Sleep training

Anyone one else sleep training their babies here?

My baby started sleeping 5 hours at night without night time feeds at 5 weeks old. Did 10 hours at 10 weeks and 11 hours at 11 weeks. I was hoping he'll do 12 by 12 weeks but we havent reached that yet at 15 weeks.
I use methods from Babywise, Secrets of baby whisperer's and Happiest baby on the block. I dont cry it out. I exclusively breastfeed my baby 5x a day. He's our current schedule at 15 weeks:

830 am- wake up/feed
930- nap
12- wake up/feed
130- nap
330- wake up/ feed
5pm- nap
7/ 730- wakeup/ feed
8/830- bath time
9/930- feed/ bedtime

Im scared about the 4rth month sleep regression. I dont wanna wake up in the middle of the night again. Ayaw ko ng magpaka zombie mode! Kindly share your schedule. No judgements here please.

I made my bathtime at night parang signal siya na sleeping time na and time na matulog ng mahaba. Hindi pa naman siya nagkakasakit kahit ubo sipon and ever since i brought him home eh gabi ang bath routine namin. Pwede mo naman siya gawin sa morning or afternoon kung kelan ka comfortable and si baby.

Pag first 4 weeks train mo muna si baby to take full feeds and not to sleep on the breast. Iwasan mag nurse to sleep. Kaya mo yan sis. Reading the books really helped me. Hindi pa siya nakakapagod for an exclusively nursing mom. By the way may go signal ako ng pedia ni baby and she has no problem naman since baby is thriving and gaining weight talaga.

I tickle his feet, change his diapers etc. Basta follow eat, play sleep routine and not play, eat, sleep para he gets full feeds and will be able to get the needed calories during the day so he wont ask for it at night while you're sleeping. Pag 5 weeks na si baby he is more alert so no problem na keeping him awake while feeding.

If you want to sleep train better ask the help of your hubby. You will hear a lot of comments from relatives since our country is used to feeding by demand. I like parent led feeding talaga. I would have given up on breastfeeding if i did not feed by schedule. There are a lot of ways to sleep train your baby, you have to read the books and not just the comments online because most comments are not from those who used the method.

I really want to. Where did you buy those books? Is it available sa national bookstore?
Sana meron ngang pdf..

My worry for that sis is more than four hours ang feedings.. My ob kasi advise me too exclusively breastfeed every 3 hours(max.) if i want to use lactation amenorrhea as contraceptive method.. So i need to empty my breast din every 3hours by pump, but mas less ang pagod nun kesa si baby ang magigising every 3hours.

I bought it all sa amazon, kindle copies.  Wala na sa national bookstore yung babywise. But the other books like the Secrets of a baby whisperer meron sa powerbooks. When he was younger i fed every 2.5 hours-3 hours. Now that he's 15 weeks kasi he doesnt seem hungry at the 3rd hour. As in battle kami to feed kaya i extended it to 3.5 hours. Im getting Implanon contraceptive tomorrow because yeah i cant rely on breastfeeding as contraception.

Is it too late for me to sleep train my baby? He just turned two. He sleeps at around 8 medyo sapilitan, we will turn the lights off/TV so he will be forced to sleep hehe minsan umaapela pa umiiyak tinuturo yung door or nagsasalita no no. He wakes up at around 6. Kahit 10pm siya matulog 6am pa din gising. Gusto ko sana magising siya ng mga 8am hehe. Kahit nasan kami Baguio, Bulacan, Batangas, house automatic before or after 6am gising na siya

Not too late but better read other sources aside from babywise kasi pang infants talaga siya. What you can try to do is establish a night time routine that signals bedtime. And you have to be consistent, on the dot dapat nasa bed na siya. 11 hours ang required nighttime sleep for a 2 year old sabi ni google so if you want him up by 8am, bedtime should be by 9pm. Also keep his room dark till morning wake up time. Very important ito talaga, my baby woke up at 6am twice and the following morning i doubled his curtain sa nursery and we were back at 830am. Pwede din put him to bed at 7pm so when he gets up at 6 eh complete niya yung 11 hours. Do what works well for you and your family.

question - do you co-sleep or nakahiwalay si baby (nasa crib)? pano ittrain na from co sleep for ilang weeks or months tapos ililipat na to a separate bed si baby?

He used to sleep in or room on his graco pack n play till he was 8 weeks old then we moved him to his nursery for his bedtime. He was doing 8 hour stretches without feedings then. I started with the babywise method since he was a few days old. For naps he sleeps in our room, on our bed or sa pack n play. IMO medyo mahirap (but possible) mag train ng night time sleep if you will be sharing the same bed kasi mahirap may galaw ng galaw sa bed while baby sleeps. Babies are also noisy sleepers baka konting galaw lang niya i feed na ni mommy. At least have a crib inside your room. Pero alam ko si Rica Peralejo, who is also doing babywise naka co-sleep na ngayon. I think she trained his son first then when he started sleeping through the night ng co-sleep na sila. Do what works best for you and your baby.

vain_kixie, ang swerte mo na matagal tulog ni baby kahit EBF ka. As you know, light ang BM, so babies tend to digest it faster kaya lagi silang gutom.

