don't worry sis yumi03, pareho lang tayo. Ako nga dati as in ang negative ang financial status ko. ngayon, trying to change my habits. kaya natin to! :)

Yup, i'm trying to change my spending habits din . Hindi naman ako negative pero wala akong assets like properties, jewelries, etc. and very small pa lang ang savings ko. Hopefully once I stop being 'magastos' I can achieve my financial goals.

Inspired with the posts. 2014 was not so eventful moneywise, but I'm happy I paid off my debts.

2015 will be all about growing my money from itself.

- From living within 50% of salary, get it down to living within 30%
- Set a "fun" fund/budget, wala ako nito, merong times last year that I deprived myself tapos biglang binge shopping. NOOO!
- Start stock investing
- Top-up MF
- Learn more about growing money

Sali ako mga sis. Like some of you, late na rin ako nag start ng savings and investments. I had to support my family kasi. So far, may mga naumpisahan naman ako this year, sana maituloy ko flawlessly next year hehe. Next year, ito ang aking mga targets:

- continue payment for condo
- continue investing sa COL
- continue UITF sa BDO
- continue buying employee stocks
- continue support for parents & grandma
- pay yr 2 of memorial plan
- pay yr 2 of insurance/VUL
- hanap pa ng items to sell para sa small business and start selling baked goodies na rin pandagdag sa income
- tuloy lang ang tipid tipid tipid at save save save! :)

I'm already 25, but still living from paycheck to paycheck :(

BUT that would end soon. VERY SOON. Actually, since the past few months naman, I haven't spent too much on things I don't really need. So good job on that. Hehe.

My next move is to finally have an emergency fund. I've already setup a BPI Saveup account (tied with my BPI Direct Payroll account). So every 1st and 16th of the month, BPI will automatically push 55.6% (around 27.8% each) of my salary from my BPI Direct account to my BPI Direct Saveup account. So hassle free na pag-iipon. This setup will start on January 2015.

I would love to save more, but upon re-computation, I believe 55% is my limit. This is on my salary pa lang naman.

I am also planning to put up an online store. The bulk earnings of which, I will save up lang din. I'm also doing freelance work on the side, yung earnings, save lang din.

Puro save, no? I have yet to learn how to invest and buy stocks pa e. As of now kasi, what I need is money that I can easily withdraw and use, since I plan to go back to school in 2016. I need to be able to pay for my tuition and support myself, if in case di ko kayanin magwork (fulltime) because of school schedule.

Let's see how this one goes.

EDIT:

Someone PM'ed me where I opened my BPI Direct SaveUp account. Can't reply to the PM (perhaps because of my newbie status), so I'll reply here instead. I signed up for this online lang. Mabilis lang, a few clicks here and there. Tapos after a few days, activated na at nakikita ko na sa BPIexpressonline account ko. Just be sure you have a BPI Direct Account -- ito kasi yung magiging source of funds mo na ipangttranser sa SaveUp. I got my BPI Direct account naman online, picked it up sa isang branh malapit sa amin. Baka ma-off topic tayo.

This is such a good thread :)

Here's mine and hoping to come back to this thread by end of 2015 feeling fulfilled.

1. Continue with stocks
2. Open an account with Security Bank (UITF)
3. Open a mutual fund account with Philequity
4. Another round of 52-week money saving challenge! I made it this year! :)
5. 2nd year of my VUL payments
6. maybe buy gold for investment
7. Save as much as I can!  ;)

It feels good to know I am on track in doing something for myself. I hope I am not too late for all these. Good luck, ladies!

I have written down all of our Financial Plans, too. On a high level, it would be to go back to 40% allotment from 30% for additional savings, investments and insurance since we will now have 2 kids so we also have to prepare for kid #2's education...and I intend to religiously track expenses again this time.

I have also started with the 52 week challenge.. exciting :)

sis starbitee, where can you invest in gold?

wow mga sis, bilib ako sa inyo -- you are able to save the majority of your salary! nakaka-inspire. kami ng hubby ko, we both work but we live on one income (sweldo nya) and we put all of my salary in savings/investments. so i guess parang 50% na rin, although technically hindi kasi he earns more than me, which means we spend more (his salary) than we save (my salary). dahil sa sinabi nyo, i think i will make some adjustments sa budget namin para 50% talaga ang nase-save/invest. thanks for the idea.
