we are planning a trip to korea in november. tentative date nov 10-16. im thinking of staying 2 nights in a hotel in myeongdong and then the rest in a guesthouse maybe sa hongdae area. we are a family of four. my kida are 11 and 7 so for sure mag everland kami and lotte world kame. i'm reading in this forum for tips and itinerary.

^^sis, how much and KTX from Busan to Seoul roundtrip?

I have 9 days in Seoul this coming September and parang sobra sobra yun araw for 9 days kun Seoul lang ang itinerary ko. Hindi rin ako pupunta sa Lotte World and Everland since solo travel lang ako. It's never been a plan na pumunta ng solo sa theme park.

hi sis manlavs, yung 1 day sa busan sakto lang naman though kung gusto mo makapag-ikot talaga syempre kulang yun. ang isang hindi namin napuntahan is yung jagalchi market kasi closed sya nung day na nagpunta kami.

^sis tayntayn, wala ka po bang blog or detailed instruction from Seoul to Busan kun DIY? Nagpareserve ka ba online para sa hop on/off bus in Busan? Parang gusto ko avail yang hoho. Sana naman wala ng MERS outbreak by September TIA

^sorry sis wala ako blog sobra busy cant find time to maintain a blog na. pero you can search blogs naman sa google, may mga nabasa rin ako noon before our trip.

basta, sa Seoul to Busan trip, pwede ka mag-bus nasa mga 4-5hours yata and cheaper, or pwede KTX bullet train, mas mahal lang. Kung KTX ka, punta ka lang ng Seoul KTX Station, choose your time, then buy your tickets. Sa iabgn blog makikita mo dapat may reservation daw. pero i found out na kapag holidays lang need ng reservation kasi madalas punuan ang trains nun.

yung Busan HOHO is very sulit talaga! piliin mo yung loop tour nila, bale two routes na ang pwede mong sakyan. Hindi na ako nagpa-reserve basta nagpunta na lang kami sa bus stop nun sa may front ng Arirang Hotel beside Busan Station then we paid the fare sa bus driver na. keep your receipt kasi valid yan for the whole day.

sisses, i have a question.

We are planning to apply for tourist visa this week. While I was checking all our requirements, I read that self-employed individuals need a DTI/SEC registration certificate AND mayor's permit.

My husband is a private dental practitioner. He has DTI registration certificate, BIR registration, ITR and everything except Mayor's permit. He told me he's exempt from payment of such because he does not sell goods, he's into offering services. He suggested that we present his professional tax receipt instead. I am reading the Local Government Code and I am researching via net. Read some blogs that dentists are really exempt from payment of mayor's permit though they cannot give any specific provision of law or legal basis for such exemption, only a letter of opinion from one authority.

How do we go about it at the Korean Embassy? Your inputs are greatly appreciated. Thanks

@iamlanie - if you have a BDO credit card it's easier to get a multiple entry visa. No need to submit Bank Cert and ITR. Latest credit card statement lang kailangan. You can read the details here:

Hi, I am new here but have been lurking around for some time na. I have a question regarding the BDO Credit Card Korean Visa Promo, kahit ba first-timer posibleng mabigyan ng multiple entry?
 
My family is planning to go to Korea on Holy Week next year and gusto ko sana i-avail yung promo ng BDO, pero baka SE lang ang igrant, sayang naman.

And if ever ba naissue-han ng SE Visa, how many months ba para pwedeng mag-apply again? Diba kapag denied after 6 months...

@leilaleigh: Posible? Yes. If you're a frequent traveler and you own a BDO Gold card, then you have a better chance of being granted a ME visa. Pero again, sole discretion ng Korean embassy 'yung pagbibigay or pagdedeny nila ng visa sa applicant. Owning a BDO card is only one of the many things they consider to assess the strength of each application. 

Apply now if you're confident with your requirements. Para in case na madeny, you can still apply next year for your Holy Week trip. 


Scenario 1: Kapag nag-apply na kayo ngayon at nadeny, you'll have to come back to the embassy next year to re-apply for a visa.

Scenario 2: Kapag nag-apply kayo ngayon at naapprove (pero single entry lang), babalik pa rin kayo next year to apply for another visa.

Scenario 3: Kapag nag-apply kayo ngayon at naapprove 'yung iba and denied 'yung iba, kailangan pa rin nilang bumalik next year to reapply. Or kung nabigyan ng multiple-entry 'yung iba tapos single-entry lang 'yung iba, babalik pa rin kayo talaga next year.

Scenario 4: Kapag nag-apply kayo ngayon at naapprove ng multiple-entry, everybody happy.

@fittotravel thanks for the reply. but would you know how many months nga ba pwedeng mag-apply again ng Visa after ng single entry travel to Korea? It is not in relation to my planned travel next year. I just want to know kung pwede ba agad ulit magapply for another visa to go back to Korea if ever you want to go again, like, in a month or so.  Thanks

^Ang alam ko pwede ka nang mag-apply ulit ng visa pagkarating mo from your trip to Korea. Wala namang kaso doon. But of course, you'd have to submit the same requirements to the embassy again. And in case they ask, be prepared lang to explain why there's a short interval between your trips to Korea.

@leilaleigh, marami na rin ako nabasa kahit sa nauna na Korea thread na nabigyan ng ME visa kahit unang application ng visa pa lang.

Yun BDO na ba ngayon ang may promo? Last year kasi nabasa ko dito BPI naman CC naman.

About MERS, we were in Korea for 6 days, we just got back the other day. Sobrang normal ng situation doon, ang layo sa pino-portray sa news. Group pa namin pinagtitinginan sa subway kasi ang dami namin na naka-mask. Sila iilan lang na naka-mask. Nagkalat lang din mga flyers about MERS and sa public places, may mga sanitizer na nakalagay.