FM kami and by demand kami mag-feed pero matagal din matulog si baby, hibernate nga ang tawag namin.

We're late sleepers so mga 11pm or 12 midnight ang tulog nya. Pag di namin sya ginising, mga 9am or 10am na sya gigising so ang ginagawa namin is ginigising namin sya ng mga 7am to feed. After mag-milk, nakakatulog naman sya agad tapos ang gising nya anywhere between 10am to 1pm. Then nagna-nap pa rin sya during day time. 2 hours max lang ang tinatagal nyang gising tapos matutulog na naman, naps nya ranging from 30 mins to 4 hrs. Since nung 7th week nya, 2x lang sya gumising ng madaling araw dahil sa gutom.

Di ko actually alam kung ano specifically ang nagawa namin para maging ganyan sked nya, pero we started to differentiate day and night as soon na nakauwi kami from the hospital. He sleeps in his crib during bedtime only, tapos nun lang sya nagpa-pjyama and swaddle, and may white noise (app sa tablet). Since lights closed kami, may table lamp lang kaming binubuksan to serve as his night light.

Masarap na matagal tulog ni baby, pero sa totoo lang, nakakapraning. Parang every 30 mins check ka ng check kung humihinga pa ba sya hahaha! Tapos dahil mahaba rin sya mag-naps, namu-move pa tuloy yung feeding time nya, so nale-lessen pa ang # of feeds a day.

The technique of babywise kasi is the baby takes all his/her calories during day. Kumbaga if a baby who is fed by demand takes 30 oz divided by 7 in 24 hours, a baby who is sleep trained takes 30oz divided by 5 in 12 hours. Also i  dont let the baby nap ng sobrang haba like 4 hours. Usually 2 hours and 30 minutes lang per nap, this is to differentiate also night and day (sa gabi natutulog ng mahaba and hindi sa umaga, so he could take his milk sa umaga and not during the night).Thank God hindi narin siya cat napper, minumum of 1 hour and 30 minutes ang nap niya. There are instances na nagigising din sa madaling araw like when they undergo growth spurts. If he wakes up and cries during the wee hours of the night, of course i feed.

Sa states madaming pedia who gives a go signal to the parents to sleep train when they reach a certain weight na (or a certain age whichever comes first). Dito kasi talagang hindi uso ito. I have a big baby kahit na 5x a day lang siya mag feed. At 10 weeks he was 14lbs na. Eventually naman kasi a baby will wean himself from nightime feeds on his own, i just chose to teach mine. Kasi ayaw ko na pag 1 year old na siya eh gigising parin ako sa madaling araw to feed.

Now i added a feed at night (dreamfeed) because he seems very distracted during the day and this has helped him sleep for 11.5 hours na.. hay sana mag twelve siya.

I swaddle for naps too. Thank the heavens for swaddle blankets i do not have to dance/hele my son to sleep. Meron din akong white noise machine (conair) and i use this for his night time sleep and naps. Works like magic.

sharing my baby's feeding schedule (he is 8 months and 3 weeks)

7/7:30am wake up / feed
8:00am playtime / prep for daycare
9:00 am arrive at daycare
9:30am feed
10:00am nap
11:30am wake up / lunch
12:00pm playtime
1:00pm nap
3:00pm feed
3:30 playtime
5:30pm pick-up from daycare
6:00pm arrive home / bath time
6:30/45pm feed
7:30pm nap
9:00pm wake up / feed
10:30/45pm sleep

mga mommies, i HIGHLY recommend to feed by schedule to keep your sanity. my baby at 2 months can sleep 4 hours straight at night! almost never din siya umiyak dahil gutom coz nauunahan namin ang hunger niya, so to speak.

bath time for us is at night too, except for vaccine day (bath time before doc appointment). pinaka-late na bath time was at 10pm and NEVER pa sinipon or nilagnat si baby (knock on wood  ;) ). key is as long as healthy si baby, tama ang room and water temps shempre. my biynenan was soooo skeptical at first, would not even go near us during bath time coz ayaw niya "masisi" pag nagkasakit si baby  ::) ::) ::)

Hahahh funny. Lola of my hubby told us to change his bath time to morning we said yes lang but we dont follow. So we use the word "punas" as a code. Like if we say: we need to go home na kasi pupunasan pa si baby to sleep. Hahaha ewan hindi talaga ako naniniwala sa sabi sabi ng matatanda. I only believe doctors when it comes to the health of my son.

Update lang my son now sleeps 12 hours through the night. He's been doing it for the past 2 days and sana mag tuloy tuloy pa. Problem ko lang ngayon is that he is sooo hard to feed as he seems to be really interested with his surroundings so its hard to get a full feed. Pero ganyan daw talaga ang 4 month old babies.

Hi sis, how's the temperament ni baby? Di naman siya withdrawn or anti-social with Babywise? I'm considering the method also when I give birth. Do you happen to have a summary of your schedule through the weeks, baka I can refer to it. =)

Sa first weeks did you feed by demand, for how long?
