Most of the expenses, si h2b ang may sagot. Ako, minimal lang like yung other things na wala sa list namin which is mga kakikayan ko lang. Haha. Both sides naman let us plan and do whatever we want. Pero future mil is starting to help which is totally fine with me kasi nakakatulong naman talaga, hindi yung tipong nakakairita. Like sa flowers, she offers to help which is fine with us kasi magaling talaga sya sa mga flowers. And sa food, since h2b and his brother are both chefs, hinayaan ko na sila. Though they also ask naman for our approval. We don't ask for help. But if nag-initiate and nag-offer, walang problem, sino ba kami para humindi sa grasya db? Hehe. Anyway, my stepdad and future in-laws also pledge monetary gifts :)

88% kay H2B
12% sa'ken

i really wish i could contribute more pero currently, ako lang ang may stable income sa family and I'm very grateful that my fiancé completely understands my situation. against nga sya sa idea na mag-contribute ako pero di yata keri ng puso ko yun. hehe tsaka may mga bagay na insistent ako'ng kunin like the coordinator & host tsaka yung attire ng iba naming abay. :)

Pero since the wedding will be 2 years from now i think makakaipon naman ako para makasagot naman ako ng ilan doon diba? Sinabi ko na sa kanya na ako sana sagot sa gown and for the ento and mom ko di ko naisip mom niya so hihirit ko na lang next time

Reception kay fiance, the rest sakin :) more or less 50/50 din kami.
Meron pa kasing malaking expense for the house na sya rin nagbabayad kaya ok lang din :)

Still doing the preparations... but major suppliers are shouldered by my fiance.. girl stuffs like HMUA, and gown will be me.. We will not ask our parents to shoulder anything, nahihiya kasi kami and besides both naman kami stable sa work..

Got a tip from a friend, if someone daw promised to shoulder anything, maybe cake or any minor stuffs but must have on your wedding, mag-allot pa rin ng budget para doon kasi malay mo biglang magbago ang isip ng friend/relative mo

interesting thread. :p

60/40 siguro kami. Even before I met my fiance may ipon na kasi ako kahit papano for my wedding kasi gusto ko talaga ako ang masusunod sa wedding ko.

Ang hirap ng sitwasyon ni TS. If I may ask, what made you and your fiance decide to get married na? For most couples kasi, deciding factor ang financial status before magpakasal or magpropose.

we've opened a joint account and we put all the money there.. but we've decided on a specific amount to save every month so apparently, 50/50 parin kami haha! :)

@newbiehere, is it possible na your fiance's family feels that it's your responsibility as a couple to shoulder the wedding? This is what my mom believes kasi and I agree with her -- she always told me that I shouldn't get married unless I'm ready to be financially independent (and that includes paying for my own wedding). My fiance has the same mindset. We would have preferred to get married last year, but we decided to wait until we were in a position to afford the wedding we wanted (and we bought a house first).

That said, if your future in-laws are making certain demands with regards to the wedding, like pushing you to spend more or to invite guests that you and your fiance don't want to have, I think ibang usapan na yan. My mom isn't making any demands because she isn't contributing. If they are hands-off naman, I think it's best to try and let it go nalang, especially since it seems like your fiance has strong feelings about not asking them for money. I really admire his attitude -- it sounds like he's very independent and hardworking.

Most of the wedding preps/gastos si hubby gumastos.

@juwie i asked him bakit siya nagpropose kasi time na raw. We're together for 4 years, been to LDR and ayaw na daw niyang mahiwalay sa akin.  yun nga lang nakita ko lang is that both of us went to post graduate training/studies and para kaming mga newly grad na alang ipon. And despite being in a medical field na stereotype na tingin ng tao eh mayaman na agad pagkagraduate eh hindi ganun ang buhay.  We still have 2 years before getting married. Though by that time ggraduate pa lang siya with his post grad. Praying that my practice will be stable by that time. Actually after reading sime if the replies dito somewhat inapuyan akong magtrabaho ng sobra sobra haha. I have nothing against my IL2b. Paano ba nila nagawa yun? Not that I want na garbo na wedding as well. Napaisip lang ba.

^sis probably their parents/families pitched in kaya nakaya nila magarbo kahit newly grads sila.

Pwede din naman mag pitch in ang family members if they want then you can just offer to pay back once nakapag settle down na kayo. ;)

To answer your question, kami lang ni h2b ang gagastos. We're not comfortable in asking any relative to pitch in.

sis newbiehere don't feel bad, at least ang fiancee mo naman eh hindi pabaya, the way na sinabi mo ang pagtitipid niya he is trying his best. And don't ask him to do that kasi paano kung tumangi ang in-laws mo to give something? Mas hurt iyon. I never asked him to asked his parents kasi alam ko sitwasyon nila, but I asked him to asked from his Auntie who is working abroad pang back-up lang sana without asking how a specific amount and she refused. We were badly hurt that time but what we can do diba.

It turned to be blessing in disguise na tinangihan nila kaming tulungan.

sis dr.thereal.joy, pero now nagwowork kana?
Like invitations minsan girly thing yun e. Pede
ka also mag seek ng advice if anong mas ok like strictly formal ba ang invites or traditional
or modern etc.. From there me idea kadin. Mahirap kasi talaga yan ganyan kailangan either
oo ka nalang or if willing sila mag meet halfway kasi tinanong ka din kung anong gusto mo
then mas mabuti..

50/50 kame ni hubby (oh, my gosh! saying hubby feels weird pa at this point  ;D) we didn't ask our parents to shoulder anything. kung meron sila ibibigay, we'll accept it. kung wala, ok lang din. when we decided that we'll be getting married, we made sure na between our resources, meron na kame 95% nung magiging total cost ng wedding. the other 5% madali na maipon yun thru paychecks. Closer nung wedding day, my mom gave us a blank cheque para sa reception: cocktail hour food, wine bottle per table, 5 course meal, and for the late lunch. My mom also paid for the hotel rooms nung mga na- hire namen na choir to sing sa simbahan and cocktail hour, sa ibang bisita na tumulong din para sa reception nung wedding rehearsal and the post wedding. Sa side ni hubby, the didn't give us money for the wedding. They gave us a new SUV instead.
