@iammabelle - my cs experience with PGH was great and good.. great the first time around.. I stayed at the 7th floor nun 2010 emergency CS ako. The rooms there bigger and i had a great view.. They took care of me so well dun sa 7th floor. The nurses were nice and I felt pampered. Big private room avail ko that time which gave me so muvh space. My caregiver had her own bed, there was a couch and a chair. It had a ref and tv. The cabinet had 4 doors and there was a dresser. The bathroom was also roomy.

The 2nd time I had my scheduled CS I stayed at the 5th floor. I chose to stay at a small private room because i was wanted to stay on budget and discourage visitors. The nurses were good but not that great. They were not so attentive and I was the only OB patient on the 5th floor at that time. I was unhappy with them but it made me want to get better faster.. The nurse asst was great. They made my recovery easier. They were more reliable than the nurses. My OB and pedia even gave the nurses an earful of reprimands because they missed a lot of things when I was there.

Who is your OB sis? Mine was Doc Siasu.

Sis MedChic, yes third day ng madaling araw pinilit kong makalakad on my own kasi overstay na kami lol..di rin ako nadischarge ng maaga kasi OB waited for me to fart/poop (sorry) first so tumagal kami ng 5days - on the 4th day na rin ako nakakain. Dun na-test yung pain tolerance ko (once lang ako nagtake ng pain meds) and I thought mabilis akong makakarecover haha. It was a painful experience but the joy of having my baby now is so incomparable.

I will have my C-Section on Monday at 1pm. Anong pwede at hindi pwedeng kainin prior to the surgery? Ilan oras ang last meal dapat? After the surgery,anong food ang pwedeng kainin while in the hospital?

di ko maalala kung 5hrs. better ask si OB. ang pagkaalala ko, yun last meal kasi nakadepende dun kung pwede ka na bigyan ng anesthesia. suggest soft diet ka lang para di ka rin mahirap mag poop after.

after CS, liquid/clear diet - water, sabaw. ang goal mo especially pagkatanggal ng catheter e maihi at mag fart. pag nagawa mo na yan, saka ka bibigyan ng soft diet naman. you can eat papaya kasi ang next goal e mag poop. kapag nakapag poop ka na, regular diet na.

may ganun pala na dapat liquid diet after cs? yun pagkain ko kasi was all normal (i didn't eat though - no appetite) and i remember thinking, hmmm bakit kelangan hintayin mag pass ng gas? mahirap ba to dapat? (kasi i had no problems with it)

yun pag pee, dun ako nahirapan... i tried, wala... so catheter ulit. tapos the next day, try ulit. ayun na... pero ang hirap kelangan ko ng flowing water na sound

^haha ako sa pagpoop nahirapan kasi naman wala na ko kinain the previous day dahil induced ako at nung time na dapat papakainin na ko since di nagprogress yun pag induce sa kin, e dun naman nagstart ang labor ko talaga. after CS, liquid diet pa sumunod kaya ano naman ilalabas ko nun di ba? buti naisip ko magpabili ng papaya. ayun effective hehe. kinabukasan uwian na

sis gumdrops26, i just learned from my parents that passing gas is important after cs because it's an indication that your internal organs are working properly. apparently, my mom (she had 3 cs) had a lot of gas in her tummy after her first cs and they had to give her suppository so she can pass gas because if not it could have killed her or something i also had emergency cs and was talking to them about not having trouble passing gas after my surgery.

Sisses, currently preggy here. As of the moment sofa bed ang bed namin. Naisip ko if ma CS ako, baka mahirapan naman ako sa pag sleep at pag tayo nun. Anyone here na naka floor bed na nagwork out pa din naman?

mindiegirl - Mommy, CS ako nung nanganak last 2009 pa. And im currently 20 weeks pregnant. Kami dati, we decided to sleep sa floor (thick foam) kasi ayaw matulog ni Baby sa Crib and we don't have a choice kasi takot kami na baka gumulong sa bed and mahulog. Hindi naman ako nahirapan kahit na CS ako. Your OB will teach you the right way paano bumangon para hindi masakit.

Wife underwent emergency CS last friday. As of today, she can move around unassisted na. First 3 days lang talaga struggle going to the bathroom. Have a girdle ready para lagay agad sa tummy mo after CS. Masakit if you cough or sneeze. But pag 4th day tolerable na pain. Also prepare sanitary napkins na pang overnight kasi you will be bleeding. Another alternative is adult diapers if mabab tolerance nyo for pain. Para you dont have to stand up to go to the toilet. But advisable talaga to move around the day after your CS to hasten the healing process. It also helps if nandun husband nyo inside the OR. It helps calm your nerves while they are operating on you kasi you will be conscious when they open you up. It helps din a lot when you trust your OB. Was inside the OR from start of incision up to sewing up to give my wife encouragement. If takot hubby nyo sa blood, he does not need to look at it naman basta katabi ka lang and kwentuhan kayo.  Good luck everyone and dont worry if lahat na precautions in place it will br fine. Talk to you OB about any concerns. You are paying them alot of money and they should be able to reassure you.

kiz_me1109 - thank you sis, parang hindi kasi bagay if palagyan ng frame pa yung sofa bed eh. thick foam naman din to and comfy. Same as you ganon din balak namin kaya floor bed, co sleep with baby at may sarili din syang floorbed. Hoping na mag work out ito.

Hello sissies! 3 weeks pp na ako pero di pa din ako nakakaligo (CS po ako) puro punas lang gusto ko na maligo ask sana ko paano ninyo binabalot yung tahi para di mabasa? Naisip ko plastic pero baka may mas effective na tips kayo sis.

Nag nana kasi tahi on my 4th day after operation eh. Tapos halos kahapon lang talaga natuyo yung pinakadulo. Yung upper part kasi mabilis naman natuyo. Pahelp naman mga sis..

^alam ko sis may nabibili na waterproof gauze, tegaderm ang tawag. Di pa ko nanganganak, wait mo din advice ng ibang mommies.

Yes, tegaderm is a life savior! You can buy sa drugstores.

^I agree! My CS wound 11 years ago had Tegaderm. I took a shower everyday without covering it. I had to change it though every 2-3 days

FF this thread. I am expecting and will likely undergo CS again. I am so scared. My CS experience is the most pain I have ever felt in my life!!! Plus the anesthesiologist wasnt too good in my opinion. This time around, I plan to research and request for really good anesthesiologist.

 Goodluck sis ^, sana makahanap ka ng maayos na anes..ako din most likely CS ulit hehe...mejo scared din pero sana almost same lang last time kasi smooth lang yung operation kahit mejo matagal yung recovery..

How much yung tegaderm? And meron ba sa mercury drug? Kasi may nabasa ako na wala daw sa mercury and sa st. Luke's pa sila bumibili?

^Wala ba sa mismong hospital sis ako as far as I remember 400 pesos hindi ko alam kung ilang sheets pati yung sukat nakalimutan ko na to think last year lang yun. Yun din kasi pinantakakip sa sugat ko kaya nakaligo ako after 3 days.

Hi mga sis! I'm on my 35th week na. Just a question lang po. Is our height a big factor for CS? Sabi kasi ng doctor ko I cannot do a normal delivery because of my height. I'm 4"11. Wala naman siya sinabi na komplikasyon ng baby. Normal at healthy si baby. It's just my height. What do you think guys? TIA
