@shinies - you can try checking groupon deals or metrodeals around your area. Yoga is really good for your body, if you want to. That way you can check it if its for you. Mahirap sya gawin while doing it, pero yung after effect ng workout. Adrenalin rush galore :D. .. hehe.  May iba kasi,  yoga is not for them. Personally, I have tried going to the gym (mas mura sya hehe), but I get distracted easily.  I can't do the exercises solemnly. I guess there is something about yoga wherein kahit madami kayo, I can still find solemnity in my mat. :D. Yung barkada ko naman, she prefers running, than yoga. She gets her high that way. :D

Those taking bikram, careful kayo lalo if sensitive skin niyo. Went for a skin check up few weeks ago kasi nag flare up skin ko, I have rosacea pala which was worsened by extreme hot temperature sa bikram room. Was advised against hot baths and saunas din.

Nakaka-frustrate mag bind haha!  Yung iba daw umaabot ng years bago makapag-bind.

Among pose kayo hirap?

^ I can do bind poses, pero nahihorapan na ako pag tumatagal na yung hold. Medyo sadista kasi yung instructors namin. But then I guess masochist ako, kasi yung mga pinapasukan kong instructors eh ganun hehe.

I have tight hamstrings, tight hip flexors and after 2 months of holiday sa Pinas, I felt as if nawala or nabawasan yung arm strength ko. Hehhe. Kaya nahihirapan ako uli mag handstands, kahit pa wall assisted ito. I have been doing yoga regularly since October of last year, and I still have very tight hamstrings, this doing splits are still out of the question. I also still have weak core, kaya still working on my bakasana poses. Although compared to last year, I have done some major improvements. Sabi nga nila, do your time in your mat.. and everything will follow...in time.. namaste mga sis :D

@rarity - hahaha.. i feel your pain. Before my wedding, I was able to only eat 1/3 cup of rice 2x a day.  Now umaakyat na uli sa 1/2 cup. Minsan umaabot ng 1 cup pag masarap ulam. Nagrereklamo na din asawa ko. Wag na daw ako magluto hehe... But really, I am back to 104 (from 115) kaya I am trying to maintain it that way hehe.  Less rice, more water, take the stairs instead of the lift kung 3 flights lang naman. No junk food, less ang kain sa fastfood.  And no sweets (including ice tea and soda). Plus yoga nearly everyday.  That worked for me.

@shinies - I practice yoga in class and at home. For me its important to take classes, kasi sa classes you get corrected on your pose. Plus you not only learn the various asanas, you also learn the karmas, the chakras which is what yoga is all about. Its like teacher training pero no notes, hindi ganun ka in-depth, and you go on your own time. In Bikram alone, there are 26 poses and its variations depending on what your level is. I used to practice Bikram, then went on to Power yoga, but now I regularly practice Vinyasa Yoga. So that also has a number of poses plus variations. So parang it takes years before you can really master certain movements. If there is something that I want to work on, that's when I do it at home sa free time ko. Normally before I sleep. hehe.  I love to do deep stretches kasi. It relaxes me.

I learned from a friend na may yoga unli sa Gold's Gym. Once magpa-enroll ka ng 1 month sa Gold's Gym, unli 1 month ka na din ng session sa yoga nila. May zumba pa daw, etc. Magkano naman kaya? Lalabas kasi mas mura pa ang membership vs. per class ng yoga.

OO sis may different kinds of classes like Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga etc. But I recommend you try Vinyasa yan talaga ang gateway yoga its generally easy and basic to help you ease into the practice kase pag ashtanga or power yoga right away baka di pa ready ang body mo and then ma turn off ka na sa yoga
