Pahiya ngayon si Ria, kung maka-react kasi. May WTF pa siyang nalalaman. They should apologize to Heart and Chiz.

SOP na magdown ka before getting the services. Kung bride ka, unang isesecure mo talaga is yung church and reception. Unless may arrangement sila ng Balesin - sinabihan sila na no need to down agad, they can pay in a later date pa or whatever - ayun lang hindi written ito. So wala silang panghahawakan.

Maybe hindi clarified kina Cesca na once may nagbayad, out na sila. Thus, the confusion and rage. Afterall tinawagan party nila cesca na hindi na pwede yun date. So in a way may understanding between Balesin and Cesca na kanila yun Feb 14.

Then again, by this time dapat naka-down na sa church and reception.

I beg to disagree that it is the supplier who should force or remind the bride-to-be about payments and policies. I think the onus is ON THE BRIDE or the wedding coordinator to be responsible for staying one step ahead of bookings, reservations, confirmations.

I say this because I have several friends who work in the hotels, events, planning business. Sabi nila out of 10 people that contact them and visit and meet with them etc...siguro 2 (at most) will eventually sign a contract. Can you imagine if you were a supplier and you were expected to contact and remind every single person that you ever met with, what the deadlines and rules are? That's a waste of time for suppliers. Lalo na with popular resort or venues.

I'm sure for all of us who have experienced weddings, alam natin sa weddings and other big events that involve bookings, you snooze you lose.

And like one of the Sis here said, if you are spending money visiting a potential venue, going back and forth and telling all your friends that you are getting married there, tapos wala palang kahit konting downpayment, I agree with our Sis...there is only one word for you LOL. Ok two words...the 2nd word is presumida!

I suppose the only good thing to come out of this, is it has gained Heart a bit of sympathy from the public. And in fairness to Heart, if she indeed reached out to this disorganized bride-to-be to be to help sort thing out, well kudos to Heart, that's a nice gesture.

And tama, ang grupo nina Cesca Litton ang powertripping dito, feeling nila komot Kalaw si Tyke, they can get away without any downpayment. tapos nung napahiya, ayun nag ingay na sa social media.

The management for not informing Cesca and her team of their procedure for reserving the venue. Sa tingin ko naman para sa company nila meron na silang procedures in place for such things like this di ba. Di naman pwedeng any way any how sila. If they did inform Cesca, di sila dapat nag commit verbally.

Cesca of being so lax and too confident that verbal agreement between her and whoever assisted her at Balesin is sufficient to secure her the venue. Most of all, sana di na siya nagpost ng kung ano ano sa social media, ayan tuloy, katawa tawa sila.

i was pencil booked with a hotel for my wedding. i honestly completely forgot about it, since we decided on another venue for our reception. after a month, the hotel called me up to ask if i will still be taking up my pencil-booked slot, because another party is inquiring for the same day and would like to secure the venue for the same date already.

because i pencil booked first, i was given the first option if to decide to push through or not. i really think that should be the practice, and IS the practice of most of the suppliers that i've had contact with. unless na lang na may deadline yung pencil booking.

so meaning ba, walang pencil booking sila cesca, at least?

kung ganun, ang hina naman ng coordinator nila. when we decided on our reception kasi, within days, i made a downpayment na to secure it.

well, this is an unfortunate mistake and cesca litton's wedding is on the losing end. first, they dealt with the resort team and did not give a downpayment. kahit 10k man lang na grace money would have been ok. im sure they can afford it. pero dahil member ang fiance nya, they thought ok, all is well and good. eh apparently, mas malaking pangalan si heart and chiz and they knew the owner. and when the books were checked, dahil wala namang official reservation, nawalan sila ng date. nakakainis talaga if that's the case, but they are also at fault.

ngayon kung hindi pa magbayad ng downpayment si heart and chiz at bigla maisipan ni rihanna magpakasal on feb 14, 2015, baka mawalan din sila ng reservation kasi mas malaking pangalan ni rihanna.

it's almost nice to know that these people have to deal with the same sh*z we have to deal with. minsan maganda din yung nababawasan ang pagka-feeling nila.

