Employees venting out on FB
« on: December 17, 2014, 08:03:44 pm »
So we had our christmas party somewhere in makati.
Instructions were STAR MAGIC BALL,  STRICTLY FORMAL, BLACK AND OR GOLD...

I didnt have the budget to rent a gown pa.. so kung anong meron ako yun nalang ginamit ko...
Some employees were todo effort... gumastos, nagrent ng suit, ng gown, bumili ng gownish dress.. nagpamake up!... basta EFFORT...

come christmas party... 95% nung umattend were wearing black and gold....

of course every xmas party naman has its own STARS OF THE NIGHT.. hindi na nila kami pinaboto...
basta nalang nila tinawag yung mga STARS OF THE NIGHT..
4 ang winners of every gender.
GIRL = was wearing GOLD.. na stunning talaga siya... no doubt ang lakas ng star appeal niya...
TOMBOY = SMART CASUAL GALING SYANG SHIFT
LALAKi = ALL WHITE
BAKLA = ALL GREEN

of course mababanas ka talaga... bukod sa sobrang papansin na nung bakla kala mo debut nya during the xmas party... eh nakagreen pa??
Nagrant ako on FB.. can't help it... (again girls di ako naghahabol sa award.. justice lang sa mga transgender at lalaki na nagtodo effort for the theme)

"so they said, wear something black and or gold.. then there's this hard headed people who wore pink, red , blue gowns...super eye sore... ang worst nanalo pa ng star of night transgender yung nakagreen na beks at yung nakaallwhite na lalaki??? Follow the rules tayo minsan pag may chance... wag kinukunsinti ang mga papansin pls.."

nagcomment yung HR... he said. talk to me at the office.....
im like what???? panira sa mood?now seriously,.

Kung ako sa lugar mo, I'll just ignore the message or reply/ask what is it about? If its regarding the post - edi magusap kayo sa Facebook. Ganon lang.

Friend mo ba yung HR niya at parang casual lang siya mag message sayo? Also, anong position title niya sa HR?

i rarely vent out about sa work on fb kasi pag iinitan talaga kami, sa tingin ko talaga hindi tama, but yung xmas party namin was like a big joke. totally unfair.. so next time hindi nalang kami susunod sa dress code. baka magkaaward pakami.

may point ka sis... pag fb post .. sa fb kami dapat magusap.. pag sa loob ako ng office nagwawala dun nya ako kausapin... tomorrow pag pinatawag ako fine. haharap ako at galit ako.. i will not retract my opinion... ang daming nyang problema sa office para magaksaya ng time for this.. kainis! :-)

Musta sis, pinatawag ka ba? For me lang ha ang babaw naman nun para ipatawag ka sa office. Nagrant ka about nanalo sa awards not the company, its policy or any of your officemates. Tsaka nagcomment siya talaga, di pm? Delete mo comment tapos unfriend mo na yan sis. Hahaha.

Ako personally wary ako pag may nagsesend na friend request sa fb ko from our HR. Kasi sa panahon ngayon talagang they use whatever you post in your fb against you e. Daming kwentong ganyan dito, altho a different story from yours. Tsaka as much as possible, lalo na if meron ka ngang fb friends na officemates especially if higher position or in the hr department, wag na lang magrant sa fb. Yeah I know it's your space kasi and you should be able to say what you want, kaso nga lang sa dami ng connections sa fb ang dating is nagshoshout out ka na din. So anything negative related to work or company, it's best to refrain from posting them in fb.

Nakikialam eh, haha!

My personal take is not to add employees on Facebook or at least allow them to 'follow' you (so that the only see your public posts).

The employer should have a social media policy in place, and have it finalised and circulated around the company.  Otherwise a company runs the risk of making the rules up, good avenues for employee dissatisfaction.

At the end of the day, everyone wants to have their own personal space (online), no one wants this to happen to them, people should still be able to post what they like without fear of being fired.

Personally, I actually haven't added employees on FB, just asked them to go on Twitter or LinkedIn instead.

This is a major No-No.. I heard issues of termination because of this.

I did this before nung activated pa yung facebook ko and friends ko pa yung ibang boss doon. Then during a meeting ng department heads, someone asked if they have an idea kung sino tinutukoy ko sa post ko. Naging blind item, according to the little bird who told me. I guess depende talaga sa tao and policies ng company about social media.

Super agree with sis bisous on this: "The employer should have a social media policy in place, and have it finalised and circulated around the company.  Otherwise a company runs the risk of making the rules up, good avenues for employee dissatisfaction."

Social media networks like Facebook and Twitter are no longer 'just another website'. Yung impact and influence nya on people has leveled up. Companies should really consider having policies covering social media to update their rules. In your case, if HR had a prob with what you posted (if you violated any company rules that is), then he/she shouldn't have addressed you or called your attention to it via a Facebook comment. :D

^olah... tama kajan... dapat pinm ako at sabihin take down the post or something.. lahat nagsasabi dapat pm daw talaga..

actually binura ko comment nya ... (totoo yon.. sa comment nya na talk to me at the office parang fb na to wag mo pairilin ang authority mo.. ang yabang ng dating) and also magiging malaking issue pag nagsagutan pa kami doon ... pinm ko officemates ko.. at tinodo nanamin ang pagvent out sa comments...

yung husband ko... out of respect sa motif bumili pa ng gold na neck tie.. tapos yung mga hindi sumunod.. may award?

my post has been modified.. nalaman ko na yung suot nung tomboy... smart casual , typical khaki pants and khaki call center jacket... o diba?

tama yang venting out na yan on fb dapat may detailed guidelines... pero personally dapat kung may mali sa post ng employee ipm dapat ng nakakataas... hindi comment rin.. its immaturity vs immaturity hehe

kasama rin sa code of ethics namin never to post anything on co-workers, or work sa social media sites, esp. rants.

kaya ako, mga post ko e naka-custom, tapos gumawa ako ng isang group for my officemates para me mapost man ako di nila nakikita, hehe....

I have a custom group for my workmates, but I don't really vent in social medias about my work, I don't feel comfortable about it XD. Also ayoko nakikita nila yung mga post ko I don't feel comfortable, kung sa work sa work lang I don't want to mix it, pero kung friend ko na yung officemates ko ayos lang na makita nila mga post ko. XD

Rule of thumb: Just don't.  ;)

If you have to rant or vent out your emotions, send direct messages to friends or family. The initial understanding when it's posted publicly is PUBLIC or FRIENDS ang target audience mo. It's a very fine line for someone to accuse you of slander.

Not only is venting out publicly (or kahit to friends through posts, especially if workmates are friends on social media) subject to various offenses based on company code of ethics, it's stuck on your timeline and if your potential employer (in the future) does some digging, it will be a complete turn-off.

So many examples of posts taken out of context by just being up there in the world wide web alone so let's be more cautious of what we post.  :)

It is a no no, it is also like telling the world what is happening to your company. be discreet and think before you post or never post at all.
