^ True to some extent. Hindi naman scam ang BPI-Philam, but their hard-sell on their insurance could be a turn-off.

Depende kasi sa performance ng mga investments na nasa fund. If most are allocated in stocks or equities, you should know that the stock market is vulnerable and you gain wins as well as suffer losses. If the investment underperforms in the course of 5 years, then you might need to pay more years until the investment can be left alone.

Check your policy - usually there's a clause of a limited number of days to refund and cancel the policy if you change your mind.

In the end the insurance firm has to commit to its promise to release claims in times of need.

^at Ms. Lavender:
Hi Sis! I got the same plan as you, Build Life Plus. Just last week. The only difference is yung sakin 1,800/mo for 10 years. Being a "yes" person, I must admit na on-the-spot ako ni agent na inoffer to sakin, nung nagpareplace ako ng ATM card.  I have the same sentiment ("nagoyo ni agent"). A few days after kasi medyo may pagsisisi. Hahaha. She sent me a copy of the application form via e-mail, but when I asked for the yearly computation table (interests, blah blah) that she showed me when I signed-up (hubby wants to review the plan kasi), internal daw yun so she can't send me the file. Saka wala syang diniscuss na additional charges eh (being part of the marketing/sales strategy siguro) . Naka auto debit din from my SA. May way po ba to monitor yung hulog monthly for this plan?
From what I gleaned sa app form, amount of coverage (Accident & Health) is 500K. The investment part yung di ko maintindihan, that's why I want hubby to check sana. Sabi kasi ni agent, as far as I remembered, may 500K pa from investment, so total 1M yung marereceive ko (?? not really sure if that's how it works nga). Though ang habol ko talaga is insurance for myself, being a part-time freelancer/full-time housewife and hindi regular ang income. I'm still waiting for the policy document. I understand may 15 days cooling-off period from date of receipt of policy document, so pwede pa magcancel and apply for a refund.

Just a heads-up on BPI-Philam, hindi na-discuss sakin ng agent yung 5% deduction na tawag nila is premium charge. I've only known about this after one year, kasi nagtataka ako bakit yung invested amount ko is lesser than the deposited amount.

At may 5% deduction ako per top-up. yung 5% na yun is for processing daw nila. Pero ang laki ng 5%!!! hindi basta basta kikitain yan ng investment mo for 5 years!

Kaya i think naloko ako ng BPI-Philam. If you're after the insurance and secondary lang ang investment then that's ok, i guess. Pero malaki ang 5% na premium, please check your policies, before making a decision.