As someone said here, mahina itong coordinator.  If you check the Engagement thread in this forum, you can easily see that the first thing that brides do is to check the availability of the church and venue.  I think most, if not all, coordinators are well-aware of the fact that Feb 14 is one of the most in-demand wedding dates. So dun palang dapat ni-reserve na agad nila yun by making a down payment. The coordinator should've checked the reservation policy of Balesin AFTER making the first ocular inspection. Kung di pa nagpencil-book sila Cesca, I think most of the blame should go to the coordinator. At alam din naman siguro ng mga naging brides dito na kung di ka pa nagdownpayment, eh there's no assurance that you'll get the date, no matter how many ocular inspections you've made.

Ayan di na 14th,, pwede ng ituloy sa Balesin.

Based on Cesca's statement, everytime na pumupunta sya sa Balesin she ask the staff if available pa yung feb 14th so she knew the possibility na may pwede pang magpabook sa date na yun.  So she should have secured the date, if she was indeed deadset na dun gawin ang kasal nya.  Baka ayaw nya lang aminin, she was not really decided na dun yung wedding kaya hindi nag downpayment.

kawawa si cesca for "tediously planning" her wedding tapos biglang hindi pala matutuloy on the date na she preferred... pero naman, i think she is a smart girl and maybe her coordinator too... pero naman forgetting to officially reserve a venue for a wedding is a big No No. common sense nalang na since the place is nice eh hindi lang sila ang gustong magwedding doon at syempre they have to make it official, but they did not. all they did was go to and fro balesin and do this and that... they forgot the most important thing - block off the said date.

and di ba cesca kept on saying sa she went back to balesin for how many times na for occular and other stuff, sana man lang she asked nalang if she can reserve it na and pay in advance a certain amount di ba?

“My fiancé and I got engaged in April and decided to make Balesin the venue of our wedding. We went to the island in May and inquired if Feb. 14, 2015 was still available and they said yes.
 
"We did the first round of oculars with two staff members of Balesin, told them we want the ceremony in the chapel, cocktails in Balesin sala and reception at Toscana Village.
 
"We went back to Balesin just last month along with our coordinator and stylist and did a second round of oculars, food tasting, plan table lay-out and sat down with managers to discuss logistics and rooming and again clarified that February 14 is available. "

she went back 3 times, spoke to the people there... the staff kept on saying yes kase nga wala pang nakabook na ibang tao, sana man lang on the third time na punta niya, she already secured the venue but no, she just "asked" nanaman. that does not mean that she booked it already coz there are no legalities that bind it, walang black and white and sana man lang kahit text messages but there is none.

i'm not saying na walang pagkukulang sila cesca ha...

...but come to think of it, balesin contacted them that they can't be entertained anymore because of another wedding. so, they had prior knowledge that sila cesca were really planning on having their wedding there, otherwise, they wouldn't have gone through the trouble of informing them diba?

and as i understand it, wala din naman downpayment sila heart.

so...hindi ba nauna pa rin sila cesca, and they should've been asked first if they're pushing through?

i've had 2 wedding suppliers kasi who asked me first if i'm pushing through with their services, before they took on another client. kaya in my experience, practice talaga ng suppliers yun. although again, i was PENCIL BOOKED with these suppliers, kaya tinanong pa rin ako.

And sino ba yang Ria Gamboa na yan? Sorry but I've never even heard of her. But I think the reason this became a big story is because of this (never heard?) make up artist. Ang yabang ng mga statements niya on FB. Super feeling siya LOL

In her latest FB statement she said something like she won't comment na daw kasi na achieve niya yung goal niya to hold the Alphaland CEO accountable and to let the CEO know what SHE thinks of HIM.

I doubt that a billionaire like Bobby Ongpin cares what a nobody make up artist thinks of him. LOL!

I read from one of the comments sa FP na lahat daw ng events sa Balesin are upon approval of the management (meaning the owner/s) but since May (i think) hindi pa daw sumasagot ang management if it's a go or not.  The only mistake of the Littons and Kalaws is they trusted Balesin too much na nag-plan na sila without the approval of the management.  Maybe because sinabi din ng isang staff na walang ibang inquiries about the date or maybe the staff made sure na makukuha nila yung approval ng owner/s.  Malamang kaya tumanggi ang Balesin to get their downpayment is because wala pang sagot ang owner/s if approved ang request nila or not.  Coordinator nila talaga may problema dyan.  Dapat at this time, if wala pang approval ng owner/s, e malabo na talagang makuha nila yung venue.
