^^I'm sorry, but if I'm not mistaken, yung Double Helix Bridge madadaanan from MBS going to Makansutra/Esplanade/Raffles, then Merlion Park. Clarke Quay is along the river though mahaba-habang lakaran from Merlion Park. BTW, itong mga to maganda ang lights pag padilim na, so I suggest go first to Orchard (if going shopping) then bus/taxi to Gardens.

I booked at Dorsett hotel for my Feb trip because i want to be based in Tiong Bahru para maiba naman. Walking distance sa hawker centers and iba din daw ang feel ng area.

Last time i went to SG, i was based in Bugis, which is a really really good base for first-time tourists. And malapit din sa hawker.

Update ko kayo sa Feb kung ok sa Tiong Bahru.

^Sis, I live in tiong bahru.  If you want to be within Tiong Bahru Estate, you should have tried Link hotel or Hotel Nostalgia, which is just 1 minute walk to Tiong Bahru Bakery.  2 mins to tiong bahru Hawker and few minutes away to Yong Siak St (the hipster place).   Dorsett is in Outram park, which means you have to ride the bus and get off at Blk 55 (right across Link hotel).

^^oh yeah.. Outram nga pala si Dorsett.. hilong-hilo na ko sa lahat ng hotels na niresearch ko kaninang madaling araw. Haha!

Kasama ang Nostalgia and Link sa niresearch ko nitong madaling araw then i eventually crossed it off nga pala. I crossed them off kasi 700m from MRT, ang layoooo!! So kaya nga pala ako nag-end up w/ Dorsett kasi 100m lang from MRT tapos iniisip ko walking distance to Smith & Maxwell hawkers tapos quick ride to Tiong Bahru.

Hahahaha sorry bangag na. I looked up almost 30 hotels kasi.

^Sis, Link hotel is just two bus stops away from Tiong Bahru MRT and 10 minutes walk to outram park.  If you're really aiming to be within tiong bahru estate area, then link hotel is just right which is unfortunately not right beside an MRT (Tiong Bahru estate is middle of Outram park and Tiong bahru stn).  If you really want to be just next to the MRT, dorsett is your best bet.  Good luck!

oh yes sis i'm mistaken. the double helix bridge (which is also pretty at night with its led lights) is the pedestrian link to and from mbs and makansutra. nawala sa isip ko. what I really meant was the gmax swing and reverse bungy at Clarke quay and not the helix bridge.

my bro just went to USS today, nag express pass daw sila kasi luging lugi sa oras kung pipila ka. ang dami daw tao ngaun. some took 40 mins para lang makapasok sa rides. pano pa yung trip namin to USS na weekend. kamusta naman yun

^agahan nyo lang sis, as in pagbukas ng USS nandon na kami sa gate. inuna namin transformers & saglit lang kami sa pila. nasira pa nga bandang huli kaya hindi natapos kwento. ayun, pila uli kami & mas naenjoy ko yong 2nd ride

First time namin sa Singapore and mag stay kami sa Chinatown area.
Monday ng gabi dating namin at Friday ng gabi ang alis.

Pupunta kami sa usual attraction like USS, trick eye museum...(any suggestion pa po?)

Which is better, bumili ng ticket online (asia travel) -USS, flyer, water park, etc or pwede na sa mga ticket booths in Malaysia/SG?

^Mas mura sa mga travel tours.  Try Cebu Air travel and tours.

^^tried and tested ko na ang asia travel when we went to hk last March and bought our Disneyland and np360 tickets from them. just this October, i got our uss Halloween horror night ticket from Asia travel for sgd58 only. The actual cost of the ticket was sgd68 pax. But normally asia travel offers 15-30% less than the regular ticket cost. I advice you research well sis and weigh your choices (packages from other travel and tour companies) kung saan ka makakamura.

I tried mockbooking in asia travel website and the rates are discounted. However, I often hear that travel agency in Malaysia/SG offers discounted rates too, which one has better discount kaya.

I'm currently researching which hawker centres are the "must-tries". When i last went there, i was only able to try Maxwell and Albert Centre...

Since i'm coming back, i wanna try all the other good ones based on my research: Makansutra, Smith, Hong Lim, Tiong Bahru, Newton Circus, Old Airport Rd. Though malamang kalahati lang diyan ang mapupuntahan ko talaga since i have a very tight sked. Oh well.

Also, i read that Lau Pa Sat is not really that recommended by locals.. not sure if accurate ang nabasa ko. So i took it off my list kasi i wanna try yung ok talaga na authentic local food. I wanna eat what the locals patronize!! yung Lau Pa Sat kasi, mostly foreigners lang yata nagpapatronize, not so much the locals..

^For local eats, don't forget to add 328 Katong! the best laksa for me.  They also have branch in Queensway which is near Ikea alexandra.
