My BF is Unfortunately Married
« on: November 09, 2014, 04:57:44 pm »
Hi Sisses,

Just wanted to know if I have sisses here who are in a similar situation like mine.  I initially thought of posting on "Being a Mistress" Thread but I think, my situation is quite different from being a typical one.

The reason I'm asking is because, my bf is married.  Naghiwalay na sila ng wife nya for months but he went back to his family because his wife forced him to with threats and all.  He was caught off guard kaya wala syang nagawa.

Sa ngayon, I promised him na hihintayin ko sya until he's ready to finally leave his family (in legal way) and he promised me na gagawin nya lahat to be with me.  I know the uncertainties that come with this situation but I'm willing to take all the options that I could have.  Ayaw kong sumuko na lang ng basta  :'(

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

^agree (with the questions)

WHAT WOULD I DO IF I WERE IN YOUR SHOES?

1.  Move on...
C'mon --  you both made you a mistress.
Married is married, pwes a mistress is a mistress.   Di ba that's just but the label in this our society?
We all have an idea about men who promise the moon plus an annulment to a new love.  Eh napaka hirap to get one.   Mabuti pa, as a 1st step, kung talagang sincere about leaving the wife -- get a Legal Separation agad.

2.  I will not wait.  Baka waiting for nothing. A man can be very promising --  puro promises lang.
He was threatened? Really? May ganon ba?  Hindi ko ma isip pano eh.  Concubinage? Sabi nga ng mga sis dito in another thread, wala namang ever nakulong dahil nambahay ng iba. Or, antayin natin yung case filed by Mrs Ramsey vs Derek & Angelica P.

3.  I will not let him string me along.  As in balikbalikan ka nya paminsan minsan  hanggang magsawa sya sa yo at hindi ka na siputan.

4.  Bibigyan ko sarili ko ng halaga.
You deserve more, much much much more than being a mistress.
There must be a reason why the head was put above the heart.

Really, if I were in your shoes:  I will end the relationship immediately.  Since he is married, and easily "threatened" (daw) to go running back to his wife --  all that "It's complicated" stuff --  I would say I am paying too high a price for a little sausage.  (excuse the "French" - it's just the other version of:  Why marry the cow if you want just a little milk.).

Oh, but you will do what makes you happy, even if you will have to suffer for it.  So, no judgment: walang basagan ng trip ika nga.
But mind your birth control, choose a method that is reliable and not dependent on your BF's ability to stop/withdraw.  Your situation is very complicated already as it is,  hwag ka nang maghanap pa ng additional bato na  ipukpok sa ulo mo by getting pregnant.
The timing is not right to bring a kid into this world with you 2 as parents.  Since you plan to wait till he becomes legally free -- pwes, dagdag mo na rin you will wait to have a baby until you are both legally united.

Hi Sisses,

Just wanted to know if I have sisses here who are in a similar situation like mine.  I initially thought of posting on "Being a Mistress" Thread but I think, my situation is quite different from being a typical one.

Sounds to me that you are still a mistress kahit ano pang situation iyan. The fact the guy is married, tapos may relasyon kayo, tapos willing mistress ka rin.

The reason I'm asking is because, my bf is married.  Naghiwalay na sila ng wife nya for months but he went back to his family because his wife forced him to with threats and all.  He was caught off guard kaya wala syang nagawa.

Ok. How do you know that this is true?

Gusto ko rin sana malaman in what circumstance you met your BF?  Nung bago mo ba sya nakilala, alam mong may asawa na or akala mo single? Kaya any story like threats, or napilitan balikan (duh? kung ayaw ng lalaki, AYAW!), mukhang kasinungalingan din.

Sa ngayon, I promised him na hihintayin ko sya until he's ready to finally leave his family (in legal way) and he promised me na gagawin nya lahat to be with me.  I know the uncertainties that come with this situation but I'm willing to take all the options that I could have.

Wrong.  Ano bang isusuko mo to begin with, eh you have nothing naman with him.

Why don't you look at it the other way - Kung iiwan mo sya, you are claiming your life back.

Again, promises.  Alam mo ba how long it takes for him to fulfill that? Unang una, gaano na kayo katagal magkakilala? Mag-gauge mo kung ano na ang nagawa nya to get there.  Or parang promise lang nya, pero may improvement ba from the time na sinabi nya iyan at tsaka ngayon, nakalabas na ba ang isang paa nya sa pinto?  No way mangyayari ito. Kasi in these situations, it is either you are IN the house and VERY MUCH Married or HIWALAY kayo. There is no such thing as "gagawan ng paraan".

Tsaka ano sya bata? Willing sya bumalik and willing sya to work out his marriage. That's the story.  Wala lang syang balls to break your heart.

Since you plan to wait till he becomes legally free -- pwes, dagdag mo na rin you will wait to have a baby until you are both legally united.

Well, TS can start counting. Kung yung mga hiwalay nanga na couples, can take 7-10 years ang annulment, what more sa case nung babaerong BF nya - ni hindi pa nga nakapag paalam sa wife. So make it a wait of 15 years siguro.   ;D  Good luck!

If i were in your shoes. I'd listen to that small voice in my head that says "um something's not quite right here.." Let him go. You do not deserve to be somebody's option. He chose his wife. Period. Hindi sa wala syang choice kasi meron syang choice and obviously he chooses his wife over you. Move on. Let go and never come back. You deserve a man who will never put you in that situation..

Sis, curious lang ako how her wife threatened him? Even if you love him deeply, remember that you also need to value and love yourself. Yun yung wag mong kalimutan. Maybe he'll leave his family for you, maybe not. How can you be sure di ba? Words are just winds, dear. It's the action that speaks.

