Manila Pen vs Makati Shang

Hi mga Sis. Since 5star hotels naman ang topic dito ask ko na rin. We are considering Sofitel din kasi. Ask ko lang kung among the 3 hotels (Makati Shang/Pen/Sofitel) ano pinaka okay? And mas affordable? TIA.

^ sis it depends on what factor that makes it "okay" for you. nakapag ocular ako on all 3 hotels, in terms of affordability, i think sofitel yung pinaka sulit because maraming inclusions sa package. they all have a lot of different function rooms that you can choose from depende sa budget. hindi kami natuloy dito because the function rooms we wanted was just waayyyy overbudget. i suggest try visiting each hotel so you can judget it for yourself, its easier to decide kapag nakita mo na in actual

^Thanks sis. We really like talaga Pen. Kaya lang Pen is really expensive pala talaga. As far as package is concern cheaper nga ang Sofitel among the 3. Sana okay ang food sa Sofitel.

Between the two, Manila Pen is still more affordable, possibly because usually when you choose this venue, you will be choosing ala carte. Lesser people too, kasi I think the place can only accommodate around 350 guests whereas the 3 ballrooms of makati Shang can accommodate so much more. The waiting area is bigger though for cocktails, photo booth and other designs your florist may want to add. Go with Makati Shang na. Enjoyed the executive suite too! 👌

If you have lots of guests like more than 400, it's definitely Shang. Food is better in Shang too. I like Manila Pen's interiors better though

I enjoy the food in Makati Shang din, they are the best when it comes to chinese lauriat. I had the best cereal prawns, noodles, fried cod fish with light soy sauce, beef something, cold cuts, can't remember the rest.  That was 2 years ago so I forgot the menu na pero satisfying talaga siya and we were so happy with the turn out.

Based sa mga comments mga sis so talagang it's between Makati Shang and Pen lang talaga. Wala ako masyadong nababasang rave about Sofitel's food rin. Pero visit namen 3 hotels soon. Tignan namen kung ano mas feel namin

^^ I hated the food in Sofitel.  It was such a waste of "angpao" gift hehe    Imagine giving at least 10k for gift and the food was iffy?  Kaya lang friend kasi, oh well

Done with my wedding last may 23..reception in manila peninsula in conservatory...they exceeded our expectation...very elegant and the food were superb..highly recommended..

Conservatory in Manila Pen is really a good option if  you're having an intimate wedding

Sofitel is really more affordable the package has so many inclusions and you get more food with the same price per head.

However, Pen and Makati Shang are really a notch up. Makati is still Makati even if there are newer hotels around like Marriott... The prestige of a Makati location is still unbeatable in my humble opinion.

hello sis hindi me maka PM.Our AE is Frances very liable and friendly she will suggest to cover something that you will not use in the package.hubby and i were very happy with her..thats why we give something to her as a token of great service.for starbucks and lechon ofcourse theres a corkage fee and mobile bar is not allowed.we booked during last year manila pen bridal fair weve got a free room..

Agree. Honestly, I love sofitel's view better than makati shang but their food is so so.

Hi sis deedeedee! sa conservatory din ba kayo? so far sa lahat ng napuntahan namen talagang pinaka maganda conservatory. kaya lang around 300 guests kami hindi kasya. kung intimate wedding lang kami.. haha! ganda talaga conservatory! super classy!

I so agree with Chili1113. Even the traffic is terrible, theres still no place like Makati for events like this.

Sissies, how much na yung per head for 2016 in Manila Pen?

His sis j.adore!  For Pen,  if you're booking the Conservatory, you need to hit the minimum revenue of 552,600php.  And then I think it's about 3,500 Php per head, depending on the type of menu you're getting.  Just be aware that the Conservatory can only accommodate a maximum of 200 guests.  If you're going for the Rigodon Ballroom, you need to hit about 840,000Php minimum revenue, I think.

Their prices will increase by 5% come June 2016 but our AE allowed us to pay the minimum revenue so that we're not affected by the price increase since our wedding is on October pa naman
