Hi mga sis! I'm 8 weeks preggy and was prescribed Utrogestan due to subchorionic hemorrhage. Meron bang mga sis dito ang gumagamit at nakagamit na din nito? Anong route niyo siya tinatake? Oral/Vaginal route? Nung una kasi tinetake ko siya orally, kaso lang sabi ni OB mas maganda daw ang vaginal route kaya I tried it last night. Ang concern ko lang sa mga nakatry na, gano ba dapat kalalim? at gano katagal? feeling ko kasi magleleak kaya natatakot ako tumayo after.. tapos paggising ko today, parang may mga white discharge so napaparanoid ako na baka di naabsorb yung gamot... ganon ba talaga mga sis?

I was prescribed this as well early in my pregnancy due to spotting and cramping. I used it as a suppository as my OB said taking it orally could make me nauseous - I was also dealing with HG and didn't want any added nausea. I put it in as far as I could at night.

^ hi sis khriseeee, thanks for the reply! I tried shifting it to vaginal route na and true enough mas nabawasan nausea and dizziness ko (though meron pa din, di lang kasing lala ng dati). How long ka nag take nito sis?

^I took it for about 2 weeks, then would only take it it I had cramping. I took it in conjunction with Duphaston

Binigay sakin to ng OB ko to:
3x a day from week 4 - 9
2x a day from week 9-10
1x a day from week 10-11

Yan ay dahil may PCOS ako so higher ang chance din ng miscarriage kaya inaalagaan ako ni doc as soon as I saw him (4w2d) kasi nagkamiscarriage ako last Oct 2013.

Sa pregnancy na to, never pa ako nagspotting (Thank God! kasi nakakaloka yun, dati brown spotting ako tapos missed miscarriage na pala).

20w2d na ako and so far so good

Hi. I personally give Utrogestan to my patients vaginally. It has direct actions sa cervix. Which is very good compared to the oral route. Kasi the oral route will pass the liver pa making the potency lesser. Compared to the local effect. Fast absorption un so no worries. 😊

hi sis ystariray, my OB prescibed me Utrogestan, and should be inserted once every bedtime and they're good for two weeks when I was in 1st trimester dahil may spotting ako; vaginal suppository siya.
True, may mga discharge na namumuong white sa panty, after few hours. Kaya my OB advised to insert the med pag matutulog na ko para nakahiga na ko.

What we did, yung husband ko ang nag-iinsert sa vjj ko, sa in sinasagad niya sa dulo using his middle finger para hindi mahulog yung med. Kahit gaano pa yung depth ng med I think normal lang talaga na may malaglag na discharge. Siguro yung discharge ay 1/8 ng gamot. After that 2 weeks, nawala na ang spotting.

sis preggygielian - sis same tayo! PCOS din ako, may mga nakapagsabi nga sakin na mas delikado pag PCOS kaya todo ingat ako.. We are really praying na this will be a healthy,normal and full term pregnancy. I was prescribed utrogestan din upon my first check up pa lang after ko mag BFP.. kaso before oral route ko siya tinetake ngayon lang ako nagshift to vaginal route kasi sabi ni OB mas effective to kesa oral.

sis MedChic - Thank you dra! (medyo awkward not to call you dra. hehe) Anyway, it was nice to get a feedback from an OB. Katuwa lang! Mas naging confident nako in taking this drug vaginally because of your reply. We are praying na wala na SCH ko sa follow up ultrasound ko.. I am taking all my meds religiously, pati yung bed rest. Prayers na lang talaga.

sis Beng01 - Thank you for sharing! That is actually a good idea.. Ako lang kasi ang nagiinsert at medyo struggle ako sa part na to.. ahahah.. mukhang dapat nga si hubby na lang din paglagayin ko. Once lang naman ako nagspotting. 5 weeks ako nun. kaso lang may SCH ako sa ultrasound kaya continue ko lang yung mga meds ko plus bed rest.