To threadstarter, I hope you reconsider your decision to stay with him. I don't think anybody here will tell you otherwise. And please don't make this into  a "you and me against the world" drama. Wala ka naman talagang "isusuko" because he was never yours to begin with. Let go of those "romantic" notions in your head. Tama yung isang sis dito, give him and his wife a chance to fix their marriage. Yes it's sad, yes you may think it's unfair, but that's how it is. And don't forget, he didn't choose you. Whatever it was, whether it was fear of something, his sense of responsibility, or his conscience, whatever it was, yun ang pinili nya over his supposed love for you. That alone should tell you hind ka nya kaya panindigan.

You may not be a "full blown" mistress now, but you will be if you don't leave this situation. You are still in a position to turn your own life around, wag mo sayangin. You may say, how easy for other people to say this or that, when they've never been in my situation. Well, I HAVE been there sis. I was once a kabit. A real, no bullsh*t kabit. Believe me when I tell you, there is NO real joy to be found in that situation, no real peace, and no real, lasting freedom. At maniwala ka, this isn't your last, your only, chance at happiness. There are so many good things, BETTER things, out there for you, if you only choose to do the right thing.

Everything I have in my head that I want to say has been pretty much covered, so I shall be very brief in saying... I don't think that the thread subject should be, "My BF is Unfortunately Married" as you laid it out. Perhaps, "My BF is Married" would suffice. I feel that because he is not married to you, ergo it becomes unfortunate that he is married, otherwise, you'd probably say, "My BF is Fortunately Married". But again, what do I really know?

sorry to pop your bubbles sis but men often tell you all sorts of craziness just to get away from something. my ex husband would tell his mistresses all those lies too, like he was forced to do it, blah blah blah. guess what? i never even laid a finger on him.

PS: I hope you are not referring to my husband. joke lang. but you know what, you are BETTER than this. good luck!

Hi sis, sorry ha, but he already chose his wife. It's as simple as that. I don't think so. What more kung asawa nya?

He will file it at the first chance he gets kasi, hindi naman instant yun eh. Kahit mag file na sya it would take years pa din. So he's gonna keep you waiting until then?

if i were in your shoes, (in a man's point of view) i'll find new love who is Fortunately Not Married.
you're giving this guy a chance to rehearse another unfortunate word that lies in marriage, Unfaithfulness!

they get back together so why wait? move on and live your supposed to be fortunate life...

hmmmmm.......@TS you said he went back to his family. FAMILY. hindi ka ba nahihiya?
he has a wife and a kid (probably more than one). wala bang weight sayo ang salitang family?

if anything dapat nga i-encourage or support mo siya. be happy for him. kung talagang mahal mo siya do what is best. don't be so selfish na pangarapin mo ang lalake na pag aari na ng iba. whichever way you look nauna na yung wife niya. sila ang dapat. let them work it out.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the kind and not-so-kind words :-). Rest assured, nabasa ko lahat ng mga payo and opinions nyo and I really appreciate all your inputs.

Most of you already judged me and sadly, karamihan din ng mga advice nyo are based on what you think the kind of person I am but no worries, I'm not taking it against anyone :-). The reason why I didn't give the full details of my story yet is because I wanted to get a generic view of my situation wherein I was hoping to get logical advice and not out of emotions specially sa mga "nasagasaan" kong wives dyan na naka-experience na maloko ng asawa.

So, I guess there's no more reason to further tell my story :-)

But if there's one thing that I am thankful and grateful for for sharing my situation, that is, I met 2 sisses here who didn't judge me but instead, lend a helping hand and gave support that I badly needed.  No, they're not tolerating my stupidty, but they guided me to decide for myself, for what I think is best for me.

You know who you are, sisses! Thanks much! ;-)

if i were in your shoes, babatukan ko sarili nang matauhan ako..

@TS the advice i gave you are the same advice i said to myself over and over again when i met someone who is married. he was pursuing me pa lang at that time and i know he is still married. then nalaman ko na separated na siya from a common friend. but still i would tell those advice to myself. kasi kahit bali-baligtarin ang mundo kasal yung tao and may mga anak siya.

i started a topic din and i got a lot of unwanted advice so i deleted it right away. during that time i didn't like what i was reading and just like you i thought to myself hindi naman nila alam ang kwento. but no matter what your story is, when you get into something like this it will never end well. i didn't fell for mister married kasi pinigilan ko sarili ko.

gawin mo yung tingin mong tama for yourself. in everything you do give it your best so that you will have no regrets later on just make sure wala kang nasasagasaan. what goes around comes around.

I think it is a generic view. No one wants to be a mistress. No one would also like to have a husband with a mistress.

So, I guess there's no more reason to further tell my story :-)

It's all up to you sis. It's your life.

Sis people post here to give you advice, not to judge you. Sorry that you feel that way. I assume that you're looking for more understanding voices than the ones you found here or siguro umaasa ka ng kakampi sa'yo, but let me just say the advices given here are LOGICAL. You're not the first mistress to think that she's not the "usual" mistress, but the fact is you're in a relationship with a married man who's still living with his family.

I agree with the others na sana mabigyan ng chance maayos yung family without another woman on the side praying for them to totally break up. IMO, if you want to continue your relationship for him then make sure plantsado na niya mga bagay-bagay, but during that time do not wait for him. I said this before: a woman who knows her worth won't wait for anyone.

Anyway buhay mo yan, I just hope you make the right choice. :)
