Security Bank

My dad invested a sizable amount in Security Bank's equity funds at nagulat daw sya ang ganda ng performance. Naengganyo tuloy ako maglagay hehe. Does anyone here have funds sa Security Bank, and how is it? I have zero experience with this bank, in terms of products and services. I have funds to spare, not that huge, pero still. Is it really a good idea to put it here, or just place it in my existing BPI and BDO UITF equity funds?

Anong equity funds ang kinuha nyo? Peso equity fund yung sakin. Kaso bumagsak ang stocks ngayon so negative ako ngayon.

I have the following UITFs:
Security Bank - equity (placed last dec 2013) 32%, for year-to-date - 29%, I also have the high dividend - YTD is 17.25%. I also have at  Manulife but i dont have the percentage of gain as of the moment.

Sayan nga, i placed the same amount at UnionBank Large Cap - ayun negative, even AB Capital - who is also a performer in UITF negative din ako.  Wrong timing ako when I placed in their UITF kasi that time, ang taas ng per unit nila.

Its really hard to predict. The strategy is to only place your excess savings that you are not going to use for a long time. So in case, negative just leave it there since paper loss lang yun, it can recover still in the long run.

Lastly, you need to diversify your funds.

Ayala and Salcedo. Yup. I usually do UITF placement via SB online since tamad ako pumunta sa branch.  You may open near your place para convenient. San ka bang area?

I place my emergency funds in SB's eSecure Savings. I automatically do it every payday pra hindiko na [textspeak!] makikita sa atm  and hindi rin na wiwithraw. They gain interest starting at 5K. I have my mutual funds and VULs naman so I want my emergency funds to be liquid, that way I won't be forced to sell at low when  I need to use emergency cash. Security bank is really convenient with all its online tools, and it's secure with texting you codes before you proceed to do a transaction online, or text you after an ATM transaction.

Hi guys, I invested in SB's peso equity fund today. I went to their BGC branch, the one near St. Luke's. Done in less than 15 minutes. Walang ka tao tao when I went. Super convenient. But naglagay lang ako sa settlement account. Next time na ako magbukas ng savings account kapag ready na yung automatic investment system nila. Next year pa daw ma ready e.

Also interested in their High dividend equity fund. May naginvest ba nun dito? The fund just opened last April 2014

The fund managers managed to pick two of the best-performing stocks this year: NIKL and DNL. Sama mo na rin URC.

The SB Peso Equity Fund has exceeded all other pooled funds in its short 5 years in existence. Will they be able to do it in the next 5 years? Will they be able to sustain it? We don't know. So far, only Philequity has the track record of beating the index in the past 20 years. But if Security Bank's fund managers continue to perform this well, they are set to top Philequity's historical performance.

i am thinking, instead of investing in security bank's uitf, pwede rin tayong dumerecho and buy the stocks they are buying -- like URC, NKL, DNL. something to think about.
