^^ hi sis! hindi pa din ako nakakapagpa OGTT. hehe. although sabi naman ni endo okay lang daw kahit around March na ko bumalik (3mos pp).  i sometimes test at home since i still have remaining strips. so far so good. pero yun nga, better magpa OGTT na din ako.

hi sissies,

I'm happy na nabasa ko [textspeak!] thread na to. At least, kahit papano nagkaroon ako ng hope about my blood sugar. 102 kasi [textspeak!]

^hi sis! how far along are you with your pregnancy? I feel you. nakakatakot na may halong in denial sa umpisa. hehe. but the earlier you address it, the better for you and baby.  Konting tiis lang din talaga especially if you will need insulin.

I'm on my 10th week. so long way to go.

I was recently diagnosed with GDM. Yung FBS ko was slightly high (95 mg/dL; normal is 92) and also my 2nd hr (20 mg/dL higher than normal). I have notorious history of diabetes sa family as my father and almost all his brothers has type2 DM. I'm overweight din and had bilateral PCOS. My endo told me na ako na ang perfect candidate for GDM lol. Dahil sa taas ng risk ko for GDM, kinonsider nya na maginsulin na ko right away but because yung FBS ko is not very high pa naman, try muna daw low glucose diet. So he gave me a meal plan to follow for 2 weeks, then glucose test ulit. Hopefully everything turns out well kasi if not, then kelangan ko na daw talaga mag insulin to control my sugar.

So far, wala naman akong problems with my pregnancy, i'm 28 weeks now. Very smooth ang pregnancy ko and even the size of my baby is not over her age. Actually, delayed nga sya ng 1 day as per my last sonogram pero the endo said that's better para less prone to PTL and mas maliit ang chance na ma-CS. So right now i'm into low glycemic diet talaga. I'm still allowed to eat 1 cup of rice per meal pero i'm trying to cut it na talaga especially during dinner.

Hi, I was diagnosed with GDM on my 36th week. Medyo late na rin kasi ako nakapag OGTT, but based on my previous glucose test normal naman. Failed yung 2nd hr ko which was 157. This is my 3rd pregnancy and the first 2 were both CS but never naman ako nadiagnosed with GDM. Anyway, bigla lang ako nastress kasi never nagfail ang mga lab tests ko except for this one. My OB referred me to an Endo pero sabe nga ni Endo our time is limited na kasi malapit na ang scheduled CS ko. Pinagmotinor nya lang ako ng sugar 1 hr after every meal and less carbs more protein diet then balik sa kanya after a week. The first result was 128 after lunch yesterday (1 cup rice and binagoongang baboy), then earlier after lunch naman 89 lang (1/2 cup rice and fried chicken). So I guess iwas rice talaga ako. The ultrasound was done the same day ng OGTT ko. So sabe ni Endo medyo reassuring naman daw yun. Ayun lang share ko lang. Safe deliveries sa ating lahat mga mommies :)

Was diagnosed at 32 weeks.  Now at 37th week, controlled na siya if I follow my meal plan. It goes as high as 136 if marami yung carbo and sweets but mostly below 120 after 1 hr of start of meal.

Mga mommies i have a question. I started insulin injections kasi 2 weeks ago and sa inner thigh ako nag-iinject. I remember my endo telling me na iba-ibabin ko ang injection site para hindi magbruise, so that's what I'm doing. Pero napansin ko kasi na for each injection site, i develop this huge red bump na parang malaking mosquito bite. Matigas sya pag hinahawakan and it's a little itchy pero di naman sobrang kati. I'm not sure kung allergic reaction to or what. May nakaexperience din ba sainyo ng ganito?

^how long have you been doing the injections na sis? This is usually common for those who just started with insulin therapy but usually resolves over time. don't forget to let your doctor know about this too on your next check up. :)

^2 weeks pa lang sis. Medyo nabother kasi ako ang lalaki nila, as in the day after ko mag inject, mamumula sya at titigas. Huhu. Kalerks. Anyway, two more weeks before ako bumalik sa kanya. Thanks so much.

^hi sis simang. ako noon sa tummy nag-iinject. basta not within 2inches from bellybutton. i noticed pag sa taas na part ako nagiinject, nagmamark sya (mamumula for til 3days) pero hindi naman matigas.  for some reasons mas takot ako noon maginject sa thighs than sa tummy.

^thanks skela. I asked my endo about it and sabi nya normal daw na namumula pero observe ko daw for a few days sa ibang site kung same reaction.

sis simang, wala akong GD, but I also inject myself everyday with heparin since nung nalaman kong preggy ako. Also, gano kanipis yung syringe na gamit mo sis? Yung sakin 1cc , 29G, 1/2". share ko lang, hope this helps. :D

Thanks sis talula and which is which. I use the smallest needle, ultra fine na 4mm. Actually hindi sya masakit, as in during injection parang wala lang. Pero the day after dun sya namumula and nagkakaron ng bump.

I see. Levemir din ako noon. Hope your endo can explain your body's reaction. ang hassle kasi that it adds pa on top of being pregnant and having GDM.

Hi soon to be moms! i was diagnosed with GDM on my 34th week. im now on my 38th. i had my first ogtt on my 6th month. negative pero since may family history ako ng DM, i was tested again and it turned out positive. hindi pa naman din ako mahilig sa sweets pero pag magkakaron ka, hindi mo talaga maiiwasan. my ob is dra cruz-javier from stlukes global. im so thankful na sobrang important sa kanya na managed ang GDM kasi maaapektuhan si baby and syempre, objective yung healthy pregnancy. my baby is big. GDM moms usually have big babies kaya prone ma cs.  i was referred to an endocrinologist. i was pricking myself four times a day pre bf, 1 hr after start of every meal. she set a goal to meet and i was asked to have a recheck after a week. i was also referred to dietary counselling and i was prescribed 1800kcal/day. i sticked to the diet plan and learned a lot of things. tamang eating habits and disiplina dn, thank God, namemeet naman yung blood sugar targets and i was not prescribed insulin. sooobrang life changing ng pagkakaron ng GDM kasi pregnant kana, tapos gustong gusto mong kumain tapos bawal masyadong madami. for those soon to be moms, iwasan natin yung ripe mangoes. i was eating 1 whole mango per meal yun pala sobrang taas ng sugar content. konti na lang lalabas na si baby. it really boils down kung pano iaaddress ng doctor nyo yung GDM. may mga kilala kasi ako na deadma lang kay OB. pag malaki si baby, edi cs. that shouldnt be the case. after this pregnancy, ill also be seeing my endo so i wont be developing Type 2 DM post partum.
