^My H2b loves Auntie Anne's and ngayon ko lang nalaman na may food booth din pala sila! Thanks mga sis! Ano kaya ang pinaka ok na package for 200 guests?

Mga sis my wedding is at 3PM and dinner will be served around 6:30-7PM, is it okay if i serve the following for cocktail hour?

-chocolate chip cookies
-mixed nuts
-chocolate loaf bread
 -fruit juice

Another set I'm considering is "native" foods since sa province yung wedding like suman or puto or kutsinta something like that. Haven't decided yet which one.

But is too much or too little?

 :D

Hi sis MS_JanDel, the native foods option sounds yummy! And more filling considering the break is a bit long.

we're having Mushroom Duxelles, Roast Pork Tartlettes, Tapas board with assorted cheese and cold cuts, Tuna Poke, and Lechon during our cocktail hour. My wedding coordinator suggested serving the Lechon during cocktails coz my dinner menu was a lot na daw. I hope it's enough though. I don't want anyone to go hungry.

Still have to coordinate for the drinks, but we're serving free-flowing sparkling rosé.

^That sounds so yummy shopaholic!! =) =)

I think any wedding that starts in the afternoon need heavy cocktail food. The only exception are weddings that start at 5, 6, 7 pm.

Definitely chips, nuts, cookies, chocolates, crackers, doughnuts are not enough. It doesn't matter how fancy and branded the coffees, juices, shakes booths are. What's important is that it was to be filling enough to be considered a heavy merienda. You don't need a lot of varieties, as long as there is at least 1 heavy dish around like sandwiches. or mini pizzas, or sausages.

Ive attended weddings wherein only chips and nuts were served and that is really not even considered REAL food. Another thing is sometimes there were sandwiches nga, but the quantity was too little like the caterer only allotted  1/4th sandwich per guest. Needless to say a lot of the guests didn't have anything to eat since the earlier guests ate 2-3 pcs each.

^ So true. Nuts and sweets won't suffice.  We attended a wedding sa province.  They (the B+G) saw na we served boxes of Rowena's buko tarts outside the church during our wedding, aside from our cocktails sa venue. They also did that but served Ilocos mini bibingka's and small empanadas, unfortunately it wasn't enough. Plus there were reports that the suppliers (otd + photo and video) hogged the boxes daw. Hindi na namin sinabi sa friend ko pero we got so hungry that time.  It was a 50 minute journey from church to venue and vice versa. Pag dating namin sa reception venue, yung cocktails naubos na. Ang natira lang eh yung oyster ceviche. I think I downed like 3 spoons that time. hehe. Antemano pa yun, on the way back, we stopped the car to buy fishball and kikiam. I ended up downing glasses of wine and going back to our room to eat some chichirya we had.

Kaya it's quite important talaga to have cocktails that  would fortify you.

I haven't finalised the cocktail in our reception. I thought of mga booth din but they are kinda strict and may corkage lahat. Allowed ang Starbucks but mobile bar hindi pwede. I'm letting go of Starbucks na rin kasi the hotel can serve coffee naman. Since its a summer wedding, I thought of FIC ice cream, if hindi pwede sa hotel, may multi purpose right in front of the church, I can ask if we can put it there. And I plan to give out bottled water after the wedding. I don't like my guests getting irritated due to scorching heat. Sa lounge area ko baka a little formal na cocktails naman, since nalamigan na sila. Hahaha!

^ check with the church if they will allow you to serve food outside the church. Our church has a plaza with lots of big trees, we are planning to serve merienda under the shade of the trees.

^ like ko din ang auntie anne's! BER month kami kaya okay siya. Thanks for the infos sis NCS.

^Missus O - sis I like the idea of giving foods sa guests after the ceremony, initially kasi plan ko to give out drinks lang. sino ang nagdistribute ng mga buko tarts and drinks mo after the church ceremony? Did you put it inside a snack bag pa ba? or pass around ng nasa boxes lang?

