COL published their Elliott Wave count recently. They're predicting the PSEi will go to 7,800, and possibly 8,300. Emphasis on possibly. 7,800 is just a little over a 100 points away, and 8,300 for them right now is just a best case scenario. Are they saying the time to jump ship is very soon?

Matindi to si Jobbee akala ko expensive na sya at 215 nung binili ko, but it jumped to 240 kanina ngayon nag 232 uli.

Hi mga sisses!Newbie here.Hindi pa din ako nakapag open ng account puro research at basa basa muna ako.Based po ako abroad and interested po ako mag invest sa stocks.Plano ko po sa COL Financial at magregister na ako starting Feb. My mga questions lang po ako sa mga bihasa sa stock market.Nagtry po ako magbackread pero diko na maopen un mga old threads.

1.)Yung 5k po is yun starting amount para I-fund yun account right?Then monthly po ba required ka na din maglagay ng 5k sa account mo?

2.)Advisable po ba magstart ngayon Feb.?

3.)Balak ko po mag open online, pero tama po ba pagkaintindi ko na kailangan pdn iprint then isubmit ang requirements sa COL office?

4.)Yun 5k po ba e kailangan na along with the requirements pagkapasa

Pasensya na mga sisses, sobrang mangmang ko wala po kasi talaga akong idea.Inintroduce lang kasi siya ng bestfriend ko at nagging interesado naman po ako.Salamat po sa mgrereply.

i'll try to answer your questions one by one:
1) yes, you need to put in 5k to start funding your account. it's not required to put in 5k every month. it depends on you. however, there is a minimum funding requirement, i'm not sure how much it is though. i would suggest you fund your account a fixed amount every month and used col's eip program. you'll be able to grow your wealth through fixed monthly investing. it's just like putting money in a savings account.
2) the time to start investing is NOW - every article i read, this is the mantra. the earlier you invest, the better, because it gives your money time to grow.
3) where in the world are you based? if you have an iremit where you are based, you can go to their office and pass your documents to them. they'll process everything for you.
4) you don't give the initial funding when you pass your documents.  you only fund when your account is already opened.

^Agree, best time to invest is now. Huwag magpadala sa emotion lalo na sa stocks. Think long term

Hmm, I would be careful in these times. If we were at the start of the bull market, I would also be screaming invest NOW NOW NOW, but even ever-conservative BPI is reading that we are nearing the end of our bullish trend.

Picking the right stocks is important more than ever in this last wave 5. So if you are holding stocks like IS and CPG, please, please, please, cut it, move on, and go with the winners while there is time.

Here's part of BPI's forecast for 2015, for those who are interested:
- Market is expensive as of today.
- Party might be nearing its end (Bullish Trend).
- Market Index Maximum target before it corrects is PSEi @ 8400 (reversal).
- Interest Rates in US will be raised.
- Stock Market won’t go up without the foreigners.

Sisses, question lang regarding stock market.
I have COL account din opened  two years ago, maliit ang start up ko, but this year ko pa naman sana sisimulan ulit mag invest.
1. mataas ang price ng market ngayon so hindi maganda mag open/mag add ng stocks?
2. if hindi ngayon, kelan kaya okay? may trend ba ng pag baba ng market - I heard ghost month ba yun around august or September.
3. how do you know when the market is down or up? makikita ba to sa COL homepage, sorry, hindi ata ako marunong magbasa ng index graphs sa COL
4. if hindi maganda mag invest sa stock market ngayon, would you suggest invest it instead sa mutual funds?
5. which stocks are good to buy and keep for long term?

^^PLC looks like it's at support. Should bounce sometime soon. You can wait until you break even if you like. But if there's a better play, cut loss now and shift.

1. Investment houses and brokers are unanimous in saying that market is expensive already. But who knows, nobody can predict the future. Maybe we will break 8,300 and even go to 10,000. Just be alert -- go ahead and invest, but keep one hand on the eject button in case 7,800 is the highest we will go. Now is not the time to just buy and forget.

2. It will depend on what stocks you will buy. Each stock has different movement and entry. For example, if you just started in January of this year, you would've missed the meteoric rise of MAXS, MBT, and SMPH. You also would've already missed BDO, FGEN, and URC because those ships sailed a long time ago. But January would've been the best time to buy HOUSE. You also would've caught the dip in DNL. So iba-iba. There is no one time that applies to all stocks.

3. In COL's charting, the code for the PSEi is PCOMP. You can see as far back as its 10-year chart. Its rise and falls are there too.

4. If your alternative is equity funds, ganun din yun. Mag-direct invest ka na lang sa stocks. But if you want the no-hassle and no monitoring investing -- and only check where the index is at instead of individual stocks -- then go for a managed fund.

5. If you're going long-term (5 years or more), invest in the ones you believe in and use. Para talagang tatagal ka. Or you can just go for top picks:

BPI's are DMC, BLOOM, URC, MEG, ALI, MER, MAXS, RRHI, DNL, VLL, SSI, TEL, AP, and AEV.

super saya ng URC. sayang lang at konti lang ang nainvest ko from 2011. 98 lang kasi sya noon, tapos di ko naman inexpect na aabot siya ng 220+ today. hindi ko kasi namomonitor lagi, pero okay na okay na ko sa current gain ko dahil sa URC.

Si URC, Jobbee and DNL kasi kahit matagal ng nareach yung target price nila for me may room to grow pa din, malaki ang potential and demand kaya patuloy na tumataas ang price.

As of now I have 7 green and 4 red. Naiinis ako kay MBT ang bagal bagal hindi pa isagad ang pagtaas para mabenta na at makapagdagdag kay FGEN, atat much hehe
