^ Hi sis, thanks for the reply. Mas prefer ko nga na hand-carry na lang talaga yung mga bibilhin ko sa duty free shops para hindi na maisama sa i-kikilo sa baggage ko. Wala naman magiging prob sis kahit marami bilin ko at ihand-carry sa plane? 

keep it to a minimum at wag masyado, yung kaya mo lang mabitbit talaga. alam mo naman mga buwitreng customs sa tin, basta nakitaan ka ng medyo excess baka pag initan ka pa.

this is the reason why i take the morning arrivals sa pinas before para hindi pa masyado alerto ang mga customs, pag mga daytime or gabi medyo ganado manita mga yan.

July 13 (Monday)

Sabi na eh. Ok na yang Iti mo, wala namang masyadong nagbabago dun lalo na mga lugar. Atleast madali na syo adjustment sa pag iikot kasi alam mo na yung basics especially on how to get to your destination.

uy, dali lang naman yung oyster omelette: limang itlog na may halong tahong/oyster, tapos lagyan na lang ng repolyo sa ilalim pagka serve.

Dami kong tanong and there's too much to backread if I will look for answers to my questions, so would appreciate it if someone can reply na lang.

My parents are planning an SG trip this May, and they asked for a quote from a travel agent. Medyo namamahalan ako sa land arrangement at almost 450 USD per pax for accommodation, bfast and halfday city tour. Walang airfare yan. Even the theme park tickets ang mahal ng quote. So I told my Mom bakit hindi na lang kami mag-DIY.

Planned Itinerary:
Day 1 - Flight from PH;  half day city tour
Question: Any reputable agency that offers half-day city tour sa SG? Need an agency name please.

Day 2 - Legoland, Malaysia
Question: The quote of the travel agent to us is USD 91 per pax for transfers and tickets to Legoland. I've been googling and saw this WTS (?) travel agency that offers the same at a much lower price. And sabi lang ng Mom ko, hindi kaya kami magka-problema kasi ibang country na yun? Mahirap pa ba yung immigration na dadaanan to get to legoland?

Day 3: USS
Isa pa ito, ang mahal ng quote sa amin eh nakita ko sa website na much lower ang tickets tapos special rate pa sa senior citizen. And dagdag lang is the transfers. Easy naman siguro na mag-taxi lang kami from hotel to USS di ba?

Day 4: Leisure and Flight back to PH

Note: We have 3 kids in tow, aged 12, 9 and 1.

Doing a full itinerary with a travel agency is for people who prefer to relax during their holiday and just follow along with pre-planned tours and transfers. It is slightly more expensive as compared to a DIY itinerary because the travel agency charges for the planning and executing costs.

DIY can be quite fun, if you are up to the challenge and adventure of customizing your own itinerary. You can hunt for deals online for discount tour packages. When in Singapore, you can commute by public transport if you are with a small group. Larger groups of 6 pax and above would do well with chartered transfers, to save time and hassle, especially if there are children and elderly.

To make things convenient, just book a day trip to Universal Studios Singapore and Legoland Malaysia, and perhaps a city tour, then you can spend the rest of the days free and easy, do your own shopping etc.

^I agree. When we traveled as a family when we were younger  (large group, 7 people kami usually na nagttravel), we would always book with an agency. Less hassle. My mother kasi is praning and OC, pag mag-bus kami, for instance, kailangan pa niya i-verify sa at least 3 na tao na tama yung sasakyan namin. She always ended up in a bad mood kasi sasabihin namin "tama naman, dito tayo sasakay" tapos ayaw pa rin niya makinig. LOL.

Ngayon, she can take a taxi na lang when she does her shopping in SG tapos kaming magkakapatid bus going to USS and other places.

^ ok na yan pero pwede nyo interchange yung GBTB and MBS kasi magkatabi lang naman na yan. Maraming elevated spots dun sa MBS so hindi ka na mahihirapan humanap ng pwesto to get a good view for the shows, ewan ko lang sa GBTB kasi main attraction naman nyan yung supertrees eh.

^there should be some. Kalat naman ang souvenir shops islandwide. If ever you fail to find one at that specific area then you can head down to BUGIS junction or lucky plaza, you'll find tons of items there, dami pa pagpipilian.

haha natawa naman ako dito! limang itlog talaga! good tip, pero i highly doubt na magagaya ko yung timpla nung oyster omelette sa SG, i have the worst cooking skills ever.

roasted duck noodles - man! i didn't even get to try that! i tried chwee kueh and it sucked! the lor mee though was really really good! halatang nag-foodtrip talaga sa hawker centers!

surprisingly, i wasn't impressed with the popular chili crabs at Makansutra... (and even at Jumbo Seafood...)

bugis or chinatown pa din kung souvenirs hanap mo sis.

sa IMM one bus ride lang from far east plaza (orchard) less than 45mins lang. may furla,coach,desigual outlet sila. pero kung shoes habol nyo sa changi city point na lang. nagsisi ako di ko binili nakita ko shoes sa nike 79sgd, tinignan ko price dito pinas nasa 5k pa. yay!

may natikman ako oyster omelette sa chinatown sg sarap! naghanap ako dito sa pinas meron sa binondo forgot ko name ng resto. mas masarap pa din natikman ko sa sg.

after namin nagparty sa clarke quay nagutom kami diretso kami sa resto na puro bakute lang sine-serve, ang sarap din!

@meimei, i am not kidding! hindi lang isang itlog yun dapat maramihan or else lalabas yung oyster, wala namang special condiments na hinahalo dun eh. Inartehan lang ang presentation. Chilli crab naman is ok basta tamang anghang ang timpla, yung iba kasi OA kasi maglagay ng spices at tipong puro anghang na lang ang malalasahan mo.

Eating at hawker centres talaga is quite an experience...definitely one of the things i'll miss when we leave singapore. I noticed puro chinese food nabanggit dito...just want to add masarap din ang mga Briyani (chicken/mutton). Nasi lemak din, pero mukhang acquired taste yun. Lol!
