Stock Market Thread VIII

Been contemplating on this for a long time and I wonder if it's right and more profitable if I will just divert our monthly top-ups to FAMI and Sunlife to stock market instead specifically to MEG, SMPH and MER.

^^That's just the style I'm comfortable with, sis. My aim is also not diversification -- it's maximization of profits. Nanghihinayang ako to see my money doing so-so in other stocks when two or even just one winning stock/s is/are gaining so much. Kung pwede nga lang, pinasok ko na lahat ng $$$ ko in DNL right from the start.

But that is me. If 500k was my entire port, I would do the same -- start with about 6-8 then cut it down to 2-4. If I had 500k to add to my port now, I would add it all to my winners. And maybe leave 5% for tsupit.

^If MEG, SMPH, and MER are doing much, much better than FAMI and Sunlife, then why not? I was actually tempted before to invest in Security Bank's equity fund since it has been and is doing so well since the start of the year. Then I thought, I might as well just buy DNL and NIKL, their top-gaining stocks. Ganun din yun.

^ wow, bilib na talaga ako sayo sis. super aggressive mo. if i have 500k, hindi ko kaya ilagay sa 1 or 2 winning stocks yung money ko, natatakot ako. haha. i usually buy yung mga blue chip lang talaga, and mga high dividend paying stocks, kahit papano may passive income naman lol.

@ms.j okay na ang 5k sis to open COL Account so far okay naman ang COL for  me ayun din broker ko ewan ko lang if may suggestions iba nating sissies here I attended na din Fundamental Analysis nila attend ka nun sis wala namang bayad basta may account ka na at nakapag-pareserve  ka na.

artificialstar, is it aggressive? It think of it as logical. What am I going to do with a 100% gain if I only put in, say, 3,000 pesos in there. If I put in 100,000 in one stock that moves an attainable 5% in a day, that's still 5,000, much more and less riskier than the 100% gain on 3k.

Getting in at volume is a defensive play. The risk of losing more is lower than the reward of gaining more, and if you put stop-losses, then the risk is virtually eliminated.

i refer to that site din sis for the dividends. may mga stocks din sa list na nasa top 10 holdings ng Philequity. TEL is one of their top performers. i get what you mean sa 100% gain na 3k. tried that nung unang pasok ko sa COL for curiosity's sake. haha.

yeah, aggressive for me sis, which i admire. but then again, iba2x ang goals ang tao eh. goal ko kase sa stocks is to use my money in 10-15 years, so i just buy and buy, accumulate as much as i can right now kaya bihira lang akong magsell and mas masaya ako pag down si mr. market haha. but i'm learning to lock in gains na rin every now and then, and pasok uli pag nag dip. hehe

i'm thinking if dapat ng bilhin si MER or antayin ko pa bumaba. Dapat ba at least 10k yung ibibili ng shares, para sulit?

you gotta buy them in lots/blocks, for MER i think minimum of 10 shares.

what your take on casino stocks? just went to meeting dyan sa casino area sa may moa, grabe ang laki pala nung ide-develop na lugar. its gonna be like vegas/macau. hindi kasi ako familiar sa ganitong industry.

^I'm no expert, but market sentiment is very bullish on casino stocks, isn't it? Booming ang PLC/SINO, BLOOM, BEL, etc.! Pati RWM, umarangkada na rin. Kung type mo, go!

Akala ko mag-gr-green pa tayo today, but 'di kinaya. Nakakatakot tuloy. Signs of reversals?

^yep agree. pansin ko din, maybe because gaming is an emerging industry? takot ko lang eh baka in the future, i-ban ang casinos? alam mo naman ang pinas at mga politiko dito. nakaka tempt hehe

not sure if reversal baka overbought na? grabe si URC ha, dapat pa noon dinamihan ko na hahaha

Uhhmm nahihiya ako magtanong, pero lalakasan ko na po ang loob ko. Hindi ko po masubaybayan ang Thread at napaka haba na po simula pa sa mga naunang page. Wala po akong idea sa stocks pero gusto ko subukan. May mga trainings po ba na inoffer or kailangan pasukan bago ako makapag invest? How much po ang pinaka maliit na investment?
