medyo traditional kasi hubby ko. when he proposed to me, naipon na nya yung whole budget for the wedding. he even delayed his proposal kasi gusto daw niya pag hiningi niya kamay ko eh kaya nya ng pangatawanan ang buhay na naibigay sakin ng magulang ko or kung pwedeng maexceed pa yun. i was given a budget and i was in charge of everything down to the tiniest detail. i have work din, pero napakalaki din ng difference ng sweldo namin. still, nag ipon pa din ako kasi gusto ko may share ako kahit papano. ang ending, di din nagalaw yung ipon ko, bukod sa mga expenses during client meetings sagot na talaga niya lahat. yun kasi talaga request niya. yung ipon ko ay naisama sa first joint account namin as a couple.

^ j.adore, i'm not sure whether caterers normally include lechon in their packages; i'm not going through the normal wedding preps of checking out different suppliers because i already have suppliers in mind so i'm not really sure what's out there in the market :-)

In my experience, they don't. The caterer can provide the station and serve lechon to the guests but you'll have to get a supplier for the lechon itself.

The venue naman stated they allow lechon from any supplier without corkage.

Got married on 2009. Civil wedding pero I walked down the aisle, and had entourage. nagastos namin almost 400k all gastos by my hubby kasi I just graduated that year and wala pa along work. We didn't ask money from our parents kasi we wanted to show them how responsible we were that time cause we were pretty young.

What we did was to combine our earnings and then I budgeted all our money to divide it between living expenses and wedding expenses. Okay naman to kasi we're already civilly married so I get to have all of hubby's earnings and do the budgeting. :)

We're going 50-50 regardless of the total amount spent. While fiance earns bigger than I do, its not so significant naman and we also view it na after marriage our money will be combined anyway. We both agreed to have a beautiful, albeit relatively small wedding (200 pax compared to his cousins who usually have 800 pax), and although expenses are a bit steep we usually agree naman on how far to go because we both want a beautiful wedding and not regret any details/ suppliers :)

It really is a challenge though when you can't keep within budget! We're currently 100-200k over our agreed budget, and I havent even booked a stylist yet!

We originally planned a very simple wedding and to spend only 350k for everything, including the honeymoon.  Initially, we agreed that I will spend only for the girly stuff, like my shoes, gown, accessories, makeup and bridal car.

I really wanted to get K by C, but for a 350k budget it was definitely beyond our reach. I was willing to settle for Hizon's. So Hizon's na nga dapat ang caterer. But because my husband and I are lucky to have parents who were insistent to contribute, I got K by Cunanan Catering, c/o my in-laws. My mom sponsored the lechon, photobooth and the bridal car and even gave us extra cash for the wedding expenses. Only child ako sa family ko and my husband is the only son in his family.

My husband and I were lucky that both our parents sponsored many items. Our entourage helped us by shouldering the costs of their own gowns.

All in all, we are happy with the amount we spent. Our parents were also happy that they helped us with the expenses. Mahirap lang naman kung di pala voluntary on their part yung pagtulong. Happy rin sila kasi during and after the wedding, na-observe,na-feel at narinig din nila mula sa comments ng mga guests, friends at relatives na na-maximize namin yung expenses namin.

Total expenses= 620k for 180 guests, 35k for honeymoon. So 655k for everything.

ON LECHON:

I noticed that it is a usual practice for the family of the bride to sponsor the lechon.

50/50 din kami, my hubby is sobrang strict as in minomonitor lahat ng transfers namin. we automatically transfer a specific amount during pay days. Hindi masyadong mahirap for us coz parehong Tuesday nights ang pay namin, yun lang weekly basis si hubby ako naman every fortnight. pero he doesn't know na sometimes I spend/pay suppliers out of my own money, especially pag gusto ko haha (or if need lang ng small down payment then I won't use the money from the joint account) basta continuous lang ang pagse-save.

60% h2b

And isa pa ayoko na may "utang na loob" moments in the future kaya we see to it na walang mangagaling sa kanila. Tsaka we gave them a maximum of guest na pwede nila iinivite, syempre equal sila ng side ko bale 10 friends lang dapat. Im not being mean or rude sa kanila pero may tendency kasi na maginivite sila ng sangkatutak lalo na kami ang unang ikakasal sa church within the family kaya for them it's a very big deal, alam nyo na "show off" kuno. Basta I told them importante lahat ng relatives andun.

^ I feel you sis. Kaya lang me budget kameng kailangan sundin.
