hi sis reann787, actually may isang guy na din na nagshow ng interest sakin, mabait sya and nafefeel ko talaga na he likes me, but he's not my type. nagmamaganda lang.joke. haha. hindi ko sya sinagot kahit gusto ko na magka bf, iniisip ko pa lang hindi ko ma-take na maghoholding hands kami, etc. gusto ko pa rin yung guy na like ko talaga yung kikiligin ako, gusto ko makita everyday. Pero pano kung wala na pala magparamdam first and last na pala yun. haha. anyway, most of you telling me wag madaliin and enjoy lang ang pagiging single, which I will do. Thank you so much mga sis :)

^sis ano nga bang daily activities mo? Baka naman bahay-office-bahay ka lang. Kasi if that's the case, ang probable lang na manligaw sayo is either an officemate, kapitbahay mo or delivery guy.

Try reading the book "How to find your one true love" by Bo Sanchez. Ang dami nyang myth na binasag dun about that. You really need to go out and mingle with others. Try a new hobby, join a club, travel, etc. Di pwedeng iasa lang kay God na bigyan ka ng guy tapos ikaw nagkukulong lang sa bahay. You also have to do your part. Diba nga nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa. :-)

Sis rasee16 most of the time bahay office lang ako, then pag gumagala naman ako madalas ko kasama friends ko din na mga walang bf. And ang pinaka gala lang namin ay manood ng sine or mag food trip sa mall, then just last year I reallyenjoyed travelling, wala manliligaw sakin kapit bahay kasi di rin ako lumalabas. Actually pag wala ako work or gala kaya ko magstay sa house ng ilang days or weeks na walang labasan, mongha lang ang peg ko. Haha. My close friend suggested that I should change my style. Im not baduy ha, sobrang simple ko lang kasi manamit jeans and shirt ako..I dont even put make up then I wear eyeglasses pa. I believe there is someone out there who will like me and accept me for what I am. Thank you so much sis for the advise, I will really try to be more outgoing ;)

go for it, unsophisticatedme! we have so many things in common - i also wear glasses, old jeans, and t-shirts. though, i love to be fashionable, too. i have friends who sometimes consult me about clothes. but when i was in the philippines, i really couldn't afford to wear the skirts and dresses that i wanted to wear. i only got to buy and wear them when i moved abroad. the funny thing is that my husband loves seeing me in shorts and pants.
in travelling, you'll meet a lot of new people so that's a great thing to do to expand your network.
i think, for girls like us, it's important to find someone who will accept us for who we are and not try to change us to fit his wants but who will let us decide on how we want to improve ourselves.

120515 I'm just curious why you couldn't afford to wear dresses and shorts here in the Philippines? Actually may mga cheap dresses and shorts naman na ok naman ang quality. When I started travelling last year, last year lang din ako nakapag shorts. Haha. Manang type kasi ako di ako comfortable wearing clothes na naeexpose skin ko, last year may travel buddies encourage me to wear shorts for a change. And guess what when I posted pics in fb, my friends really got surprise! Haha.

Yes sis we have the same beliefs :) pero kasi physical appearance muna di ba ang tinitingnan ng guy for them to get attracted?

hi unsophisticatedme! we are on the same boat. turning 31 and nbsb.  like you, i focused myself in my studies before kaya kahit may mga umaaligid, di ko pinansin. then became focused in my career. as time goes by, i got matured, became independent and have a great career.

I have a lot of guy friends and they all said the same thing. i am strong-willed, successful and independent woman.  parang wala na raw pwedeng i-offer ang lalaki sa akin.  a guy who is interested in me but is not confident of his plans in life would be intimidated. kaya kahit gusto nila ako, e di na nila itutuloy yung balak nila.

I also had conversations with happily married men and mga mommies.  at some point during our conversations, when they find out i am single, nagtataka sila kasi great catch ako. i take it as a compliment. pero bakit nga ba single ako? i do go out a lot with a large group of friends. i think this is the problem. sabi nila dapat daw try to go out in smaller group kasi kahit interested sila sa akin, too much effort for a guy to invade a large group.

