How long have you been dating before engagement?

we became a couple in 2000 and broke up after ilang months (highschool love). we dated again in 2006 but i wasn't ready nung time na yun (just broke up with my bf for 3 yrs) . then we became a couple again in 2008, and he proposed last july on our 6th yr anniv

i believe that if something is meant to be it will always find its way.

Met him year 2005 ... after 2 days naging kami na as bfgf (ganon kabilis) hahaha! No break ups (tampo/away shempre its normal). He proposed last year on my Birthday (2013) our 8 years of being a couple. And now on going preparation for our wedding next year of May, by then, will be more than 10 years as bfgf =)

we met on a blind date... the following day he left the country. he tried to woo me but i wasn't interested in  a long distance love affair. then he went back after a year in time for the holidays. dated me again  after 3 months kami na..after 3 months we got married. it was a whirlwind romance but i don't recommend to everyone though we are together for 17 years now. we were both of marrying age that time and so madly in love (ehem).   i was 27 and he was 32 then. i guess we genuinely love and like each other.

question: how do you politely answer people who tell you that you are getting married too fast?

we are both responsible adults and are old enough to make and stand by our decisions; i'm 30 and he's 29.

last night, we told our housemates of our wedding plans and asked them to save the date; our housemates are also couples who have been together for i guess >4 years and one of them seemed very anxious about the fact that my fiance and i are already getting married after a year of being together. it was a bit offputting and my fiance noticed it, too, because he brought it up later. but he said "well, i don't want to put off getting married to you when i'm already sure about it" and that's how i feel, too

we just told them that we're very sure about each other but i'm not sure if our answer is sufficient

It's normal and you should expect more of that through the course of the wedding preps. If you'll have your canonical, big possibility din the priest will probe on it.

Just smile and say you're both sure. Take it on a positive note that they care na lang.

 I honestly think age has a lot to do with it din talaga. If you are more matured and stable and know what you want out of life, mas madali nalang for you to commit to marriage. :-)

Nakakatuwa naman magbasa dito. Kami naman, we have been together since 2008. Ang weird lang samin is hindi siya nagpropose. Napaguusapan na namin talaga magpakasal, then we just agreed to do it last September. Parang na-feel namin na we are both ready na to commit. Nag propose pala siya pero hindi yung typical proposal na surprising. Kinilig pa rin ako kahit ganon kasi iba pala pag talagang engaged na kayo. We'll get married November next year.

thanks, j.adore :-) the funny thing is our families expected it - they weren't very surprised when we told them...hahaha! my fiance's brother said that us telling them we're getting married is like knowing what they had for lunch last week...we are also both comforted by the fact that both our families accepted our relationship and plan to get married with such happiness ^_^

@120515 kuya ko rin 1 year pa lang sila nung nagpropose siya sa sil2b ko. Sinabi ko kay mama nung kakasagot lang niya sa kuya ko as bf/gf na she is the one so di ako magtataka na magppropose siya after a year. Kami ni h2b 4 years na nung nagpropose siya. Kaka-5 pa lang namin, and 2016 pa wedding namin. kuya is 32 and sil2b is 30 while kami naman 31 and ako 28 by 2016. No reaction ako nung nagpropose na one year pa lang sila. MAture na naman sila kaya na nila yan hehe
