what do you use when you travel your smartphone or real cam?

what do you use when you travel your smartphone or real cam?  specially if 1st out of the country tour. how do you handle this?

Most definitely a real camera. Pictures are important for me kasi talaga and I remember before we went to Europe which was my dream destination, we bought a dslr camera and tripod para talagang kuha lahat and mag and a,  walang blur blur o madilim etc.

Both. Since I write a blog I like to use my nice camera to take really good photos. For mabilisan shots where I don't have to set up my shots, I use my phone.

I remember my first solo backpack travel in Sydney and Melbourne, I really went time to buy myself a nikon coolpix S9700 simply because taking pictures using iPhone will not be good enough for the mountains, sceneries.  Hindi maganda pang memories. 

When I went to EU on business, apart from my iPhone which I used for FB checkins or instagram, I never forgot my nikon for FB albums and computer storage pictures.  Now, my screensaver are my EU trip and it was all clear and not blurry as it was taken using a real camera, not iphone.  Good for memories!

If you just bring your phone, chances are, it will be hitting low battery too often.  Real cameras however can withstand long hours of taking pictures without getting a low batt.

usually, both. but for short trips and to places i've been to before, phone na lang.

Big fan of the DSLR here. Since I love taking shots of details... I really put forth my "tiyaga" in carry it around. If I want to go easy on some days, I switch over to a trusty point and shoot cam and when I need to snap shots fast, that's when the phone comes in.

yun lang mga sis no if iphone gamit pwede kagad maupload in fb unlike dslr and cam paguwi pa... sa US ba sis pano yun wifi connections nyo?

^if importante sayo yung upload ng pictures kagad sa social media, then phone nga kelangan mo. Pero there are wifi cameras these days rin naman.

sakin kasi hindi importante yun mas importante sakin image quality.

I usually upload my pics into my iPad mini using a camera connection kit so it's not really a problem uploading pics. But kung gusto mo instant upload, yeah use your phone or one of those cameras with Wifi capabilities.

What I do sis, paunti unti lang ang upload ko sa FB.  Mga highlights lang ng trip for check in purposes lang (since I don't have my laptop).  Then pag uwi ko ng bahay, saka ko upload yung buong album ko na mas clear ang kuha.

Smartphone lang since wala naman akong sariling cam. Pwede manghiram from family members kaso di rin ako ganun kaingat sa gamit e so wag na. Asa na lang sa mga kasama kong nagpipicture haha.

If you like to carry stuff, then go bring a DSLR.

If you pack light, get a digicam or a smartphone.

I only brought a smartphone with me on my recent Tokyo trip, so far, I don't have any issues with the picture quality. I brought my DSLR before on my trips out of the country and it's such a hassle for me kasi naka-camera backpack pa ako and my luggage.

So yeah, depends on how much gear you're willing to carry. =)

i use both. Plus an instax cam.
they have different uses for me:

1) SLR: i usually bring a 50mm kasi it's good for low light conditions and mahilig ako sa street photography and portraits of locals so ayun that's what I use for that. I also lug around an 8mm fisheye or a wide angle lens for landmarks, beaches, etc.

2) Instax: pruwebang naglakbay ako. so usually to take pictures of landmarks and activities unique to that country

3) iphone: selfies, selvies (haha) and just funny things I stumble upon like weird signs. Or in places na bawal camera.

Phone - I invest on it so I don't need to have a separate camera etc.

Point and shoot camera with selfie stick hehe. No dlsr for me while travelling for 1, i dont really know how to use it.
