Our trip is in September pa pero from what I've searched mukhang airbnb na talaga kme. Our first airbnb experience in HK wasn't that bad but I must admit I missed staying in a hotel with concierge, bell service and all. Though it has its perks like being able to cook, etc. At a lower price.

The thing is, I have 2 yayas joining (this was my bad, I should have just booked ticket for 1) and nahihinayang ako to pay for 2-br suite either hotels or serviced apts. we have 2 little boys (1.5 and almost 3 by then). Baka you guys have any suggested airbnb apts you've tried while in SG. Thanks!

Famous church in Singapore for mass during Holy Week is St. Andrew's Cathedral.

Is St. Andrew's Cathedral the one near City Hall MRT Station or a different one? I thought it's not a Catholic church.

Went there before but we just took photos from the outside, we did not went inside na. Next time, we'll check the mass schedules.

Have been to St. Joseph's Church and the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul also. St. Joseph's is bigger in my opinion.

Sis izzie7, you can go to Gardens by the Bay on your last day. Ganon ginawa namin dati, ang flight namin if I remember correctly ay around 6:00 pm din. Buy tickets online to save time sa pila.

Sis unwantedP, have you tried iFly Singapore in Sentosa? You can also go to Singapore Art Museum or Hello Kitty Town in Johor Bahru.

travelling_daisy, I am basing it on what I was told lang. So, I guess it's a wait and see thing for us. Anyway, thanks for sharing feedback regarding St. Joseph's and Sts. Peter and Paul. We shall decide by the time we get to SG na lang for sure. For all we know, we might just end up attending mass in a totally different area.

sisses okay ba ang mga mixed dormitories dito sa SG?  anyone stayed at dormitories, sobrang mura kasi ng rate nila.  Bugis area ba ang pinaka okay na accommodation?  I mean, need kasi namin yung accessible sa sakayan at kainan and other tourist spots.  First timer in SG

^I tried FiveStones nung nasa Chinatown pa siya. Malinis ang facilities. As for yung mixed dorms, okay naman. Kami kasi natulog lang talaga kami so kinuha namin yung pinakamura (mixed dorms na maraming beds usually ito; mas konting beds, nagmamahal, pag female pa, pinakamahal). May free cereals pa nga ata or coffee/Milo for breakfast, may TV rin, and PCs. Free Internet din, kaya sobrang sulit. May dryer din (pantuyo ng towels na dala ko, hehe).

I think lumipat na FiveStones sa Bugis ata? Not sure.

You can also check reviews and pics sa tripadvisor. Pero kung habol mo lang talaga ay tutulugan, okay sila, just look for the best ones.

^sis, nagstay ako sa Fivestones near Bugis area last March 1-4.. 6-bed female room ang kinuha ko.. malinis ang room at CR.. wala naman akong naging problem kahit medyo masikip ang room. no need to bring additional padlock para sa locker.. may shampoo at liquid soap na rin in shower area. 2 shower area lang sa CR.. ok ang breakfast nila.. bread, spreads, milo/coffee/tea, cereals. btw, may rental fee ang towel nila 5SD kaya better to bring one.

location wise, 10 minutess walk to bugis MRT station.. marami rin pwedeng kainan along the area..

Actually there isn't much of a price difference of getting 2 beds in a good backpacker hostel (around SGD 28-35 per bed * 2 beds) as compared to a private hotel room of Hotel 81 or Fragrance Hotel (around SGD 60-70) for low seasons. I would go for the hotel with private bathroom and room amenities like towels, shampoo, toothpaste!

Weather and seasons in sg are exactly the same dito sa pinas. Ang advantage lang, halos lahat ng lugar airconditioned na, exception na lang yata yung mga bus stops. Magdala pa rin kayo jacket pero chances are, baka sa eroplano nyo lang magagamit yan lalo na sa panahon ngayon.  You can check the weather report to be sure.

As for jansport bags, kalat na kalat yan sa sg. Halos lahat ng sports variety store has them.

^ Thanks for the input on the weather. Anyway, I've never been on a trip to SG that required me to make use of jackets as I am a polar bear. As for the question on the Jansport bags, I was hoping to get info that's more specific... like a name of store where there's most likely the best deal available for the item. Thanks nonetheless!

As for your question din in finding the best deals, well, you cannot exactly find them at fixed locations islandwide per se. Ganito kasi yan, sa sg all year round ang "sale" period, di tulad dito sa pinas na seasonal. It all depends on luck and sometimes word of mouth to stumble upon a store na biglang mag-sale. Kadalasan I get my info from local newspaper or local internet sites and forums for those and like I said, tsambahan talaga. Ang masakit pa dun, very limited ang duration ng offer (minsan 1 day lang) at syempre, limited din ang stocks. Kaya parati ka rin makaka-encounter ng pinipilahan talaga, lalo na yung mga hello kitty items. 

Kaya naging mantra na ng mga OFW doon, even ng mga locals, kung maka-tsamba ka ng sale na sobrang bagsak at nataong may pera ka (plus trip mo talaga yung item) then grab it. This applies to practically ALL items even perishables. Kaya pansinin mo maigi pag nasa SG ka halos lahat ng tao, even the young ones, updated sa kagamitan lalo na sa damit at gadgets.

thank you for your input sis traveldelight we are 7 pax in total going to SG all first timer 
usually humihiwalay kame ni hubby ng room.  Nag inquire na ako into different hostels, Gusti, Fisher and Rucksack and Fivestone. 

Any recommendation pa sisses within Lavender and Bugis area?  bihira ba talaga ang family room sa budget guesthouse/inn sa SG?  we need lang malapit sa sakayan (mrt/bus) and mga kainan
