^ it's really a sad experience.. sana we are informed nalang din na a representative from the family should be there to audit. Sayang yung moment na yun wherein we can use the remaining time sana to bond with our guests, those who stayed until the end of the program. :( kaso wala, stress ang naiwang memory. :(

hello sisses!

I really wanted to get Events by Thoffy, kaso they're not replying. Meron ba sa inyo ng-iinquire din sa kanila and ala pa rin reply from them? Or ako lang hindi nakakareceive ng reply? :( Gusto ko talaga sila, kasi I saw how they managed my friend during her wedding, how organized they were. Kaso bakit ganun, no reply pa rin ako :( Dun sa mga nakakareceive ng prompt responses from them, how do you usually communicate with them?

That's sad to hear.. We should trust our suppliers pero ibang usapan talaga ang pera. If ever, only the lead coordinator should be allowed to handle money. Pero kung may available family members, dapat task nila yan.

Ano ang sabi ng lead coordinator o owner? Kahit gaano pa siya kagaling, responsibility niya mga tao niya and to make sure they don't have criminal tendencies.

Hi! We had our wedding last DEC 2014 and it is a wonderful feeling to be stress free sa wedding day. Our otd is events republic. My head coordinator is Ms. Lalaine Felipe. Sobrang daming praises  ang nakuha namin from our guest dahil sa masaya at organized na kasal namin. Galing daw mag handle ng otd namin. Honestly kasi on the day of your wedding, you just have to let go and otd na bahala. Mahalaga na you trust them at matagal na sila sa business at experienced na talaga. We got them at 12k plus 1k for rsvp.
When booking an otd, make sure na magaan kausap at di maarte. If you can attend bridal fairs to talk to them mas maganda at may discount pa sa mga fairs. Do not book asap. Get their flyers then research muna tapos contact them once decided ka na. A coordinator can make or break the wedding. If palpak otd may tendencies na maging magulo ang wedding at mastress pa ang couple.
Endorse your payments to your head coord only. May mga docs ang otd na nakahanda gaya ng suppliers payment sheet na pinapasign at head coord lang pwede humawak ng cash. Or you can assign a family member or friend para sa paghawak ng pera.
Happy preps sisses!

Here are some impressions I have for certain wedding coordinators:

1) Jody Liwanag - Got turned off with her. She hasn't emailed me back in 3 days after I asked for an appointment- to think I am a personal referral. Plus she really wont do RSVP for OTD service, even if you offer to pay an additional fee.

2) Queen David - emailed me but then asked for when my wedding is. She didnt email me back for an appointment perhaps since my wedding is still in 2016.

3) Ruby Ines - consistent in replying to emails always within 24 hours. She's very organized and her emails are clear and concise. I feel Ruby jives more with the kind of wedding I am going for.

4) Sheena of SMA Weddings - She should win an award for fastest ever to respond to prospective clients. Very warm and friendly and you feel she really cares about your wedding. The only thing stopping me from getting her is that I feel she doesn't get the feel of the type of wedding I want. I asked her what she suggests to entertain my guests since Im not having games, garter and bouquet toss. She said that the Photo Booth will keep the guests busy. Ok naman Sheena's suggestions. But it isn't my thing to have a photo booth as I dont even want one at all. Her other suggestions didn't fly with me as well. Whereas the other coordinators were able to suggest more elegant and interesting options like having a brass band, acapella or madrigal singers sing while guests are dining.

But I am not crossing Sheena off my list yet. She is sooo pleasant and friendly. And her price for full coordination package is the same price as the OTD rate of others.

Ho hum... as early as now, I can already "feel" and compare how quick and attentive certain coordinators are over others. My wedding is still in 2016 pero i get irritated with suppliers who dont reply right away. Im a bridezilla and I know it, so I need to have patient suppliers who are easy to talk to.

^ agree ako dyan sis.. kahit matagal pa ang wedding.. sana all coordinators or any supplier would be considerate enough and have the courtesy to respond at least within 24 to 48 hrs whether query lang or clients who officially paid and booked them na.. anyway, hope you find your this is it coordinator soon. :)

That's why I don't book suppliers who are unresponsive and naka seen zone lang ako lagi. Kasama sa binabayaran ko yung mag reply sila kaagad sakin. Haha

sis Chili1113, try kiss the girl events. OTD ko sila. :)
medyo mahirap kasi magreply din sa part nila kasi super busy and coordinator work.. di lang kasi minsan weddings ang hawak nilang events. sa dami ng inask ko na coordinator nun bibihira yung fast response agad. si SMA ang pinakamabilis nga kaya lang nung time na yung she is taken.
pag full coordination and need mo, i think you need prompt response for your inquiries. pero if OTD lang or semi, i think kahit malate sila since not all the time naman eh sila ang need mo tanungin (not part of their talent fee kasi!)

