If you're already in Laoag, mag sand dunes na kayo. Windmills is in Pagudpud. 1.5 hrs travel time from Laoag to Pagudpud. Hapon na kayo mag sand dunes para di mainit at masulit nyo sya.

How long does it take to get to Pagudpud from Laoag? Does anyone know a car hire that will take us from the airport?

Also, which is better, Saud or Blue Lagoon?

nearly 2 hours. Yung saud tsaka blue lagoon halos magkalapit lang and depende na lang sa yo. I'm not sure if they accept reservations pero pag palapit na holy week malamang tumaas prices ng rooms.

Yung saud vs. Blue lagoon, depende din sa season o month. Kapag habagat mga May-Sept hindi gaano maalon sa Blue Lagoon. Kapag amihan naman like oct-feb tahimik ang dagat sa saud side.

just got back last night from our ilocos trip. super fun! will definitely come back. naglolokohan nga kami ng teammate ko na gawin na naming yearly tradition. super bait din ng mga trike drivers/tour guides namin - kuya arnel for pagudpud, kuya october for laoag, and kuya jhun for vigan. i highly recommend the three of them! if anyone wants their contact number, just pm me.

Hi sissies! We're planning to visit Vigan this coming May. I just want to have some suggestions regarding to our 3-day itinerary.

Friday: My hubby, 5-year old daughter and I will travel via private car. Alis kami Friday morning. Expected arrival sa Vigan around after lunch. Okay pa kayang mag tour after long drive? Or wait na lang namin yung night to stroll at Heritage Village?

Saturday: Vigan tour

Sunday: Lunch time back to Manila.

*Kahit di na kami mag-Laoag tour. Gusto lang namin visit Bangui Windmills. Possible kaya?

^medyo malayo pa sa vigan yung bangui windmills sis ha. siguro mga 3-4 hours away pa. why not stay in pagudpud na lang instead of vigan? nearer sa pagudpud yung windmills than vigan.

regarding strolling, pwede naman siguro if di kayo masyadong pagod. if you are, rest na lang muna bago mag ikot.

@unsophisticatedme thank you sis!! we took your advise, we really had fun sa La Paz Sand Dunes, 5 hours kami nag babad don- 1 hour 4x4 ride and nakigpagkwentuhan sa mga tao, mga ibang tourist, mga tour guides/drivers, etc. Hindi na kami pumunta sa ibang tourist spot sa Laoag, we just tried the Pinakbet Pizza and then travel na kami to Pagudpud for the next day tour. DIY kami lahat. swerte kami kasi even if we are in the road we were able to look for places to stay for the night. Before sumakay ng bus pa MLA, naghanap pa kami ng hotel online for our overnight stay in Manila before our flight back to Cebu, buti nlang may internet cafe kami nakita Laoag Pure Gold.  sooo happy that I survived the 11 hour travel.

Which is better, Kapuluan or Casa Consuelo?

We're travelling by plane (tamad mag drive hehe) and we found a tour guide/driver who will charge us 5500 all in for -
Airport pick up, drive to Laoag hotel
Laoag tour with free sand dunes (no more 4x4 kasi ayaw namin)
Pagudpud tour
Drop off and pick up at Pagudpud resort.

Ok na ba yan?

^not sure about kapuluan but casa consuelo is nice. dun kami nag-stay nung teammate ko nung chinese new year. okay naman yung room, malinis and spacious yung room na napunta sa amin. if you're using globe, heads up lang, medyo mahina ang signal dito. they have wifi din. haven't tried connecting sa room namin but mabilis naman sa reception/resto area nila. food is okay and reasonably priced. when i go back to pagudpud, i'll most probably stay at casa consuelo ulit.

hi sis! add ko lang sa earlier post ko, my suggestion is instead of spending the night at vigan, maybe you'd like to spend it at pagudpud na lang (eto din ang plan ko when i take my little girl to ilocos). you can visit the bangui windmills then spend time sa saud beach or blue lagoon. tapos, alis kayo ng early morning sa pagudpud para makapag vigan tour and stroll sa heritage village, then head back to manila. yun lang, mas maganda ang heritage village at night.

^Thanks sis. Iniisip ko lang kasi si hubby. Long drive. Baka matulog na lang sya maghapon haha.

Option 1:
Day 1: After lunch arrival to Vigan. Take a rest and start vigan tour. Baluarte and Heritage village at night.
Day 2: Bangui Windmills. Then back to Vigan.
Day 3: Chillax lang. Lunch time back to Manila.

Option 2:
Day 1: Straight to Bangui windmills then check-in Pagudpod resort.
Day 2: Morning to Vigan. Check-in for 1 night. Tour.
Day 3: Back to Manila.

Option 3 (no bangui windmills)
Day 1: Arrival to Vigan. Heritage Village at Night.
Day 2: Vigan tour
Day 3: back to manila

^haha... yun lang... pagod talaga si hubby mo non. i guess you can do option 1 or 2.  yung option 3 kasi medyo sad if you skip the windmills. feeling ko yun pa naman ang bebenta ng bongga sa bagets kasi yun ang wala dito sa manila talaga.

^ Oo nga sis eh. Kaya pinipilit kong makapunta sa Bangui Windmills. Kahit hindi na muna magbeach ang Laoag. Ask ko si hubby kung ano kaya ng powers nya at ng gas namin. LOL!

^stayed there nung chinese new year weekend. ok naman yung room, medyo maliit pero keri lang. malinis naman din yung room namin and may free wifi. may kasama ng buffet breakfast yung room. nothing really special sa food, so-so lang. not exceptionally good, but not really bad either.  for the price, ok na siya.

add ko lang pala, if hindi pa kayo naka-reserve, baka gusto niyo rin check yung balay da blas. mukhang okay yung place.

Seeking advice here.. i read through this thread already but I hope you guys can help me kasi my situation is kinda unique. I will be visiting Ilocos in end April for my prenup shoot (video) and we want to capture sana yung mga malawak and beautiful places. So far, I've shortlist Paoay Sand Dunes (iba pa ba yung La Luz sand dunes? Ano mas ok?), Bangui Wiindmills and Kapurpurawan Rock Formations. Any other suggestions for locations? Anyone heard of Adams? Also, wala ba silang pake dun kung magbayad kami ng normal entrance fee tapos magsshoot ng prenup, or iba fee pag ganun?

For other suggested locations, gusto namin nature lang (no props shoot ito) basta malawak and maganda. Hindi ko masyado trip yung ancient-looking buildings so walang ganun sa plan. Thursday to Saturday kami magsshoot so sana wala masyadong tao rin.

Also, i haven't booked our hotels yet. Our itinerary will look something like this. Saw 2-3 hotel suggestions here na but maybe meron pa kayo:

Day 1 - Travel to Ilocos, check-in a hotel near sand dunes (help please), then shoot in sand dunes until sunset
Day 2 - Check out of hotel, travel up to Bangui and Kapurpurawan then whole day shoot in the area, check-in nearby hotel (help please?)
Day 3 - Tentative pa depending on the other attractions but wholeday shoot until sunset then go back to Manila

^^ Thanks! we're just staying for the night since arriving late in Laoag and our driver said better to travel to Pagudpud in the morning. Just want something cheap, clean and accessible

Finally booked Kapuluan Vista, super excited!!
