Hi sisses, already consulted the thread about credit cards, mukhang okay naman HSBC and BPI, which I both have. Haha. Thinking if I should bring both (MC kasi yung isa and the other Visa, baka may promos or anything), but for sisses who travel to HK frequently, do you have any inputs/experience with these credit cards?

I had a bad experience with BPI. I notified them beforehand thru email that I would be traveling abroad and I got a message that I must call their hotline. However I called twce and on both occassions ay may scheduled maintenace ang system nila. Last chance I called was before we leave the house for our flight which is early morning, again may scheduled maintenance nanaman daw sila. Worse is hindi pa sinabi sakin ng telebanker that I should nominate a PIN if I need to make cash advance. I end up withdawing from Cirrus ATM machine which incurred transaction charges. I had to withdraw multiple times coz we were there for more than a week and ATM withdrawal limit in HK is 2,000HKD only.

I got charged on ATM machine withdrawals and I got charged again whenever I need to use my credit card.

So if you guys are using your BPI ATM/MC, proceed with caution na lang.

It would be more prudent to change your PHP to HKD in Czarina or Sanry's (check their respective websites for branches). I have been doing this  everytime I travel in the past,  except on our last trip which I unfortunately put too high hopes and confidence with BPI. With Sanry's, call them before you exchange your money to know if they have enough HKD supply. For those near Greenhills shopping area, they have two branches. One is in Unimart and the other one is 2/F near the escalator sa may bilihan ng mobile phones (near entrance to tiangges/Theatermall)

LOL! Sis, ganito rin nangyari samin. Naglalaro pa kami ng Battleship dun sa (bago sumakay ng bus). Lingon lingon ako sa screen to check , nagtataka ako bakit hindi pa boarding. Paglingon ko ulit: FINAL CALL. Takbuhan kami tapos na-realize namin, hindi pa pala kasi yun yung gate namin. Haha. This also happened to my sister before daw. Kakatawa lang, pero nakaka-stress siya. Kami yung last na sumakay sa plane.

Nakaka-stress nga sis. Takbo din kami papuntang bus. Tapos ang haba pa ng pila. Buti medyo sanay ako sa mga ganung pila dahil kakasakay ng MRT. LOL! 5 minutes na lang boarding na. Narealized ko, nung arrival pala sa HKIA, sumakay pala kami ng train to get our baggage. So talagang separate na lugar yung arrival gate sa boarding gate.

Iba iba yung airline.

CebuPac - 2013 trip - di kami nag-shuttle. Nasa Terminal 1 ang boarding gate namin.
CebuPac - 2014 trip - nag-shuttle kami, both arrival and departure.
PAL - 2015 trip - Terminal 2 ang checked-in pero Terminal 1 ang boarding gate, wala din shuttle.

So best na 3 hrs before the flight andun na kayo para di na ma-hassle pag pa-board na.

would it really take us more than 6 hours to go to hong kong disneyland and ngongpin360?
yun kasi nakikita ko sa googlemaps eh. huhuh.
if ever totoo, san mas okay magstay if we want to visit HK disneyland and ngongpin 360?

^ sis, baka "walking" route yang 6hours, hehe.. commute by bus or train is roughly an hour to an hour and a half lang..

Oo nga sis Heatherette, need talaga 3 hours before the flight. And dapat tanungin agad kung saan yung boarding area.

^Minsan wala din kasi pang boarding gate kaya maigi din bantayan yung board nila at bigla bigla nalang sumusulpot yung boarding gate dun lol

Di kasama yung oras ng naglalakad kayo papunta or paglipat ng train:

TST to DL by MTR - 39 mins

DL to Tung Chung station (dun yung cable car going to NP) by MTR - 16 mins

I highly suggest you download the MTR app, malaking tulong yan.

sissies, sino naka pag try mag ding ding tram? from tst mag ferry kami para sa central kami sasakay, any suggestions na babaan namin na must visit pa sa HK or tapusin nalang namin? balik nalang kami kung san kami sumakay dun narin kami bumaba ilang oras kaya yun... TIA

^Nakapag-dingding tram na kami dati sis, we rode from Sheung Wan going to Causeway Bay. galing kami ng Sheung Wan kasi may pinuntahan kami dun. For sightseeing, okay na tapusin yung dingding tram tapos MTR or tram ulit pabalik.

Nung sa amin, walang name ng mga stations, sinilip silip na lang namin, nung nakita na namin yung mga malls sa Causeway, bumaba na kami.

Pero wag yata yung Happy Valley na route sakyan nyo ha, iba yun.

Nakapag-Ding Ding Tram din kami sis. Galing kami Nanlian Garden. After Nanlian, We took MTR to North Point via Tseung Kwan O Line. Then we ride, Ding Ding Tram marked Western Market (pwede din Kennedy Town). Dapat bababa kami somewhere going to The Peak Terminus. Pero ang nangyari natapos namin yung ride which is sa Western Market. From there, nagtaxi na lang kami papuntang The Peak Terminus.

^ah ok... thanks sis... twice nalang namin gawin mag dingding tram 1st day (me & parents) at before kami mag macau on the 4th day (marami na kami dito) wala na ako maisip na gagawin namin para marelax na sila sa magkasunod naming DL at OP... mura lang naman yung tram at ferry

Also, if we go to Ngong Ping from HKIA, where should we leave our luggage (cheaper and more accessible)? Sa Tung Chung Cable Car terminal locker ba or sa citygate outlet mall locker?

^^ano ba yan sis Heatherette lahat nalang under renov sa punta namin gusto pa naman magvisit ng friend ko sa NP pina reserve ko na sila nag tix sa GC tagal pa naman nag isip nun kung crystal o standard cabin kukunin hahah, buti nalang last year nakapunta na kami ni hubby... thanks sa info...

Nung nag Ding Ding Tram kasi kami, ginawa namin syang means of transportation from Nanlian Garden going to Peak Terminus. Eh medyo napasarap kasi yung sight seeing namin.  Ang saya lang kasi habang nakasakay ka kaya hindi kami nakababa sa tamang stop which sa Central. So nauwi kami sa dulo sa Western Market.
