Waaah mga sis super inggit na may possibility na magmeet kayo! Haha! I'd have to ask my OB din about the vaccines, ang natanong ko palang ang flu vaccine eh and he said it's fine. My husband and I would probably have the flu vaccine injected this weekend...or next.

@Lioness: sis, ganyan din baby ko...pag daddy niya na nakahawak or nagsasalita titigil siya..pag tinanggal kamay at tumigil magsalita..gagalaw. Problem ko lang din hindi masyado ramdam nng asawa ko ang kicks kasi papaloob ata eh..saka nakaharang placenta ko sa tummy.

Sisses I'm 31weeks now and I haven't seen an OB pa sa pinas, I'm concerned about tetanus vaccine required ba talaga yun? I'm worried baka required talaga and too late na sakin at this stage.. Concern pa naman ako kasi provincial hospital ako if ever manganganak and di ako ganun ka-confident about sa facilities compared sa hospitals sa sg or even sa Manila st.luke's and the likes.

@spiltmillc I'm trying to be practical regarding budget sa panganganak if I can save without sacrificing the quality of the service better, sayang kasi kung gagastos kami ng like 100k+ for a 2-3days stay lang sa hospital parang better save na lang yun for the future gastos pa kay baby. Target ko din to complete mine and my baby's things this weekend and hopefully by next week I'll start packing na din our hospital bag I'm due ng New Year based sa ultrasound and Jan.6 if based sa LMP. Meron thread dito that could help you give an ideas ano dapat meron sa hospital bag, separate din bag ni baby, mommy and hubby and better if meron list for easy reference.

sis Lioness and preggygielian, same with my baby. makulit siya when she hears her dad's voice pero kapag hawak na ni hubby ang tummy ko ayun parang tulog. though paminsan minsan she allows hubby to feel her movements.

sis Adam1025, decided ka na ba sa st.john or are you still weighing your options when it comes to hospital? if sa st.john, as i've said sa other thread marami namang OB dun and parang everyday may one or two na may clinic. may naka-post naman na schedule dun.

i've had a booster shot of tetanus vaccine before i got pregnant and 10 years naman effect so i'm not that worried about that. also, even though provincial hospital ang st.john, okay naman facilities nila. hindi naman parang public talaga. i will still ask my OB about other vaccines na gusto nyang ipa-take sa akin if ever. so far, okay ang immune system ko except the 2 days of fever i've had last month and 2 cases of colds i had during the first trimester. marami akong nae-encounter na sick people but fortunately, hindi ako nahahawa. sana tuloy tuloy until i give birth.

@preggygielian, painless naman yung contractions kaso nararamdaman ko naninikip talaga. what I do is I change positions. I lie sa left side ko then after a few seconds nawawala naman. hehe. for someone na may history ng contractions and high risk noon sa miscarriage talagang kinakabahan ako dito. although OB assured me it's normal. mas marami pa nga daw kapag malapit na mag full term si baby. basta painless sya, it's okay.

i can differentiate it daw with true labor kapag naging regular na contractions na, i feel pressure na sa pelvic area and masakit daw balakang ko. so wala naman ganun. hehe. i am praying talaga ma-carry ko si first baby hanggang term.

Sis mslcgrey, we went to st. john nga last Sunday muka naman ok yung hospital although di pa talaga ako nakapag-hospital tour. Nagtanong lang muna ako sa information about sa schedule nung OB na target ko since sya din OB nung sister ko years ago na din. Kaya lang parang ang weird ng sagot sakin, Mon-Sat daw tapos 1hour lang ang clinic nya dun the when I asked for the contact number ni OB or nung secretary nya wala daw sila access dun. Hays basta hindi masyado accommodating, pero baka naman pagod lang yung person in charge nung time na yun kaya wala gana sumagot. Pero price wise ok sya, pwede naman kami kahit sa mas mahal na hospital pero I want to be practical nga. I will check CMC din and calamba doctors although I heard pricey din dun parang level ng hospital sa Manila.

@aiah: Sana nga macarry natin to term ang ating first babies. NagkaMC din ako last year kaya sobrang wish ko talaga na mameet na namin baby boy namin next year. Yung akin kasi una ko siyang naramdaman naglalakad kami eh..haha..wala din maupuan nun kaya umuwi na kami agad tapos humiga na ako...better naman na nun. Hahaha! pero may time na ginulat ako ng asawa ko kasi nakikipaglaro..biglang tumigas ulit pero mga 5 mins naman eh ok na ako ulit. Basta painless, di ako super super worried sabi din ng tita (na OB) ko ipahinga ko lang eh. Hoping di tayo mapraning as we get closer and closer to our due dates! Hahah!!

