Putting Laptop on Lap

Hi sisses,
Lagi ko nababasa na it's bad to put laptops on your lap.
Pero is it okay kung yung laptop eh naka-patong sa cooling pad? So hindi siya direkta nakapatong sa lap.

I'm just concern kasi lagi ko ginagawa to.

Bakit daw bad? Timing naman itong post mo, I am reading and replying posts in GT while my laptop is on my lap.

Heard something about this too.

Sabi di raw maganda ang laptop sa lap - pero in particular sa mga guys lang, not sa girls.

Why? It fries their sperms daw, kaya may possibility na mabaog sila.

Makes sense though.

I have been putting my laptop on my lap for more than 5 years - but for short periods lang (around 30 mins or less) because I could not sustain the position and I'd go back to sitting up straight, and also putting the laptop on the lap is not good for the laptop life. Didn't feel any health issues. I'm a girl btw.

Actually mas nakasama pa sa health ng laptop kaysa sa health ko ang paglagay sa lap. For one the laptop fan which is under the laptop sucks whatever fabric fiber it is exposed to. To the point na hirap na umikot ang fan dahil sa dami ng dumi at fabric. And when the fan stopped, the laptop stopped powering on because of that defective fan. The lap blocks ventilation because our soft laps fill in the gaps underneath the laptop. Kaya eventually umiinit ang laptop and this causes problems - umabot rin to the point na nagloko na ang motherboard ng laptop ko that I had to spent a huge amount of money to repair it.

Yan kasi talaga main concern ko sa lahat ng nabasa ko na masama ilagay ang laptop sa lap.
Wala pa kasi akong anak.

^ Yah sis. That's according to experts. Makes sense nga naman. Laptops, lalo na yung mga malalaking type, could get really really hot that it burns their balls.

Wala namang sinabi sa girls.

But still, like I said above di pa rin magandang magtagal ang laptop sa lap - for another reason na it shortens the life of your laptop.

Interesting. Ngayon ko lang narinig ito. Lap naman ilalagay diba? Hindi naman directly nakapatong sa male reproductive system.

i dont think anybody makes a habit of using laptops habang nakapatong sa lap nila. Laptops heats up real easy pag natakpan ang exhaust vent and becomes uncomfortable pag nalapat sa balat ng tao. I always keep mine on a flat surface then put something underneath to tilt it para makahinga yung fan, not to mention I open up my laptop from time to time to brush the fan on my board from the accumulated dust pati yung cooling pad mismo.

More often than not, improper heat dissipation kills most laptops.

Still no definite studies regarding this. Parang yan yung warnings regarding sa cellphone pag nakalagay sa bulsa and using them close to the head like calling and answering
