please correct me if I'm wrong. but, I think it applies to stocks yata yun pag mababa eh perfect time to buy (not sure). sa UITF or MF kase parang depende kung saan mo nilagay.

as per my experience kase, i have BDO equity and BPI growth fund. si BDO ever since consistent, si BPI medyo mabagal medyo naiwan, but since I like the convenience of BPI iniwan ko nalang den yung fund ko. and now biglang okay si BPI. so, no one can really predict if tataas ba ulit si SB. Since kulelat yata si SB now. Honestly, I opened this fund just coz of this thread.

For me kase, lahat trial and error. I'm still in the process of learning. If you have extra money and you can really wait for your money to grow, then by all means buy.

^^ The CoP they will give you is parang printed copy lang din nung nasa site. Pero the first one, same as with mxherr5, I picked up from the branch din. You may opt not to pick it up if you can see it on your online account.

You don't need to present the CoP din naman when you redeem.

I think its too early to gauge SB's performance but I feel the same sentiments here =( But on YOY performance http://philpad.com/best-uitfs-in-the-philippines-2015/ ...Top pa din naman si SB
Thanks sis! I have a lot if readings to do pa. I opened up Peso Equity and the settlement account. I was amazed at how easy it was, more or less 30mins ganun. Although, un lang na I can't view my investment online.

This is their insurance na may kasamang stocks.

I received an email from my branch re the status and strategy of SBC with their UITFs. Basically they are focused on stock picking rather than copying the index. They're trading style  is not for short-term and they are confident that their stock picks will perform well in the long run. So Stay invested daw.

"Corrections in prices, like what we are seeing now, are a normal part of stock market investing and having a long-term investment horizon is one way that clients can ride out the volatility."

Super down din kasi yung market. Also, based on an article I read by Aya Laraya, baba pa ata lalo around June because US is changing interest rates. Malaki yung influence ng US sa PSEi. Anyway, ganun talaga pag equity fund, very volatile.

So it really is a good time to invest now noh?
I asked rin ang difference between high dividend and peso equity and I got the same answer na pareho lang daw sya. Mas bago lang daw yun high dividend, kaya siguro mas mura.

I got my CoP today! Yay, I opened up savings account too. Ang bilis lang rin like less 30mins!  ;D Ang weird lang that yung maintaining balance is P5k and ang average nya is daily so kung iinvest ko un P5k ko tapos empty sya for example for two weeks mafa-fine daw ako kahit ibalik ko un 5k within the month kasi daily un averaging nila not like bpi/bdo na monthly.  :o

High Dividend is supposed to focus on stocks which has higher
dividends  :P

But right now the difference is very minimal.

@ regarding the savings account.
Using the monthly average daily balance is pretty
standard for all banks.
Unless you actually experienced leaving your
account below maintaining balance and putting
in enough at the end of the month to reach the
require maintaining balance, I'd go with what
BDO's website says:

^Both are invested in equities, but the high dividend fund specifically picks companies that pay large dividends, like PLDT, DMCI, and Meralco. In dividend-paying stocks, you not only earn from the stock's price appreciation but also from when it pays dividends.

What number the NAV is at does not matter in investing in pooled funds. What you want to look at is its rate of return. A P1 fund might seem cheap, but if it only goes to P1.10, then that's only a 10% return on your investment. Compare that with a P100 fund. It might seem expensive, but if it rises to P150, then that's a much better 50% return on your investment. The NAV is irrelevant.

Just to add: the most recent fund performance reports are up on their website, and OMG, the Peso Equity Fund does not have DNL anymore among the top 10 holdings. Whaaaat? After DNL's performance today, the fund managers should be kicking themselves in the head.

I'll need to search search pa and ask about it.

Thanks and mag baback read pa ako if I have time para sa aking kaalaman :)

^You can use the calculator on their website: https://www.securitybank.com/personal/investments/unit-investment-trust-funds/

For example, if you invested 50k in the SB Peso Equity Fund on March 27 last 2014, then redeemed exactly one year later on March 27, 2015, your return would be 35.56%.
