din sa amin of another groom who had his made there. Galing. If you can drop by for a quick trip, sulit yung HK.

Hubby will get his suit here in SG. Ayaw niya talaga ng off the rack na suit tapos i-alter. Mas gusto niya yung magpapatahi from scratch. So naghanap kami here, a bit expensive compared sa pinas, pero i took into consideration yung mga flights for the fitting so ok na din.

Just an FYI to all bride-to-bes here: you can have your pre-marriage enquiry done in SG. Just check with the parish where you're getting married and the parish you frequent here na it's okay The SG chancery will be the one to send the relevant docs/info after the meeting with the priest.

^ Charmed30: I don't think so. Interviews with the parish priest are required in the church where we're getting married kasi, so pre-marriage enquiry.

If by pre-cana you mean the weekend retreats for soon-to-be married couples, we're doing it here in SG also (pumayag din ang church namin). You can choose between the Catholic Engaged Encounter or the Marriage Preparation Course. The former's just for 1 weekend overnight while the latter is a series of half-day Sunday sessions spread across 6 weeks.

^oh ok. So it's the canonical interview (as what they call it in PH). How were you able to get a slot for the weekend retreat? I visited the site, they don't have any slots anymore

We went for MPC instead. You can call Lynette and Terence directly, if your wedding is less than 6 months from now they'll try to slot you in with the nearest group

Need pa rin isubmit yung Report of Marriage sa Embassy di ba? my worry is based sa website, 6 months yung processing para maging available for ordering sa NSO sa Pinas. May na yung wedding ko. Kung April pa marelease yung NSO Marriage Certificate baka wala kaming time allowance kung sakaling magkaproblema. OR pwede ba iparush yung processing? possible kaya marelease sya ng Feb / March?

^ hi mrsdeezon, yup, you need to submit your report of marriage to the embassy. for us, our church didn't need the nso copies, they just took copies of our singapore marriage certificate. i think you can clarify with your church whether they really need the nso copy of it.

i don't think the nso can make their process any faster. based on my experience, we reported our singapore marriage to the embassy a week after our wedding. i waited til june to request for the nso copy. the nso said that my copy has not yet been converted to electronic format and required manual search and retrieval, which resulted to an additional 15 days of processing so instead of getting my nso copy within 1-2 months, i got it only after 3 months.

wow! so 3 months lang narelease na? akala ko 6 months kasi yun ang indicated sa website nila. Im fine kahit 3-4 months kasi if ever, Feb pa namin plan magasikaso ng marriage license sa pinas. Pero kung marelease ng NSO before hand, keri na to wait.

at the same time, imma check na rin sa Caleruega if accept nila yung cert namin dito.

Question pala. For the NSO cert ang date of marriage ba ay yung date ng ROM or pwede ipaindicate yung date ng church wedding next year?

Date ng RoM sis. May fifillup-an ka na report of marriage sa embassy, then hihingin yung singapore marriage cert mo. Yung finillup-an mo na form bale yun na yung gagamitin ng NSO at ipprint sa security paper.

hi mrsdeezon, sorry, i wasn't very clear. we had our rom last december 2014, i requested for the nso copy in june 2015 (6 months after we filed it with the philippine embassy). from there, it took about 3 months to get our nso copy of our report of marriage. it's basically 6 months plus 3 months. i hope this clarifies things.

i also got a cenomar where it indicated that i was married to my husband, i was able to get that within 1-2 months.

I'm also an overseas bride and as far as what I've gathered from online forums, blogs, and threads, I decided to inquire with Getting Married Philippines, SMA weddings and Beyond, Kiss the Girl Events, Events Simplified, and Events Experts. My future MIL inquired and met up with Imbitado Events and we ended up booking her for OTD coordination.
