Malaysia/KL Guide (Thread 10)

We will be travelling to KL on July 27. 6PM na arrival namen sa KLIA2. Since first time namen, I was thinking of taking the train, KL Ekspres to KL Sentra. Ang mahal lang ng fare RM55. Nabasa ko some of you are taking bus. Mas ok ba talaga kapag Bus?

We will be staying at Concorde Hotel, which is walking distance from Bukit Nanas station. Kaya naisip ko puro train nalang.

Mga sis first time kasi namen, any tips? Di ko gets yung mga tickets ng train sa malaysia, ang dami may Monorail, may kung ano anong Line. Yung card ba nito iba iba din?

>>taking the bus, if you're not naman in a hurry, will save you more than half the price the cost of taking the train. bus is only rm10-11/pax ata, and sa KL Sentral pa rin naman ang bagsak mo.

Sisses, pahelp naman if ok ang itinerary namin. Nov. 29 pa naman travel date namin pero nag sisimula na ko gumawa ng itinerary. Mabilis na din ang araw e. haha. Arrival to KLIA2 is Nov. 30 12:35am. We can check in naman na sa hotel kasi nagpa pre-booked na ako sa Sky Hotel for Nov. 29. Yun din kasi ang advise nila para makapag pahinga din kami. Here is the itinerary i made:

Legoland ( ipupush talaga namin ito kahit malayo. haha)

Our flight back to Manila is 8:00pm pa so we have a lot of time pa pero wala na kasi ako idea kung saan pa maganda pumunta. Ok po ba itinerary ko? Or may pwede pa kayo suggest?

Sobrang out of way lang ang Legoland since malayo ito from KL, sayang ang travel time back and forth. Around 5 hours travel time depending on traffic pa. Isabay nyo legoland if you are coming from SG. Alternative for this is Genting Highlands or Sunway Lagoon if you are after themed parks. Mako-cover nyo na rin ang Beryl's Chocolate factory if consider nyo GH.

Regarding Putrajaya tour, if you'll avail the bus tour, 2 lang schedules nila, 11 AM and 3 PM. Good for 2 hours lang ito and i think u wont catch the night view here since late  ang gabi sa Malaysia like 7 PM na maliwanag pa. Option nyo here para hawak nyo time nyo is by renting a taxi which is more expensive. Back read ka na lang sis for the rate. Yung s bus tour is RM 20 as of my last trip, December 2015.

Not sure if u are aware but in MY, there's additional charge of 50% on top of your taxi bill from 12 MN to 6 AM.

If 8 PM flight nyo pabalik PH and sa KLIA2 pa kayo, u need to be there at least 2 hours and from KL (assuming sa Bukit Bintang kayo) is around 1.5 hours travel time depending on the traffic pa (BB-KL Sentral-KLIA2) if through bus kayo from KL Sentral to KLIA2 is around 10 to 11 RM.

Hi Sis omneecka! Thank you for your reply. Oo nga e, naisip ko din travel time from KL to Legoland pero gusto talaga i push ni BF to kasi hindi namin napuntahan last December nung nagpunta kami sa SG kasi super pagod din kami. May nakita kasi ako sa airasia KL to JHB, 1 hour lang, you think it will be much better than riding a bus with 5hrs travel time? Do you know if traveling to JHB, do we need to be at the airport 4 hours before departure or 2 hours lang? I will try to convince pa din BF if pwede na Genting na nga lang.

Noted on the Putrajaya tour. Will take note of that. Sayang naman if we can't see the building with lights. Mukhang ang ganda sa pictures na nakita ko.

Yes, I'm aware of the taxi fare, i checked with Sky hotel they do airport transfer for MYR35 only per way. Yes, Sky Hotel in Bukit Bintang. we will take note on the travel time to airport. Thank you.

If gusto nyo talaga i-push yung Legoland nyo by plane, I suggest na gawin ito on your first day para di kayo pabalik balik ng airport which is an hour to an hour and a half sa city by bus kasi sayang  yung time. Other than Legoland na sobrang pambata eh may JPO din dun - everything on sale na branded outlet store. May mga nearby hotels naman sa airport na pwede kayo magcheck-in for a day at mag-iwan ng gamit, just make sure na may suttle service sila to/fro airport.  Kung cowboy kayo at walang gaanong dala eh marami din natutulog sa airport but just make sure na pahinga kayo before your travel date kasi mahirap matulog ng naka-upo.  Pwede nyo ibook yung 1st flight to JB which is around 7AM tapos last flight is mga 9PM.. suggestion lang naman para sa city na lang kayo after..

**May lockers din naman sa Legoland if may mga dala kayo.

Sky hotel is in Bukit Bintang pala so from there ay pwede na kayo magmonorail going to KL Sentral then transfer kayo ng KTM train (hiwalay bayad) to Batu Caves (an hour or 2 is normally enough kasi puro picture taking lang naman) - ok yung morning para kung gusto nyo umakyat ay hindi gaanong ma-init.  Bawal nga pala ang nakashorts sa cave nila). Magtaxi na lang kayo from Batu to Zoo Negara (9-5PM lang operating hours nila).  Yung KLCC is same location lang sa Aquaria kaya pwede ka pumunta doon before or after petronas. Kung around 6PM kayo nandun sa KLCC, pwede na kayo magpicture sa Petronas for day view then mag-Aquaria at paglabas ay evening view naman. Sobrang liit lang ng Aquaria, parang mas malaki pa yata Manila Ocean park. Pwede nyo na rin i-inject yung Beryls factory tour before going to KLCC (from the zoo) kung maaga pa.