Mga sis kahapon buti SL ako hahaha...naayos ko ang listahan ng mga gamit na bibilhin namin for our baby and for me at pang hospital bag. Sinabihan ko asawa ko na wag siya hihimatayin sa total haha!

Tanong ko lang, Kayo ba sabay pagbili na breastpump and feeding bottles? Kasi medyo weird ito list ko...bibili na kami feeding bottles before the due date...pero mga 1 week after giving birth pa ako bibili ng breastpump, gusto ko din kasi malaman kung may breastmilk ako eh. Ang katwiran ko kagabi...ayaw ko na maglakad pa para bumili ng bottles sa mall eh ang breastpump naman idedeliver sa bahay since sa US ako bibili (sobrang mahal dito eh!).

^sis ako din nung pinakita ko kay hubby mga kulang pa na things ni baby and yung para sakin nagulat pa sya ang dami pa daw pala hahaha. Akala nya siguro porke madami na kami nabili konti na lang kulang 

Ako napabili ako ng manual breastpump lang muna kasi package sya kasama ng avent bottles during baby fair sa sg, kahit di pa din ako sure kung ok milk production ko or what pero ok na lang din since mura lang naman sya so anytime may pump na din ako if biglang kailangan na  never pa naman as in nanigas tiyan ko na kakaiba pero madalas yung pag matagal ako nakatayo or naglalakad super ngalay sya at stretched feeling ko. Gusto ko maupo or mahiga na lang agad

I purchased the baby bottles 2 weeks ago, tapos yung manual breastpump ko pinabili ko sa US. Wala kasi yung brand na gusto ko dito sa Philippines. I'm going to try the manual pump first then bibili na ako ng electric kapag pabalik na ako sa work. According sa lahat ng nabasa ko about breastfeeding sis, lahat tayo may milk. Hindi pwede wala. It's possible na hindi agad magkakaroon after birth pero tyaga talaga. I learned a lot from joining breastfeeding pinays. We're not advised to pump until after 6wks ni baby. Dapat si baby muna mag-latch satin para ma-build up ang milk supply. the key daw is consistency talaga and routine din ni baby. I plan on exclusively breastfeeding si baby until I go back to work then magiiwan nalang ako stash ng BMs ko sa ref. hehe. kahit bottle fed, atleast BM parin laman I'm also planning on taking malunggay supplements around 7-8mos of pregnancy. hahaha.

Yung SIL ko who gave birth few days ago, nagformula fed agad sa hospital. naku ayaw na ayaw ko nun. hindi ako papayag. ttyagain ko ang pagbbreastfeed at pagpapalatch kay baby hanggang umayos milk supply ko if ever na hindi agad lumabas. worst case scenario, si hubby maglalatch or magmamanual pump ako. pero no-no na iformula agad si baby pagkapanganak. baka hindi bumalik sa pagbBF sakin.

@Adam1025, ako sis naka-order na ng breastpump from US. Antay na lang ng deliver. Mas nauna pa kong bumili nun kesa sa bottles kasi anlaki ng price difference dito sa pinas (more than 100% overprice). Yung bottles, meron na kaming prospective sellers na pagbibilhan from eBay pero abang-abang rin ako sa mga bazaars. Kahit kasi I plan to breastfeed, need to stash milk rin and dami ko nababasa may mga mommies na hindi kaagad nagkakaroon ng breast milk after delivery.

Sana nga makumpleto na lahat (or at least yung mga needs ni baby sa first months) before kami mag-3rd trimester. Nagsisimula na rin ako madaling mapagod unlike sa first stage ng 2nd trimester, full of energy pa.

i also plan to purchase a manual breast pump then later on an electric breast pump. maganda timing ni baby, if full term, i'll give birth last week of january. two months ang maternity leave so that will be february to march then summer vacation ng april to may. so vacation ako ng 4 months. 

as much as possible gusto ko sana breastfed talaga si baby pero syempre minsan we need to go out of the house na hindi siya kasama so i'll introduce the bottle at 6 weeks. 6 weeks nga before ka mag-bottle to avoid nipple confusion. by that time, established na milk supply mo and sanay na rin si baby to nurse. before that kasi, may tendency pa na i-prefer na lang ni baby ang bottle because it is easier for them. they use more muscles kapag breastfeeding.

