Osaka & Kyoto, Japan Thread 2

Anyone who has taken this route, can you kindly share your ITs.

We've done this last August and I don't recommend it unless you've got a lot of time to spare.  Travel time from Tokyo to the Kansai area is around 4 hours via Shinkansen.  Osaka to Kyoto via Shinkansen is around 30mins.  How many days will you be in Japan?

Did this (in reverse) back in 2012.

Day 1: Arrived at Kansai Airport; Checked in at a hotel in Kyoto
Day 2: Visited Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kinkaku-ji; Night shinkansen to Tokyo
Days 3 & 4: Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, DisneySea
Day 5: Morning shinkansen to Osaka; Dotonbori, Amerikamura, Shinsaibashi
Day 6: Steak lunch in Kobe; Late evening flight back to Manila

Is 7 days enough?
How much do we need to stay in each city?
Osaka - 2 days
Kyoto - 1 full day
Tokyo - 3 days
Travel time - 1 day

^ Mas maganda sa Kyoto than Osaka. I can only recommend Universal Studios and Shinsaibashi shopping area sa Osaka. In Kyoto, there's Gion and the temples. Old Japan. So, kung ako, 2 days in Kyoto and 1 full day in Osaka.

We're doing the reverse.  From Kansai Airport, we'll be going to Kyoto which will be our base for 5 days, 4 nights.  We will squeeze in a day at Osaka to visit Universal Studios in day 3 or 4.  Then, we'll proceed to Tokyo.  All in all, 9 days and 8 nights.  I haven't finalized our itinerary but in Tokyo, we'll do Disney Sea and a side trip to Mt. Fuji.  Our return flight is via Narita Airport.

mas maganda talaga ang Kyoto
although, hindi kami nag shinkansen, hehe, night bus lang kami..LOL (tipid mode)
Osaka - 1 day
Kyoto - 2 full day
Tokyo - 3 days (dapat 2days lang, kaso, need namin ng 1day for DisneySea)

Hi! I hope anyone can help me. My fiance and I are planning to spend our honeymoon in Japan. Osaka and Tokyo. 2nd week of Feb namin plan. Hindi pa sya sure. Kasi need ko muna magplan bago namin ipush. ok na kaya budget yung 100k? gusto lang namin mag USJ at Disneysea. At syempre kumain ng Ramen. Naguguluhan pa din ako sa places eh kaya hindi ko alam san ba ko dapat mag book ng hotel.
Can anyone recommend a hotel na near lang sa stations? Thanks!

7 days

day 1 - tokyo (towers and shibuya)
day 2 - tokyo (disneysea)
day 3 - nikko (edo wonderland (eto yung pinaka fave ko sa japan. a park which recreates ancient japan)
day 4 - osaka (castle, dotonbori)
day 5 - osaka (USJ)
day 6 - kyoto (fushimi, golden pavilion (not interested sa bamboo walk)
day 7 - kyoto (more more lakad, shopping and kain sa tabi tabi)


btw, the temperature dropped to 5degrees nung day3. never underestimate autumn talaga.

OK lang ba ito for 7 days with  2 and 10 year old kids? Ano kaya maganda na itinerary kasama mga kids? Planning to go there May 2015...

we had a JR pass, most of the time agttrain kami. we only took the bus once - papunta sa Golden Temple. it was fun! ang konti ng lakad. hehe

we stayed at Reiah Hotel, it is outside Kyoto. 190m away from the nearest JR station so this works for us.

^how much jr pass sis? How about in osaka san kayo nagstay?

Chaipix, I don't recommend doing this with young kids. My hubby and I did this last Aug and sobrang napagod kami.  Maybe if you'll be staying for 2 weeks?  The shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka amd vice versa is around 4 hours and the bus is 8 hours.  That means 5 days na lang going around since 1 day for plane travel diba?  You won't be able to really enjoy much if you'll be rushing most of the time.  I suggest that you either choose Tokyo or the Kansai Region na lang.  Disneyland or Universal Studios.  I have kids with almost the same age as yours and we're doing Kansai only this April since they like Harry Potter and they've done Disneyland na rin before.  This is just a suggestion though

Hello dears! Ask ko lang if may malalapit na shops sa Chiba? Medyo nahihilo kaso ako kakatingin sa map with the Japanese characters, will study Japanese language na nga para di ako mahirapan sa trip ko next year. Sana may 100 yen shops na malapit. Will go din pala sa Tokyo Disneyland. Shopping lang talaga importante, lol.

Ako may general itinerary na (though wala pang detailed schedule), kaso wala akong makitang flights na promo! Ito, meron na naman CebuPac but for Tokyo, ayaw lumabas-labas nung Osaka. Lol.
