EL NIDO Thread 5

Close na Thread 4 mga sis

http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php?topic=274234.new;topicseen#new

Hopefully sissies natin na galing sa El Nido can share their trip so can help other sisters who are going to El Nido palang.  ;)

Post away mga sis.  :)

---------------------------------------

Finally, we decided to book El Nido Aqua Hotel na. They also offer van transfer pero pinag iisipan ko pa.. I asked them kung ano yung van nila, it's Toyota Hi Ace Yr 2012 model.. di ko pa kasi alam if okay ang legroom ng Hi Ace na yan at kung lahat ng upuan eh may head rest.. long trip kaya kelangan comfortable sa byahe.  8) so excited!

I'm actually thinking of trying out the roro bus this time kasi minsan sobrang cramped yung van tapos nakakahilo talaga. Torture. Ang pangit lahat ng van na nasakyan namin except for this one grandia na hindi ko naman nakuha yung contact number.

^ok sana talaga Grandia sis. I've tried Toyota Hi Ace (old model i think) sa trip namin Sagada, jusko torture considering na sobrang haba ng byahe, masikip at walang head rest ang mga upuan. Dusa. Kaya this time, dapat yung sasakyan eh comfortable.

Btw, ETA namin sa PP is 6:40am, so at most we'll arrive El Nido by 2pm.. Mga sis what do you suggest na pwede namin gawin for that afternoon.. any beach that we can go, best for sunset watching.. or anything na pwede isiksik sa oras na yan. :)

tia!  ;)

-------

Sis hisana, I checked agad the daytripper and mukhang okay and comfy.. just the van i need for the trip. Thanks for mentioning.  ;)  Hmmm, made me want to book!

I'm planning to get Lexus Shuttle's Joylong van for our transfers.. 13pax kasi kami. Sana lang reliable sila. May certain schedules lang kasi ang Daytripper. Oh well.

^yes sis may fixed sked sila and i learned from them that you cannot choose between a van and the coach. depende daw yung vehicle sa sked nila. . can only pre-select the vehicle if the trip is chartered (privately rented for your own group). Oh well, yung holyweek sked namin is not open yet, kaya wl have to wait around Jan when the skeds daw are up.  :-\

Im looking at their time of departure, coming from PP 8am earliest nila..
Hmmm. isip-isip.  ???

I just checked Daytripper's website and remembered why i didn't book a private charter w/ them. It's because their largest vehicle is an 11-seater coach eh 13pax kami. Lexus has an 18-seater Joylong van which i chose para maluwag and mas comfy during the looooong ride.

Are there any good and bad feedbacks on Lexus's privately-chartered vans? They're not much talked about here so i'm quite uneasy.

Or do you know of any other private charters that have huge vans/coaches that can accommodate 13pax?

Marimegmeg beach is just a (relatively) short trike ride away. Medyo ok yung sunset. It may not be the best beach out there, but I really liked it.

^this is what i wanted to know, too. I asked for feedback in Thread 4 pero isa lang yata nag-reply sakin, haha! We'll stay for 4 nights so we want to have dinner in 4 different restos (mostly seafood sana).

Anyway, based on all my web reading so far, here's my shortlist:
- Alternative
- Altrove
- Art Cafe
- Squidos

I initially included Sea Slugs, but ditched it due to a GT feedback. :) besides, i only have 4 slots so i hope i got the best 4. :)

We're going to El Nido on Thursday via PPS din. Wala pa akong van :(
Nawala kasi yung contact namin before, you can check PPS govt site sa tourism section nila. Yung friends ko dadating ng umaga, while a friend and I, 5pm pa.

Kelan kayo? Try Ricson's for island hopping, sila yung nagaccomodate sa amin before, mababait at cool :D

Pinoproblema ko rin yang van transfers na yan. its our 2nd day now in el nido at sadly dahil sa bagyong ruby all tours were cancelled due to the advise of the coast guards. nakakalungkot man isipin, nag gala gala na lang kami sa city proper. today we went to nacpan.  sobrang ganda.. fine sand at walang mga floating seaweeds like sa town.but since umuualan napaka putik at rockyroads.. sabi nila if it was on a sunny ok lang daw..it was tough choice.

we stayed at el gordo's adventure house..1private room nasa 2,5k. pag dorm room 700 lang. owners were superb..beds are comfy..but a bit far mga 15mins walk sa proper.

Give us feedback sa restos that you'll get to try ha (and any dishes you either recommend for us to try or advice us to stay away from, hahaha!).

Go to Squido's! the one on the hill top. their vegetarian pizza is worth every step LOL. I'm serious. :)

may duo din na nagpeperform mostly reggae, the one doing the vocals is beyond average, and he can really sing ala michael bolton :D

haven't tried sea slugs but they're highly recommended and true enough, they're usually packed. checked their menu, mukhang ok naman even the prices.

Don't miss tour C!

Okay din artcafe, kami lang yata pinoydun when we went there. i only ordered the usuals so feeling ko mahal sya haha!

may smoking area ;D

If punta kayo matinloc shrine, puntahan nyo yung abondoned hotel, it was built 30 years ago pero never nag-operate dahil hindi binigyan ng business permit (politics!!!).

always ask the tour guide where's the best angle to take photos ;D

ingat sa island hopping! maalon last week and during the tour ang daming struggle. :)