^ We brought 2 coolers and filled them with ice and water bottles.  The buko tarts were bought that morning and was stowed sa van.  Outside the church, naka park na sa driveway yung van and nilabas na nung driver yung 2 cooler namin (plus we still had some boxes of water inside). Yung coordinator got the tart from the driveway. And nagstart na silang mamigay. Our tita's helped in the distribution also.  We didn't bother to set up a table. There were just assigned people to circulate the boxes of tarts. Kaya sa post nup pics namin outside the church, nakakatuwa, yung iba super ngiti talaga, tpos in one hand may tart hehe.

^thanks missus O! I imagined your guests na all smiles :) naisip ko na ganun din kami ng family ko after the sunday mass ,we usually go straight to the mall to eat.
I'll do ask my coordinator kung ano ma-advise niya since 10mins lang din naman ang layo ng church sa reception namin. Thanks again!

We had a 3:30pm wedding and 6:30pm open buffet (Vikings Venue)
travel time 5-10mins from Church to Venue
so we estimated 5pm guests would start arriving and not a good thing to have them wait without anything to munch on man lang.

We got something they wont feel busog but a little to fill up the tummy.

Last minute into the preps i'm super glad i got Pilipinas Serve drinks. Its not a mobile bar but rather a beverage bar supplier.
They served different kinds of juices That is non traditional (not the usual powdered OJs)

We got virgin brewed tea, grape pop soda, mango lime fizz. They setup based on motif too. Super super happy we got them.

We also got slammin burgers for slider burgers as in 1:1 ratio hahaha. We dont want the guest to really busog

Going through the photos i'm super glad i booked them! Super duper sulit.

Subscribing,

anyone tried to use street food carts such as fishball, taho, dirty ice cream, popcorn and the likes. Parang mas bet ko ito.

^ I'm planning to do this (street food). My coord is yet to give me a list of suppliers

We decided to serve merienda instead of having a cocktail hour before reception kasi I figured it out be cheaper. Saka my family does not really like food typically served during cocktail hour.

Our venue wants to charge 35k for 2 hrs unlimited drinks for 100 pax, no food pa yan. I think hiring the churh hall (3k) plus getting food suppliers will cost less than that.

Another reason for pushing the merienda earlier is so the guest will not be overly full for dinner.

I attended a wedding na ang cocktail food nila Dirty Ice Cream, Popcorn and small chocolate bars. :) Na-enjoy naman namin! :) Bilin din sakin na shempre yung cocktail food bagay din sa theme ng wedding para mas cohesive. Haha! (Arte lang!)

Madalas ko ma-attendan all kinds of nuts or chips! -- I guess ok lang if malapit na yung dinner para di naman filling. :)

Pag matagal na hintayan okay klang siguro kung medyo heavy yung cocktail :)

We had a probinsya wedding mga sis. Apart from the mini clubhouse sandwiches and 3 types of juices provided by our in house caterer, we decided to have bibingka and puto bumbong with coffee and tea booth as our cocktail hour food. Di namin inexpect na magiging hit sya sa guests. Everyone enjoyed it. Ubos lahat. We just talked to a tindera sa tabi ng simbahan as our supplier. Instructed to cut them in mini sizes. Very minimal gastos pero isa to sa sulit supplier namin. :) Ayos lang sya para sa 1 hour gap ng ceremony and reception. Nakakain naman din sila ng dinner. :)

Hi mga sis, would anyone know a supplier of good lechon? Planning to add this food to our cocktail hour.

From my caterer (K by Cunanan), it's around 10k, just want to compare rates :) Thank you

maedonnas our coordinator recommended Abub's Cebu Lechon since they also order from Abub's even for their personal events. At nasarapan yung guests namin :) At first, Elar's yung choice namin pero apparently hindi sila nagdedeliver daw, pick up only.

^^ K by C's lechon supplier is Elars. Where is your wedding? I think they deliver in limited areas only like in my venue for example.  It's possible to order directly from Elars but it's actually cheaper if you get it from K. Elars gave me the same price as K by C's charge but with delivery fee.
