Thunderbird Resorts Poropoint. Nagovernight lang kami over the weekend, enjoyed the rain and the waves. So far, very peaceful and quiet naman. Sobrang nakakarelax.

These are the hotels we've stayed at around the Metro so far:

Discovery Suites - big suites, breakfast buffet okay
Seda Hotel - I've stayed at Seda Iloilo, Nuvali, and BGC. All ar egreat so far but the rooms are quite small
Rizal Park Hotel - picture perfect hotel but the breakfast buffet was so-so
Manila Hotel - One of the best I've tried so far. Classic, classy, the lobby is magnificent, the breakfast buffet is AWESOME
Thunderbird Binangonan - overpriced
Manila Peninsula - rooms are small but the the breakfast buffet is great
EDSA Shangri La - Rooms are okay although quite dated, the breakfast buffet is great too

Has anyone tried staying at Somerset Alabang? I'm planning to book them for NYE.

^We?ve stayed there for NYE din 2 years ago. Malaki yung 1BR suite nila. Not sure sa studio. Super limited din breakfast selection nila.

Around the metro:

New World Makati- super nice brekkie (you can have this in the ground or upper floor- for exclusive ambience). Room is small. To think we booked members club package. Big pool.

Discovery Primea Makati- spacious room. Nice homey modern feel. I like the printed curtains. Small pool. Their spa massage is a must. But since it?s along paseo minsan maririnig mo yung mga sasakyan.

Manila Pen- room feels old. Nice bathroom. I like the food except I saw a strand of hair nakasuksok talaga dun sa egg. Hay.

Stayed in Ascott as well as other hotels in makati- wala namang special difference.

Recently stayed in Edsa Shang. I like the homey vibe of the hotel. It is a nice hotel for families with small kids. Ganda ng pool area but sobrang lamig ng water. Staff are nice. We were not able to try their breakfast buffet because yung meal na kasama sa room namin is flexi. So not sure if its really chaotic especially during weekends. We had dinner instead. Sakto mad for lobster night! I enjoyed their lobster but ang OA for me na most of their dishes and some desserts may lobsters din. Ayaw ng husband ko ng lobster so marami syang hindi natikman.

I booked a 1 bedroom suite at Somerset Alabang for 2 nights in time for NYE. Sayang hinde pala sila pet friendly pa. So my sister hinde makakasama cus she's going to stay at her bf's family with our dog.

Last October we stayed at Mella Hotel in Las Pinas.  It's our 2nd time with them but this time we booked one of their loft rooms.  The room is good for 6 adults and 2 kids.  Sa baba may king bed with bathroom tapos sa 2nd floor may 2 bunk beds and bathroom.  I paid 9,500 for the room which already includes buffet breakfast for 6.

This month naman we stayed at Okada Manila for my hubby's birthday.  It's also our 2nd time with them.  I booked their deluxe king room for 15k++ with buffet breakfast.  But since we're celebrating a milestone and it's our 2nd time na with them, they upgraded our room to a junior suite (corner) with balcony.  Super laki ng room and we really liked it.

twelve_goddess some hotels allow pets inside the premises?  We do have dogs at my parent's house but I won't be too comfortable having pets in hotels.  I have also never seen one yet.

Recently, we stayed at hilton, and it was by far the biggest room we have stayed in so far.  It has a small kitchen, dining and a large couch for guests.  It was around 120 sqm.
