mga sis, pa-help naman po for those who have tried to visit HK in an 8-hour stopover.. We will be coming from Dubai - HK - Manila.. Food trips and spots near HK airport lang balak namin..

hi! i'll be back in hk this jan 23 - 25 (3 days 2 nights) with my friends. question lang, sa Tin Hau pa rin ba yun bus to Ocean Park? di pa ba bumalik sa Admiralty?

also, on the 3rd day kc yun ocean park namin, and that's also the day of my flight back to manila. ETD is 9:55PM, cebu pac

planning to leave Ocean Park between 4 - 4:30PM, estimate ko dapat around 7PM nasa airport na ako. kaya ba ito? sabi minsan traffic daw papunta Tin Hau from ocean park inaabot 1-2hrs. eh i'll be leaving my luggage in our hostel in TST. babalikan ko lang para i pick-up then straight to airport na. hindi ba ako mahuhuli sa check in time if ganito gawin ko? or do you suggest na dalhin ko na yun luggage sa ocean park and make use of their locker na lang. then ride MTR then airport express from Hong Kong Station straight to the airport?

and sa entrance/exit gate ba ng ocean park nandun na kaagad yun bus na sasakyan pabalik ng MTR? bus 629 pa rin ba yun number?

-- food trip: not much sa area. Sa airport na lang mismo, hehe..
-- tourist spot: best bet is Ngong Ping (Giant Buddha). Alanganin na Disneyland e, though pwede din siguro ipilit if sakto sa opening hours ang layover nyo and if wala masyadong pila sa immigration.

^^took the bus 629 from admiralty (early this month). if you would want a longer stay at OP, like what I suggested a few posts back, if your airline allows it try to do the airport express check-in the night before your flight. This way from OP you can go straight to the airport.

thanks sis hunny_ally! at least now sa Admiralty na ulit siya, how long is the travel ba to oceanpark to/from admiralty mtr? mga 1 hr lang naman di ba? di naman traffic when you did this? cebu pac kasi ako pabalik, di sila kasali sa list ng puwede na earlier airport express check in =(

n bus 629 din pabalik right? sa entrance/exit gate ng ocean park din ang sakayan?

Hi sisses, already consulted the thread about credit cards, mukhang okay naman HSBC and BPI, which I both have. Haha. Thinking if I should bring both (MC kasi yung isa and the other Visa, baka may promos or anything), but for sisses who travel to HK frequently, do you have any inputs/experience with these credit cards?

^as i can remember may mga stores allows you na bayaran/convert it into peso.

we will be in hk next week and we will be staying at Marco polo in harbourcity. last year we rode the airport express and the complimentary bus to the hotel (Novotel), this time we'll avail of Marco polo's airport shuttle.

@minnie99, per my experience, visa cc is widely used than MasterCard in hk. kabaliktaran naman ng singapore. I suggest you bring both visa and MasterCard cc.

Thanks, sis. Baka ganun na nga lang, need to inform pa kasi the bank. Sabi naman sa isang thread okay naman daw rates ng HSBC and BPI. Though I was initially leaning towards HSBC just because "Hong Kong Shanghai"! Hahahaha!

Will be there next week too! Lapit na, but stil kinakabahan sa temp.

^no prob sis. you may want to bring down jacket, preferably with hood - ultra light, packable and warm. underneath you may layer it with fleece sweater. ako I'm really ginawin, kaya I'll use thermal undies or thermal leggings and leg warmers. flat leather boots and thermal socks as well. wool trench coats are smart to look at but personally i like down better kasi nanunuot pa rin ang lamig thru wool. my hubby pa naman wants an adventure daw at ocean park e ganitong time talagang chilly dun.

Wow, thanks sis! Ako rin super lamigin I have down jacket pero hindi siya yung light, as in ito yung kailangan ipack sa vacuum bag. Is this too much? I don't have a lighter one, so my alternative for this is leather or fleece jacket, then sweater and heattech (sleeveless na though, di ko naabutan yung long sleeves) underneath. Sa legs I will bring thermal pants (M&S) naman, so I've got that covered. Hehe.

^haha ganun din ka kapal ang down ko sis but I'll not bring it this time. I'm leaning towards uniqlo but hubby wants the north face thermal ball down for both of us. me too I might bring my leather instead of fleece for layering under the down but let's see. parehong heavy to pack so I'll think about it. I've underestimated the weather in hk per my experience in the past years. leather jackets are only meant to wear for autumn yet I've tried wearing one in hk one wintry week and I've only layered a thermal camisole underneath, hay naku inubo ako sa lamig.    this time, if ever I'll bring it, I'll layer it under the down.

^^Thanks sis, will monitor na lang the temp this weekend and see if pataas or pababa. 3 days lang naman kasi kami kaya ayoko na masyado mag-abala pa sa dadalhin, then again, paano ko maeenjoy kung ginaw na ginaw ako. Lol!

Nung nag-20 dito nung Sunday ata yun, jusko, ginaw na ginaw ako.

Yun nga nababasa ko sa mga blogs sis.. Giant Buddha muna daw unahin dahil close to airport ito..
Balak sana namin, Giant Buddha - Victoria Harbour lang.. Pano transportation?

DL ka ng mtr app sa phone mo sis.. super helpful yun makikita mo fares, estimated traveling time and mga stops. i suggest you leave early din sa OP kasi babalik ka pa ng TST para di ka malate sa flight nyo. tsaka pag check in mo sa airport dun mo palang malalaman kung what gate kayo eh, baka malayo-layong lakaran din sa airport. kasi kami before i think 5pm kami umalis ng OP super dami na nababa kasi malamig na tapos haba ng pila literal sa cable car or sa train mahaba.. then pag baba mo naman ng escalator ng OP sa exit andun na yung bus stop kaya lang pila ka ulit. pero medyo mabilis naman. tapos matraffic na din eh nung umuwi kami eh. i forgot lang what time na kami nakadating.

just came back from 4 days trip to HK

ay grabe ang weather, pabago bago, minsan sobrang lamig then mainit, buti hindi kami nagkasakit, nakakaloka.

Madaming ginagawa sa Disneyland, kaya di rin ganun kagandang magpa pic. Then may passes sa meet & greet sa Frozen, di namin alam na may ganun pa, di tuloy kami nakapag pa pic kay Anna, kasi maaga daw binibigay yung pass.

we stayed sa Golden Crown, andun pa din yung pinay na staff.
tagal na nya dun, 2011 yung 1st na punta namin

we enjoyed our trip naman