been using utrogestan since the first day of my pre natal check up. at first, twice a day then sabi ko ko kay doc that i was itching extremely. sabi nia mag once a day. so since then wala ng itching. from 4 weeks up to 12 weeks ko sia gagamitin. 10 weeks na ako ngayon so 2 more weeks to go. and this has been my longest pregnancy so far after 2 miscarriages 8 years ago.

sis i_v_y- anong route mo siya tinetake sis? oral or vaginal? same tayo mukhang buong first tri ako mag uutrogestan, week 5 naman ako nagstart.. wala naman akong naexperience na itchiness.. pero nung oral route ko pa siya tinetake, talagang may episodes ako ng severe dizziness, thank God ngayon wala na.

^ sis, vaginal ever since.

sabi ko nga kay ob baka pwede ako mag duphaston na lang. nag reseta sia ng 3x a day, susme ang mahal, 60 plus ang isa kaya tiniis ko na si utrogestan.

^ tama, mas mahal nga si duphaston. Kaya titiisin ko na lang si utrogestan. Sana ok na ultrasound ko sa friday. Thanks!

27 weeks ako ng nag dilate yung cervix ko to 1cm tapos madalas ang hilab nag preterm labor ako kaya pinag bed rest ako ni OB ko tapos nagpapalpitate pa ako sa duvadilan at duphaston kaya utrogestan oral ang nireseta niya sa akin twice a day. Yun lang ang tindi ng side effects niya sa akin talagang after ko siya inumin hilong hilo talaga ako or himbing ang tulog ko. Buti ngayon ok na 1 week lang ako uminom.

Chrischeliahxine - Glad to know you are okay now sis.. I know the feeling, nung una kasi oral ang pagtake ko nito.. pero grabeng hilo ko talaga.. masarap lang siya pag yung dose sa gabi kasi tulog agad, pero yung sa umaga, hilo to the max..

hello    first time ko prescribed itong medicine, pero just wondering if I really need it. The doc said that I have some bleeding inside the uterus daw, pero never pa ako bleed in my vagina. Is it irritating at first to put it in? what tricks you can do for easier insertion? thanks!

888fleur - I'm on this drug din sis due to subchorionic hemorrhage (SCH) detected sa ultrasound.. had a vaginal spotting once at 5-6 weeks, pero sobrang gapatak lang, parang patak lang ng ketchup. I'm on my 11 weeks now, and based sa ultrasound ko may SCH pa din ako kahit never nako nagka vaginal spotting.. pero the good news is baby is doing so well, very active and with strong heartbeat..My OB explained na kailangan tong drug na to to support the pregnancy.. so tiis tiis lang.. sobrang uncomfy lang talaga.. si sis beng01, hubby nya ang nagiinsert sakanya.. baka mas effective sayo pag ganto..

ystariray - thanks sis for answering me! sis, 3 weeks ahead ka lang pala sa akin. halos sabay tayo, what hospital ka mag-deliver? I will buy the medicine now, konting tiis na lang ako siguro. hehe!  I'm just thinking.. will it affect kaya if I use some coconut oil or lube? lagi kasi ako dry down there..

Batchmates pala tayo. regarding oil/lube im not sure kung pwede. Ask your ob kung safe ba kay baby at walang effect sa drug.. Mejo toxic nga paglagay. Hahaha.

Sa marikina valley med center ako manganganak. Dun kasi ako nagwowork, and mas comfortable ako na kilala ko lahat ng staff na maghandle samin ni baby. My ob is a very close family friend, and my anesth and pedia are my ninangs. Haha. Parang sa bahay lang ang feel pag nanganak ako, since im close to everyone.

taking this through vajayjay since my 27w due to ongoing contractions and bleeding. sumabay ata ang paglabas ng kati kati sa katawan ko. Wala ako nitong katikati from 1st to 2nd tri. Not sure kung bec of this or baka isa sa mga pregnancy give aways

Sachism - ako sis til now nakaganto pa din. 25 weeks ako ngayon, nasanay na nga ako. Haha