about the hospital bag, i plan to have it ready before the month ends. may nabili na akong maternity pads and even adult diapers. chance ko na ulit matulog on my back after manganak so gusto ko i don't have to worry about staining the bed sheets so go ako sa adult diaper. share ko lang yung nasa manual namin from the childbirth class. ito yung mga suggested contents of the labor kit: (for the mom lang ito, iba pa yung para kay baby and kay hubby)

1. stopwatch- for timing contractions but i plan to just download a contraction timer app
2. baby oil/ talcum powder/lotion (unscented) for massage
3. lip balm/ointment (uncolored) - for cracked/dry lips
4. breath spray/mouth wash
5. ponytail headband/hair clips
6. back labor aids/ massager (baka di na ako magdala nito since alam na naman ni hubby what i like during massage)
7. diversions (gameboy, reading materials, playing cards, etc)
8. pen and paper - for notes and noting down contractions
9. list of phone numbers to call (nasa cellphone naman yan)
10. lollipopsugar lumps hard candies (if allowed instead of IV) (i'll ask my OB if pwedeng naka-heparin lock lang ako so i can easily move around)
11. focal point - for concentrating
12. 2 washcloths (1 for face, 1 for body)
13. socks
14. mirror- to see baby coming out (undecided pa ako if i want to do this)
15. flashlight
16. thermos with ice chips
17.1-2 thick towels - for when water bag breaks
18. alcohol/ hand sanitizer
19. camera
20. snacks/food for hubby - basta wag daw kakain si hubby sa harap ko especially if i'm no longer allowed to eat, avoid din yung mga food na ma-aroma kasi laboring moms can be very sensitive sa smell
21. hand fan
22. toilet paper
23. soap
24. deposit money
25. hospital registration forms (get and fill up ahead of time if possible)
26. doctor's admission slip
27. proof of insurance/ SS or GSIS form
28. personal toiletries (both for mom and hubby)
29. Fresh Orange juice (for mother: to celebrate and replenish)
30. birth plan if you want
31. Lamaze certificate - if hubby wants and is allowed to enter during the delivery

@mslcgrey: Very helpful sis yung list mo!!! Thank you! Ang list naman na meron ako yung pang HK na nakuha ko sa geobaby dito, pero icross check ko with what you have tapos add ako. Tinanong ko pala yung tita ko na OB, sabi niya, wag ko daw problemahin ang supplements for breastfeeding kasi ang best stimulus eh yung pagsuck ni baby. Sana sana sana talaga di siya mabigyan sa hospital ng formula milk (although ang public hospitals naman dito eh pro-breastmilk saka room-in).

Mga sis thanks for posting the hospital bag checklist. Nakaka-excite na talaga and pressured din, mother ko kasi sabi sakin bakit daw di pa complete gamit ko and di pa ako nag-start mag-pack sya daw dati 7months pa lang sya nakaayos na lahat. Lalo ako nataranta to think na makalumang panahon pa yun pero super oc na sya  parang bigla ko tuloy gusto mag-mall ngayon at bilhin na lahat ng kelangan haha!

I'm planning to ebf din hanggang kaya since I'm not working naman, I'll introduce bottle feeding din para if aalis ako breastmilk pa din si baby.

Mga sis here are some tips for breastfeeding right after delivery. Sa Annerley ako magbirthing classes and so excited na magsstart na siya sa Nov 18! http://www.sassymamahk.com/breastfeeding-in-government-hospitals-in-hong-kong/ Dito yan sa HK but I bet the tips are applicable to all of us.

@Adam2015: Don't panic sis...kung nakapagresearch ka naman na saan bibili at alam na ang bibilhin, isang go sa mall makukuha mo na halos lahat. Kami balak namin kumpletuhin ang hospital bag by end of Nov kaya the next weekends, magchecheck padin kami ng ibat ibang places for baby stuff kung san mas sulit at mas maganda. Madami din kami ioorder online na talagang malaki matitipid or hindi available dito...inaabangan ko lang ang last week of Nov kasi Thanksgiving na sa Thursday (Nov27) nun! Super sale!!! wooohoooo

^sis, paracetamol lang ininom ko but only if more than 38 degree celsius ang temperature ko. Every 4 hours ang checking ko ng temp. Water therapy and lots of rest lang ginawa ko.
