employees venting out on fb
« on: December 17, 2014, 08:29:20 pm »
So we had our christmas party somewhere in makati.
Instructions were STAR MAGIC BALL,  STRICTLY FORMAL, BLACK AND OR GOLD...

I didnt have the budget to rent a gown pa.. so kung anong meron ako yun nalang ginamit ko...
Some employees were todo effort... gumastos, nagrent ng suit, ng gown, bumili ng gownish dress.. nagpamake up!... basta EFFORT...

come christmas party... 95% nung umattend were wearing black and gold....
2% mga galing shift mga nakacasual... so fine... pagbigyan...
3% naman ay yung mga PASAWAY... naka baby pink gown, blue, yellow, red....all white...

of course every xmas party naman has its own STARS OF THE NIGHT.. hindi na nila kami pinaboto...
basta nalang nila tinawag yung mga STARS OF THE NIGHT..
4 ang winners of every gender.
GIRL = was wearing GOLD.. na stunning talaga siya... no doubt ang lakas ng star appeal niya...
TOMBOY = i forgot what she was wearing.
LALAKi = ALL WHITE
BAKLA = ALL GREEN

of course mababanas ka talaga... bukod sa sobrang papansin na nung bakla kala mo debut nya during the xmas party... eh nakagreen pa??
Nagrant ako on FB.. can't help it... (again girls di ako naghahabol sa award.. justice lang sa mga transgender at lalaki na nagtodo effort for the theme)

"so they said, wear something black and or gold.. then there's this hard headed people who wore pink, red , blue gowns...super eye sore... ang worst nanalo pa ng star of night transgender yung nakagreen na beks at yung nakaallwhite na lalaki??? Follow the rules tayo minsan pag may chance... wag kinukunsinti ang mga papansin pls.."

nagcomment yung HR... he said. talk to me at the office.....
im like what???? panira sa mood?now seriously,. OPINION ko ito,,,, wala akong libelous na sinabi sa post ko... totoo namang super unfair ng nangyari? commend the good followers, not the law breakers...

MAY RIGHT BA ANG HR NA PAKIALAMAN ANG RANTS NG EMPLOYEES ON FB? i mean yes of course, sometimes, pag super personal na.. pero sa opinion kong ito... sobrang babaw para ipatawag ako?

That's why I never accept fb requests from co-workers. Even from HR dept.

ako i never rant even nung nasa college ako espcially if about sa school at lalo na ngayon nagtrabaho ako ilan lang ang nasa friendlist ko na taga office i do not befriend them their the one who add me.

As long as possible syempre opinion mo iyon at sa wall mo naman pinost, pwera na lang na sa employees manual nyo nakalagay na bawal yung pagpopost ng rant sa social media. review mo na lang code of ethics ng kumpanya mo and be ready.

Depende sa values ng company niyo yun. I think it's the transgender and beks words kasi sa amin bawal discrimination so red flag yan sa HR. Doesn't matter if FB mo yan and you're just ranting, you're still an employee considered part of the company.

Hope it turns out well since your intention is fairness. Tama naman yung part na yun. Delivery lang I think needs proper channel like going directly to the organizers maybe?

Though in the future, rant with your family or close friends na lang. Never any medium na may officemate involved.

It is very unethical to rant about the company you work for in social media. In our company, we have rules that are in black and white about the employees' responsbility in social media especially if our company name is declared on or FB account.

This happened to me but rather ako yung topic or cause why he (bakla kasi siya) ranted sa FB. Di ko sasabihin wala ako kasalanan sa kanya, it's just that willing ako kausapin siya to rectify the issue at hand but NO he posted on FB all about it. There was name-calling & the post was in ALL CAPS. The post was well-liked by not only our colleagues but also his friends na di naman ako kilala, nakaPublic pa talaga ha for everyone to see. He wasn't my friend so another mutual friend showed his post to me. Ayoko na sana gawin but my other bosses urged me to file a complaint to our manager. I think he learned his lesson & no matter how many times or how sincere he was, I just couldn't bring myself to respect him or even be nice to him again.

for me, it's a no-no. sa office pa naman palakasan. case to case basis if papalagpasin or magkaka-memo ka, unless it's so obvious that you break a rule. i'm not sipsip, so you'll pretty much guess where will I end up if I say something on social media.

