go sis basahin mo hahaha. actually all mariana zapata are good! nakakahinayang na 5 lang ata book niya. sana dumami haha.

^ sis mej nateary eye nga ako dun sa making faces. tapos i like din the twist about kay bailey and dun sa list niya. when i first looked at the table of contents kasi para nga siyang to-do list talaga. i think my fave character is actually bailey. i loved na he's a huge part of the book and i love his character. sa kanya ka may pinakamakukuhang lessons. sige i'll add the law of moses sa list ko and si amy harmon plus si mariana zapata sa mga "to follow authors". thanks!
my fave lines sa making faces is this:

i dont think we get answers to every question. we dont get to know all the why's. but i think we will look back at the end of our lives, if we do the best we can, and we will see that the things that we begged God to take from us, the things we cursed him for, the things that made us turn our backs on him or any belief in him, are the things that were the biggest blessings, the biggest opportunities for growth.

^ di baa sis. nakakaloka sa kilig. tapos di siyang jejeng kiliiiiiiiig. omg i love you kulti. and i love sal so much tooo. their chemistry is just out of this world! for me, there was never a dull moment sa Kulti.

Thrown of Glass, Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. I like the first 2 but the 3rd book was such a drag. I did not read the 4th book because I was so disappointed by the third book. I feel like I wasted my time (but I can't help thinking about it naman!)

3. the deal by elle kennedy - 
i didn't finish it, so "cliche" na ng mga 70% and less story more sex scenes na. i would've gone on if mej unique or intriguing yung story but i can pretty much predict what the rest of the story would be so yeah.

Oh, hindi mo nagustuhan sis? Actually natapos ko nga yung hanggang 3rd book, hehe... I agree na cliche yung mga sex scenes and even the love story, but what I like about it was how the characters dealt with their family, sports, and other personal struggles. Nagandahan ako sa qualities ng mga characters.

KULTI by Mariana Zapata

I LOVED IT!!! Started reading it with no expectations whatsoever kasi puro pangit mga nababasa ko lately, lalo yung mga love stories puro cliche, kaumay na, with annoying heroines. But Sal, sobrang gusto ko sya. She is strong, driven, funny and kind. Ang tingin ko sa kanya pwedeng maging friend in real life haha. Hindi sya yung OA na heroine na gusto mong sabunutan, gaya nga ng sabi ni iwannabeasupermodel! She and Kulti are so perfect for each other. I love their chemistry! I love the fact that he is 13 years older than Sal. Grabe towards the end yung mga revelations nya kay Sal. I've never encountered a story quite like this.

And yes, this is sooooo far from mga yucky jejeng kilig.

Fan din ako ng slow-building romances. Gustong gusto ko yan kasi mas heightened ang anticipation. Ang galing ng author kasi well-developed ang mga characters, talagang makikita mo where they are coming from, even the minor ones. I also loved Sal's dad! He was a hoot! Ang haba nga ng book, but ni minsan I never got bored. Mas lalo ko pa nga pinatagal tapusin because I didn't want it to end.

As for Kulti mismo, hayyyy my heart. Ikaw na ang official book crush of all time ko! There are no words.

Thank you, thank you, sisters, for this reco and for introducing me to Mariana Zapata's work. I'm already looking forward to re-reading it. Pero basahin ko muna Wall of Winnipeg and Me

^^ i made to mga 70% of the book and parang they just kept on having sex sis so i stopped na. Haha.

^ naku sis i'm so glad you loved it!! They're (especially sal) a breath of fresh air. Para kasing goal ko yung attitude ni sal. Na she's just really trying to be a nice person. And yes ang ganda rin ng role ng dad ni sal nuh. Best supporting character!! I love the father-daughter relationship. Go read wall of winnipeg din! And the other mariana zapata books.

Re-read Kulti over the weekend -  Yes, adik lang 

Hopefully, maging popular si Mariana Z dito sa Philippines para naman makapunta sya for a book signing.  Kaya lang her books are not available here.  I checked last year with Fullybooked and they do not carry her books  I had to order pa sa Amazon to buy the Wall of Winnipeg and Me.  Ewan ko lang bakit di ko nasabay ang Kulti, argh!

oh this book is so very well written. this is how a book should be written! a lot of times i found myself highlighting a line just because i love the play of words. btw this will be a good movie, i think.

ngayon i'm thinking which amy harmon will i go for next. the story of samuel and josie (running barefoot) kasi natouch yung story nila dito or yung Laws of moses 2. The song of david is about tag di ba but may malaking part si moses, sabi sa goodreads it is narrated by moses and tag daw. mej novel yun.

btw i love na may "medical touch" ang mga stories in amy harmon (from what i've read so far ), like ng erb duchenne of bailey and crack babies (there is such thing).

After You by Jojo Moyes - 

Me Before You,  is too precious and perfect for me. It's the first chic-lit book that landed on my favorite books list. It didn't need a sequel. It's not even an ideal sequel to MBY. I'll just pretend that this book does not exists.

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray - 

The plot is promising and exciting but I don't think it has been used to its full potential. I mean it's still entertaining (or maybe I just love multi-dimension stories a lot) but it revolves too much around the love triangle which I didn't expect at all because of the summary. I got the twilight vibe a bit, which I'm not really fond of. I still loved it though and will now read the sequel.

^^sis, The Song of David is as equally good as The Law of Moses. The Bird and The Sword is a fantasy romance novel and truly captivating. What I like about Amy Harmon is she's not scared to try other genres. Am waiting for her historical romance novel to be published this year din.

^ ay sis agree ako. Kaso hindi ako makakapanood ng movie kasi hindi ko matapos-tapos basahin ang book. Parang ang sad lang kasi ng kwento kaya palagi akong napuputol tuwing nagbabasa. Mag-seset na talaga ako ng deadline nito.

sadly this book fell short of my mariana zapata expectations. maybe because there was already a sex scene ng around 50% of the story? and then they just kept on going at it uuugh. i can tolerate the crude language until they became intimate and then it just became too grating for me. i prefer the "classic" mariana z na the sex scene is crammed on the last chapter. si dex locke din di ko masyadong feel, i dont like guys with that kind of personality. gag gag gag.

Sinabi nyo pa haha.  Tagal ko na nabasa ang Me Before You, 2013 pa.  Pero hanggang ngayon pag naiisip ko yung story, buntong hininga talga ako. Ni-research ko pa ang Dignitas nun right after reading it.  Mga 1 month bago ako naka-recover sa story

Addendum:
It bugs me though (as in iniisip ko pa rin the next day after) kasi di sinabi after how many years nadeadz si ano. Of course, a cancer patient will always be a cancer patient. Nagimprove nga but that's not so much as an improvement. I think the key idea there which made it so painful is the fact that it happened on a young patient. So idk, i felt i'm left hanging in that part, parang walang closure/completion tuloy. Sinabi yung ibang namatay but not the most important one! Tapos i'm sure this is the last na ng story na to.
May nagtanong kay amy harmon if she'll make a story about henry, sabi niya hindi na, she feels it's a complete story already and she'll have to explain stuffs about Tag if she chose to make a henry story.
So hanging talaga gaaaah!
