^ Sulit na yan sis. We even used our JR Pass for the NEX train going to the airport.

sorry im confused i thought NEX is not covered by Jr pass? has anyone recently tried this?

We came from Japan and used the NEX last March 2 this year. We rode the NEX from Shibuya station and just showed our JR pass to the conductor.

mga sis!! i'm planning to fulfill my 7D/6N Osaka-Kyoto dream next year. finally! so please be patient with me sa pagiging OC or neurotic ng mga tanong ko. haha!

my current problem: because of the nature of my work (Financial Acctg), di ako pwede mag-leave ng last working day and first five working days of the month. matagal ko na nirereseach itong sakura season. best time talaga is Apr 1-7 kaso nga di pwede.

pwede lang ako ng either Apr 7-13 or Mar 24-30. kaso may risk either way. so inaaral ko which risk to take. hehe

Option 1: Apr 7-13 - probable na maabutan ang last 1-2 days ng full bloom then we'll watch the blossoms fall. ang risk is kung mapaaga ang fall.

Option 2: Mar 24-30 - probable na maabutan ang first bloom and probable maabutan ang 1st day ng full bloom. ang risk is kung ma-delay ang blooming...

any thoughts especially from those who have experienced the cherry blossom season? option 1 or 2?

^For me sis, either options will give you a chance to see the Sakuras. March 27 to April 4, 2015 ang travel dates namin. Osaka - Kyoto - Shirakawa-go - Tokyo ang route namin. Pag dating namin sa Osaka nag uumpisa pa lang mag bloom ang Sakura, pero may mga places na may full bloom na. See this photo I took in Osaka Castle last March 27: https://flic.kr/p/rMYTC3

Pag dating namin ng Tokyo full bloom na lahat ng Cherry Blossoms na nakita namin. https://flic.kr/p/rMtJJH Kung April 7 ang dating nyo, last days na siguro nyan ng Sakura. Baka yung Cherry blossom blizzard na maabutan nyo which is sobrang ganda! Last Saturday medyo nag biblizzard na yung mga Sakura sa Ueno Park Kung hindi talaga kayo swertihin sa Osaka - Kyoto, consider going to nearby cities in the North like Kanazawa and Takayama.

Hmmmm... we were in Japan 2nd week of March and may mga nag bloom na na Sakura sa Tokyo so very safe na ang March 24-30 if you want to witness Sakura in full bloom. =)

Kung isasama nyo Tokyo minimum should be 7 days. Masyado kasi kayo mapapagod kapag 5 days lang, amazing race ang peg nyo. Kung saan mag concentrate, depende siguro sa interests nyo. Kung may plan kayo mag Disney sea/USJ, that would take one whole day already. Kung history buff kayo, Osaka - Kyoto kayo mag concentrate. Kung mahilig kayo sa anime/fashion, mag concentrate kayo sa Tokyo

Hello Sis BlackGreen, mag overnight ba kayo sa Kyoto or 2x lang kayo mag day tour? If day tour lang, ano mga pupuntahan niyo. IMO, kaya ng 1 day lang ang day tour sa Kyoto lalo na if wala ka naming balk libation lahat ng temples. =)

So far okay naman ang IT mo, doable.

Hi sis huit, osaka na kami maghohotel, may nabasa ako na kaya 1 hour travel to kyoto. Kung 1 day kyoto pwede namin gawin yun sa day 8. Thank you sis. Magbaback read na ako ulit ng mga pwede namin puntahan na mga temples and attractions. May marerecommend/masusuggest ka sis?

Initially kasi dapat Tokyo na lang kami tapos we decided to extend our trip kaya kasama na osaka-kyoto.

Well, Fushimi Inari Shrine is a must visit, Ginkaku-Ji Temple or Kinkaku-Ji Temples pwede rin. Don't be confused, magkaibang temples yan, hehe. Ginkaku-ji is the Silver Pavilion while Kinkaku-ji is the Golden Pavilion. Either of the two will do. Then get down at Higashiyama District, that's also where Gion is. Akala ko magkalayo nga ito, gun pala lugar sa Higashiyama ang Gion. Marami ka makikita na teenagers na naka Yukata. =) Don't forget to buy One Day Bus Pass, mas makakamura ka kasi unlimited ride for 1 day 500 yen lang, pero yung pamasahe sa bus kahit medyo malapit lang 230 Yen na. So di ba mas suit ang 1 day bus pass? hehe. You can buy that sa may Bus Station sa tap at lang ng Kyoto Train Station. Usually nakasulat naman sa Bus Station kung ano bus sasakyan mo if may gusto kang lugar na puntahan. Yung lagi namin sinasakyan is Bus 100 kasi dumadaan na gun sa Gion at Ginkaku-Ji temple. Nag train naman kami to Fushimi Inari, 2 stations away lang from Kyoto Station.

I read this sa website below - Travel to Kyoto by Shinkansen – 15 minutes , 1420 yen or special rapid train, 30 minutes 560 yen.

Tama ba ang travel time? Going to Osaka - Kyoto for 6 days in 3 weeks. Below is our itinerary:

Day 1  Arrive noon - Osaka
Day 2  Day trip to Kobe
Day 3  Go to Kyoto
Day 4  Kyoto
Day 5  Kyoto
Day 6  Go back to Osaka to catch our 6pm flight.

Parang ang tagal pala namin sa Kyoto, actually hindi ko ma-fill ang days namin although ok lang naman kami na relax lang.

So... has anyone tried luggage storage sa Osaka? Meron sa train station? I am thinking alis na lang kami ng maaga sa Day 6 and go around Osaka.

^not sure pero baka meron din sa osaka sis sa kyoto train station kasi meron e kaso nahirapan kami non walang english translation.

^^ yes sis, osaka-kyoto or vice versa by shinkansen is only 15 minutes.