Hi mga sis! Update lang.
Yesterday naka set yung meeting ni sister and her fiance with their WC. Kasi nga nireschedule ng sister ko because the WC didnt show up. Same scenario na naman.
1pm - appointment
12:30 - WC said she'd be 15mins late
1:30 - nasa UN na daw siya (Meeting place is Robinsons Malate)
2pm - Wala pa rin siya and di na nagrereply si WC. So umalis na sister ko and fiance niya to go to their florist and informed the WC. Then my sister messaged her again about what she wanted to tell the WC personally. And bigla na lang, sabi ni WC, andun na daw siya, kararating lang. Nagalit na fiance ng sister ko. Sabi niya, kahit daw lakarin niya from UN, di aabutin ng ganun ka late to Rob Place. Por que daw alam niyang wala na sila dun, sasabihin niyang sumipot siya. So my sister told the WC, if 15mins late lang, palalampasin niya. Kung 30mins, maghihintay pa rin siya as long as sumasagot. Then my sister discussed professionalism, cancellation and how my sister could no longer trust her wedding day to the WC. And the WC couldnt say anything but ask for last chance daw. Kaloka.

^sis, you know what, this WC is hopeless. Tell your sister to get rid of her before she cause some more trouble on their wedding. Ang daming ibang WC na maasahan. Ngayon pa lang ganyan na sya.  >:(

Happy preps sisses!

Sa wedding namin, my husband and I divided the money ahead according to the amount of our balance with the respective suppliers and placed the money in sealed envelopes. We wrote the name of the supplier and even the denominations of the money inside the envelopes. Then we made a suppliers' payment list which indicated the corresponding amounts that they are entitled to receive. I brought the money with me when I checked into the hotel on the eve of the wedding day. Why did I not leave the money with my aunt before going to the hotel? It's a precaution because my aunt might forget to bring it with her when she leaves her house the following day.

Before heading to the church, I endorsed the money and the list to my aunt. I told my coordinator the name of the aunt who will be holding the money. The two of them handled the distribution of payments properly. :)

I trust my coordinator but I did not want to endorse a huge sum of money to anyone before the day of the wedding because a lot of things might happen within the interval. The money was with me until a few hours before the distribution of payments. Better be cautious than sorry.

The only amount of money I endorsed to my coordinator was about 11k to her for breakfast and lunch crew meals. However, we only spent a small amount for breakfast meals. For lunch, we had a lot of food because some of those who confirmed did not show up, so our suppliers had plated meals from K by C.:) yay!

Sis i feel like hindi nga bagay sayo si Sheena... medyo pareho tayo ng vibe na nakuha sa kanya although yes she was really nice and trying to be helpful. :p I met her too and what turned me off was she super recommended this host na when i watched videos of, super turned me off! (Joy Catubig). Way, way too jologs for my taste! Maybe for a birthday party, but not for my wedding. Anyway, I didn't think she'd be much help with suppliers after that.

Try the following: Kutchie Zaldarriaga (her assistants answer quick, I booked her), Christine Ong-Te, Rita Neri. Yan yung mga top notch, trusted coordinators in the industry. Kahit pa more than double OTD price nila vs. a mid-range one, i could not risk the entire wedding on a lousy coordinator team! Sira lahat ng plans ko if ever. I personally like Jody though, she did my brother's wedding. Hope this helps!

Hi mga sis, in-fairness kay Sheena (I got her na) the shortlists she's giving doesn't include Jhoyzies (can't spell it). I got the likes of RJ Ledesma.

Same with the bands, the list from her I got Sound Salad, Philharmonic...etc...

Baka she's giving lang a wider spectrum for the choices.

^i agree. siguro it also helps din if you tell your wedding coordinator agad how much are you willing to allot na budget for a certain supplier like emcee when asking for recommendation. kasi ako, at first dati, di ako nagsabi ng budget so nung binigyan nya ako ng list na matataas at di ko kaya hehe saka nya ko nireferan ng mga supplier na pasok sa budget ko. in the end, tayo pa din naman magdedecide sino kukunin suppliers, important thing was she delivered and executed well sa wedding day ko so okayna ako don. may mga horror stories na din kung tutuusin about prominent wedding planners na napost dito so di rin guarantee at all times ang pagkaveteran.
also, coming from someone who personally witnessed joy catubig in a wedding (i wanted to book her kaso taken na date ko when i inquired), i disagree na jologs ang dating ng programme, lalo na that time may high profile guests pa nga. siguro depende din sa crowd binabagayan. dapat ang emcee din kasi willing to adapt sa klase ng gusto ng couple or personality nila. tsaka marami na din naman magaganda reviews si joy dito from past brides and i don't think papayag sila to accept na jologs ang taste nila.  ;D

:( grabe sis, I suggest let go nyo na yung WC na yan dahil sasakit lang ulo nyo later on. So unprofessional and irresponsible. Being on time is a very basic rule.
