newbie here sa stocks

would you say na you have a minimum amount of money to spend in one company, say i can afford to allot 10k php a month to buy stocks .. should i buy the 10k for one company only? or split it into two?

a friend adviced me kasi na i should only target 10k (min) per company to minimize fees and then if my money is less than 100k php i should only buy 2 to 3 companies - basically to minimize fees just in case i liquidate or sell na..

so is this a good strategy? TIA!

All Andrew Tan stocks did so well today, except for EMP. I wonder when and IF its day will come?

^ayrise, I agree with your friend. Spend that 10k a month on one company only, and yes, 2-4 companies in one port is enough.

When I was just starting out, I picked about 6-8 companies. I got a feel of their movements while also studying more about those companies. From there, I narrowed my picks to those whose movements, charts, and fundamentals I like. I now only hold 4, and add short-term plays every now and then if I'm in the mood for some excitement.

BLOOM is blooming.  Nag-green na rin port ko dito...  Ipit parin sa HOUSE.  Kelan kaya aangat ito?  Medyo mataas ang bili ko at wala akong budget to add at this lower price.  Planning to sell my BDO.

2-4 companies lang pala yung dapat nasa port for diversification? hehe. i have around 12 lol. let's say for example meron kang 500k, how would you allocate this? how many companies would you invest in to?