I just don't see the point ranting in FB. You can speak to the people involved first before venting it out on FB. In my case, hopeless case makipag-usap sa management about my concern so I learn the art of deadma.

well, why dont you send us a screenshot and let us, the unbiased, read about it? :P

But generally, rule of thumb, did you really have to vent it out on Facebook? If you think it's just your opinion, na unfair, doesn't HR or anyone else for that matter, deserve to have an opinion as well that what you've done is unprofessional? If you have the right to post, didnt you think about the possibilities na talagang may magreact?

Thats the problem with social media nowadays, couldn't you have coursed it through the proper channels first? Couldn't you have asked and questioned the ones involved first? Think before you post.

And anyways, it all seems like a trivial thing, di naman legal or labor issues..

The Rule of the Thumb is that never RANT on facebook. We all know that it's your personal account pero people can see your posts especially kapag naka open ka sa public or friends mo yung co workers mo. I had a co worker na halos araw araw siya nag ra rant sa FB about the company. Hindi naman siya pinapagalitan pero nag leave na siya ng bad impression sa lahat ng tao especially to those who knows her sa office.

I used to post mga rants din before sa FB. Pero laging binabantayan ng sister ko and pinapagalitan ako. So ngayon, hindi na ako nag ra rant. I just keep it to myself and besids, I have my husband naman para pagsabihan ko ng mga hinanakit ko. Iniisip ko nalang na dati naman walang facebook e. So I guess I can still manage everything kahit na walang facebook.

it depends yata, if it involves the company i think they have the right. ako i do rant sa fb about my boss or the management pero they didn't know na its them na pala that i'm talking about. may sarili akong terms na ginagamit and sometimes tinutulad ko sa philippine government or politics ang situation or minsan sa mga possible na mangyare everyday. minsan naman dina divert ko ang negative rant to positive rant para di ma-bad vibes ang friends ko kapag nabasa nila.

like one of my post "its hunting time" in my mind i was referring for job hunting. when my boss asked me about it i told him its dungeon hunt on one of the games i play (palusot na lumusot).

its ok to rant, wall mo yan eh walang basagan ng trip sabi nga nila. pero tulad rin ng sabi nila think before you click. if ever na di mo mapigilan restrict them na lang.

nobody's stopping anyone to rant all their dramas in life pero always remember  that not everybody wants to hear or read about them.

basically, just keep those to yourself.  ::)

when you rant in social media, it just show how passive aggresive you are. lalo na kung "parinig mode" ang status mo. you know that some people can take your words out of context. minsan magkakaroon pa ng unnecessary fights or cold wars dahil lang sa post sa fb, which can affect your productivity

aminin mo, sobrang babaw nga ng issue para i rant mo pa sa fb di ba?

Best to not rant, nor reveal more than the basics of your life.
That's the irony of social media:  it doesn't pay to be "sociable". Lol

Allowing your colleagues into your account actually expands your career risks.
I mean, who's perfect after all? Or, who has a perfect life?  You just open yourself up to judgment & criticisms -- when, without FB, you would have avoided these.   Knowledge is power, so don't make others powerful nga daw.

Company watchdogs are quick to call employees' attention to any disparaging remarks made on social media.  Management tends to hold the company's profile/reputation as being over and above employees'  right to quibble.  Just saying.  As your HR said: talk to us first before/instead of  venting on FB.

When something happened at work that I think is wrong or when my line leader/supervisor have abused their "power" again, I just usually keep it to myself or discuss it with my bf or officemates. I don't think it's a wise decision to rant what you feel on fb or other social media sites especially if you have friends working in the same company. They can definitely take your post against you. In this digital age kasi, if eyes are windows to our souls then our social media accounts offer a window on how we live our lives.

In our company, they provide us an email where we can send our positive or negative feedbacks. If you really feel na may nagawa silang mali then it's better if you take the safe way. Send an email or talk to your HR about it.

Simplify your lives. I have facebook but it's limited to my friends and relatives. Mahirap na. Sometimes even the things you think are harmless can be used against you. And yes, regardless of the circumstances, even if you are right, it's just unprofessional to whine about work and your colleagues in public.

It's a no-no for me. I usually call out the attention of my team when they do this because it's unprofessional, in my opinion.  Yes it's you wall, granted na yun but you are opening up discussions na most likely e one-sided. If you feel strongly about an issue sa loob ng opisina, I  strongly suggest taking it up with the party involved. More pa kung influential ang position mo sa company like supervisor ganun.

In my opinion, ranting in fb is very unprofessional.this is the very reason why some recruiters go to the fb account of the applicants to check how the applicants behave.

"you are what you post." and ranting in social media about your disgust with your company or work is putting your self at risk for future employment as well.