Although I am happy with my life, I do understand that sometimes you also wish to have that special someone. lalo na yung times na pag uwi sa house mag isa lang ako and wala akong kausap. it would have been a different story if I am married. pwedeng extra happiness or additional stress ang aabutin ko.

Sis, my advice is enjoy your singlehood. think of things that you want to accomplish in life. are you interested in surfing, yoga, etc. lets get busy and do not wait for him to come. maiinip ka. my friends are happily married pero advice nila sa akin is to do whatever i want. carefree ka kasi as a single and you can make your own decisions without considering anybody. so yun yung sinusunod ko. i travel a lot, take further studies, lessons, join marathons etc. basta i improve myself. after all, kung ma intimidate yung guys, its not my problem. i will live my life to the fullest. its better to be single than to be in a bad relationship.  For me, as long as you look decent naman sa suot mo you don't have to change anything. bakit ako, lagi akong well-dressed and even modelled in a fashion magazine pero remains single diba? maybe talagang not yet time.

If I'm destined to get married someday, when I look back masasabi ko na nasulit ko yung single life ko and no regrets. kesa sa ang maiisip ko e i wasted my time and opportunity when I was single.  if you accomplished more in life, remain humble lang and stay positive. at least when the time comes, masasabi ko na i did everything and deserved to be called ms. right.  malay mo one day magulat na lang tayo andyan na si mr. right. =D

Hi dawnperiwinkle, great advise! Thank you! Ang dami pala natin single. Haha. Yun na nga lang gagawin ko enjoy my singlehood and wag magmadali. Ang focus ko ngayon is to find a much better job so I can help my parents to support the studies of my two brothers. And I love to travel, magastos lang pero iba kasi yung happiness at memories na matetreasure mo.

Sis, kahit ako nagtaka sa story mo, you are a fashion model and yet you dont have a special someone?! Darating din yung person na dinestined satin ni God in the right time. Though its already alarming kasi were on our 30 na, maybe because we have so many things to fulfill pa. Kakatuwa mga advises nyo na brighten ako and mas gumaan feelings ko. Thank you all!

hi unsophisticatedme, the reasom is pretty simple - though i liked being fashionable, buying books amd eating great food are still higher on my priority list so there's very little budget left for clothes ;D also, i ate out 95% of time, which gets pretty expensive. i only just learned to cook when i met my husband - he taught me how! hahaha!
my guy friends have told me i'm a great catch but they said that filipino guys are just not on the same wavelength as i am and accurately predicted that i'll end up with a foreign guy.
when the time is right, it will happen :)

I agree with 120515. when the right time comes, it will happen. mahirap kasing ipilit yan. kahit may pressure from yourself or lalo na from others, never settle for anything less. huwag kang mag enter into relationship just for the sake of having one.

kung sakali namang destined tayo forever to be single, i don't want to take it negatively. it might be the road less travelled but it does not mean we are less as a person or we cannot achieve the true happiness in life. =D

that's so true, dawnperiwinkle, don't settle for anything less than you deserve and anyone less than the one you are truly happy with and who can give you the love and respect that you deserve :)

