Hi girls,

Newbie here and newly engaged lang, still thinking when we will set the big day. Medyo sensitive topic ito. Pero si fiance he said ang budget daw namin is so and so. Does that mean yun ang sasagutin nyang amount? Tapos sabi ko nalang i will help him. And natuwa naman sya. Plan ko kasi at least maka raise ako for girly stuff like gown, hmua, yung church since ako may gusto talaga sa church.

To sis TS :) It's good to hear na you are motivated to work harder.  I work in a hospital, and I know how hard it is for new doctors to establish their name. Pero dadating din kayo dyan, you have to develop so many things, and learn many more aside from the textbook studying hehe.

Kami ni hubby (we had our civil wedding last June), we share about 60/40 this is for our church wedding namin next year :). :D  When we were just talking nonsense about our future wedding, we had long ago decided na we will shoulder our wedding and not ask from our parents.  Since I moved to my hubby's place (LDR kasi kami), and he is more financially stable than I am, I really worked triple hard para may savings pa din ako aside from my share of the wedding, and para hindi ko din mabawasan yung nest egg ko. Now I am currently a housewife, and am so bored but am happy, kasi kahit wala akong work, I was able to surpass my financial goal. :D Cheers, Good luck :D

70/30 for us, 30% coming from me and mostly napupunta sa mga suppliers na ako ang may gusto and girly stuff like flowers, HMUA, photo and video, accessories and others. The biggest chunk kasi of our wedding goes to our caterer and venue.

sis cup_keyk, baka mas matuwa siya kapag napagkasya mo yung binigay niyang amount? you can assess naman kung ano yung type ng wedding that will make you both happy. :)

we're trying not to exceed with our budget. and yes. 50-50 din initial plan on everything except wedding ring na sagot nya. then photo video sagot ko. zero peso from both families. nakakaproud lang talaga yung feeling na pinag ipunan namin yung wedding namin. to date, mas malaki na nagagastos nya kasi sya sumagot ng plane ticket ng mga guests that will be coming from their province.

50/50 din kami ni fiance. Though both parents will help by shouldering their attires for the wedding. And true na nakaka proud na napag ipunan namin yung wedding kahit sobrang tipid kami ngayon. :)

we are sharing the expenses 50-50  ;)

i totally agree about what an awesome feeling it is to pay for your own wedding. i've had relatives whose weddings were paid for by the family and they had no real say as to the details of their weddings. they were required by the financier to include all the nieces as bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, and flower girls and the nephews would be groomsmen and bearers. they had no say as to the food or venue (required to be at the family house).

i'm also doing this to set an example for my younger brothers and cousins - to show them that if you want to get married, you better make sure that you are financially capable to do so.

happy wedding preps, everyone!

Same tayo sis 120515, h2b and I will be the ones to fund our wedding. Being as panganay na babae sa aming magpipinsan I want to raise the standard for my girl cousins that if you will get married you should be prepared not just emotionally but financially as well.

Tinatry nalang namin ikeep down yung gastos.

We're all on the same boat pala sis peachlipstick and sis 120515.

Me and fiance will be dividing at 70-30, akin 30 lang ;) Mas malaki kasi savings ni fiance because he's not supporting any family member at mas malaki din talaga ang salary nya. Si [textspeak!] is offering to help also pero sabi namin kaya pa naman, ayaw kasi namin mag-over budget dahil lang alam namin na may extra funds pang available. As much as possible, we want to stick sa budget.

50-50 din samin ni h2. since we're both working overseas, kapag salary day na pinagcocombine namin yung sahod namin and once mabayaran and mapadala na namin lahat ng kaylangan, the rest nilalagay na namin sa savings for our wedding.

Meron lang kaming allotted budget for our wedding, and sana hindi namin maubos lahat ng maiipon namin, we will stick to our budget talaga. Meron ibang nag sabi na sasagot sa ganto, ganyan but for us hindi muna namin inasahan. Sabi ko nga kapag may sumagot, tanggapin natin but not necessarily na magpapa sagot kami sa kapatid, parents, or relatives namin.

Medyo OT, as much as possible kasi gusto namin na kami nalang gumastos *medyo ma pride* yung mom kasi ni h2b very vocal noon pa na wala daw syang matutulong kapag nagpakasal kami. Toinks.

For now I know my strategy if magbago isip ko. Kapag nagkaroon ng pilitan wala nang reception.  ;D

Hubby will shoulder everything except for my gown, shoes, MUA and rings (gift) He gave me a budget so Im working around it.

I dunno but pero weird parin na nahihiya ako. hahahaha I insisted on contributing pero sabe niya the money i have, I keep it to myself since he will be taking care of our needs from now on  :)

Fiance and I will shoulder roughly 80% while his mom shoulders the balance 20% (caterer). Initially planning to shoulder 100% but it was his parents that caused us to go overbudget due to additional heads. So this is our compromise. On our 80%, half-half kami ni fiance kasi I think we're earning roughly the same lang but our house is c/o him (bigay ng family, they didnt want us investing in a cheaper condo na panget resale value). Then for cars, tig-isa padin kami, what we're using now dadalhin namin.

^ I can relate to that kasi now pa nga lang were doing the draft for the guest list the elders would tell us to invite this and that or else magtatampo daw. But so far were being firm that we would only invite those who matter to us.

It was a mutual decision for us to do it 50-50 since were both working although my Mom indirectly told us that we should follow this tradition where the groom should pay for everything. But I told her that I don't want to burden him since after the wedding our income would be combined anyway. Baka mapush pa si fiance to loan if the expenses would go beyond our allotted then after the wedding ako din mag suffer by paying off the bills.