Hi. I'd just want to share my experience din, kahit young pa ako, I'm currenlty 22, and in a relationship right now. I used to experience yung sinasabi mong panic and worry b/c of being NBSB. I felt that way b/c of peer pressure siguro. I was in an all girls' school nung hs, and although madami na din ang may boyfriend samin, there were a lot din na wala, so okay lang. Then came college, at parang napansin kong everyone(not literally pero most people) ay meron ka relationship na. Either that, or yung mga batchmates ko nung high school nagkakaron na rin ng bf. My best and closest friends were also NBSB, so I can totally relate din when you say na lumalabas ka nga, pero with single friends lang din naman. I am also very quiet, and kinda introvert. I am somewhat selectively social, and am not very comfortable mingling with others, especially pag masyadong madami (like sa parties). Noon, ang paniniwala ko, and I still do think now, na isa yun sa malaking factor kung bakit dati hindi ako magkaroon ng bf. Masyadong limited yung circle ko, I hangout with the same people, and medyo ilang ako makipagkilala sa iba. I became very insecure sa ugali ko, and I thought na wala talagang magkakagusto sakin dahil nga parang tahimik ako, which I think guys will find boring. Pero ako, mahilig ako magpaganda, and fashionable naman ata ako. In terms of looks, I think wala naman problema sakin, but sa ugali talaga.. dun nagkakatalo, I think. May mga guys na nagpaparamdam, BUT NEVER NANLILIGAW. Until, nung college, tnry ko sumama sa mga classmates ko na not my usual group(sa mga outings, class parties, kahit na hindi ako masyado comfortable, I tried doing it) then, I had a classmate na nagshow ng interest sakin, and akala ko like before hanggang ganun lang din, but tinuloy nya and pursued me, until ngayon we're nearing our 4th year anniversary na :) What I was really touched about my bf was, sabi nya nagustuhan nya ako kasi good girl type ako (quiet, bit shy, but nice daw). I'm so happy that he liked me for who I am, hindi ko na kinailangan palitan ang sarili ko, kahit na naiinsecure na ako sa ugali kong ganyan.

Just want to say, na yes, you should expand your circle, sama ka sa mga tao na hindi mo usually sinasamahan, be friendly and approachable to guys( this is possible kahit ang ugali mo quiet type) make an effort on your appearance(kasi ito talaga ang unang napapansin) but lastly, don't change yourself, I mean, make an effort pero wag mo naman baguhin totally ang sarili mo, kasi mas maganda if makahanap ka ng taong who will accept you for who you are :)

go to your hobbies!! join backpacking, mountaineering, fitness groups and the likes..
go study!! get your masters, certifications, etc. and if you're feeling lazy to go out..
go online!! fb, tinder and the likes..

the key here is to expand your social circle. :)

saka di rin ako yung tipo na dapat head over heels in love para lang sagutin yung guy.. basta i like the guy, pag inask na nya ako ng question, yes na agad!! wala nang pakipot and all. you'll find out sooner or later habang nagdadate na kayo kung talagang mafafall ka sa kanya. ayun. standards din, basta he satisfies one trait that i'm looking for, ok na yun! di rin naman ako si ms. perfect para maghanap ng perfect guy.

so ayun. good luck sis! ;)

Based on experience, don't judge agad pag may gustong ipakilala sayo yung mga 'reputable' friends/ relatives/ bosses mo. I say reputable and those who truly know you as a person, your qualities and personality. Kasi minsan sila yung nakakakita ng taong babagay sa ugali mo. Don't be afraid to meet other people. Kasi ako nuon, ayoko agad. Naiilang ako agad. Pero dapat pala take it as it is. No pressure. Just get to know the person. Kung hindi mag click at least you gain a friend or even acquaintance. And you get to broaden your contacts. Malay mo magamit mo in the future the connection. Hehe.

Also be genuinely nice. Minsan kasi tayong mga girls nice lang sa feel natin na tao. Pag di natin feel super sungit or mataray. Apparently, the good men (which we all want) is looking at how we deal with other people. Smile genuinely and care genuinely. Hindi lang suitors ang mage gain kundi friends as well. Opposite and same sex.

I'm in my early 30s, I don't know if I consider myself NBSB since I've never had a serious bf, the one I would introduce to my parents. I've had so-called bfs/flings before, I met them thru text or online, so I don't consider them.. they didn't work. That was in my 20s, I was young and didn't know what I was doing. Now I am more careful, but I think I got too careful that I am now in my 30s, single and yet, I feel like settling down already.... :(

No need to rush walang divorce dito sa pinas..

^ oo nga, may point ka naman dun.. feeling ko lang sa age ko na 'to eh sana nakapagsettle down na ako, parang ang saya ng may pamilya.. pero at the same time, hindi din naman pedeng madaliin ang pagpapakasal...