Maraming malls around your hotel area kung sa Sky hotel kayo kasi nasa Bukit Bintang lang din yun, so pwede kayo mag-malling every night before matulog. 

Check this for Putrajaya tour, wala silang night tour for now (https://www.kliaekspres.com/putrajayasightseeing/) pero pwede rin naman ito i-DIY at magbook na lang ng cruise ng mas maaga or gabi if you want it at night  na normally available ng Friday at Saturday (http://www.cruisetasikputrajaya.com) from Bukit Bintang/Imbi, go to KL Sentral then KLIA Express train to Putrajaya Sentral tapos taxi or bus to Putrajaya proper/precints.

Pwede kayo magpunta ng Petaling Street or China town (note: walking distance lang ito sa KL Gallery at Central Market) before or after Putrajaya for souvenir shopping kasi mas mura at maraming mabibili dun lalo na after 6PM instead na mag-mall - from KL Sentral train to Pasar Seni, sa may left side ng train station ay makikita nyo na yung Central Market at Katsuri walk (not sure about the name but sa gilid lang ito ng Market). Sa dulo ng Katsuri, turn left at ang dulo dun is yung KL Gallery. Yung papunta naman China town is sa may main road ng central market to your right kung galing ng train station.  Last stop is yung street food sa Bukit Bintang na maraming turistang nagpupunta. 

Last day, pwede pa kayo mag-genting highlands ng umaga kung may budget pa since gabi pa byahe nyo - enough na yung half day dito kasi sarado pa rin yung outdoor park.  Lamig, Casino, cable car at Nike factory Outlet ang dinadayo dito.  May bus na rin from Genting to KLIA2 na dati 35/head - not sure now pero every 2 hours sila umaalis.  Kung mapapaaga naman kayo ng dating sa KLIA2, eh parang nag-mall na rin kayo kasi maraming shops dun.

Sis still_hoping thank you for your detailed input. I'm thinking that way also nga na dumeretcho na lang kami upon arrival namin sa KLIA2 pero iniisip ko din na ang tagal ng paghihintay namin. hehe. Do you know sis if 2 hours or 4 hours before flight ba ang required if going to JHB? Our arrival in KLIA2 is 12:35am and if magproceed kami to JHB we should be there at 5am if our flight is at 7am di ba?

Thank you for the recommendation kung saan makakabili ng mga souvenirs. Itatanong ko pa din sana kung saan nga nakakabili ng mura lang. Regarding on the Genting, hindi ko na nga sya isinama sa itinerary ko kasi nabasa ko nga na close pa din but we will check pa din kapag malapit na flight namin. Thank you sis!

local flight lang yung JB kaya 2 hours before yung required.  Dadating kayo ng JB around 8AM.  You may take a cab from the airport to Legoland or pwede rin magshuttle bus to Larkin/bus terminal then another bus from Larkin to Legoland

I've been to Malaysia 2013. Now, I have another opportunity to travel for free.
Meron pa ba kayong pwedeng isuggest mapuntahan, I'm thinking of the following:
1) Genting Highlands ulit para maexperience ng kasam ko yung cable car. Ok ba ang strawberry farm and Chinese temple?? Nung nagpunta kasi kami dati gabi so super foggy, sumaglit lang kami talaga
2) Cameron Highlands - worth the trip ba ito?
3) Putrajaya - yung bus tour ba pwede pa ring hintayan kasi gusto kong makapunta inside some of the mosques ang gaganda kasi.
4) PETRONAS tower or KL tower (ang mahal kasi, which one is better?)
5) Melaka (worth the trip ba)
6)Colmar?

As for hawker's food prices, depende sa food sis. From 3 to 5 ringgit cheapest na nakain ko kasi pag price is 10 ringgit per meal is namamahalan na ko. Hahaha!

Hello everyone!

First and foremost, nakakatuwang makita na very active pa din ang GT.

Now, please please help me. I need your advice. May kailangan asikasuhin husband ko sa Selangor and sasama ako para na din bonding trip. Since biglaan to, we are in a tight budget so advice for cheap deals will help a lot. Here are my questions:

1. We will arrive in KLIA (me from abroad) and KLIA2 (my husband) ng past 1 am. What is the best way for us to go to KL Sentral? Should I go to him? or he should come to me? How?

2. Confirmed ba yung bus sked ng Skybus (Air Asia) na after 1 am? Nakita ko sa site parang meron silang 2:45am.

3. How to go to Selangor from KL Sentral?

4. Mahilig ang husband ko sa exotic foods. He even wants to try yung mga insect. Saan meron nun?

5. Ano pa ang pwedeng gawin sa KUL na hindi masyado expensive except mosque visits? Parehas kase kaming ex-OFW from middle east so medyo sawa na kami sa middle east related stuff.

6. Ano ang cheap sa KUL? Cheap compared to Pinas.

^ 1.  best way will still be to take a cab or one of you takes the shuttle bus to go to KLIA2 or KLIA to meet up then sabay na kayo punta ng KL sentral.  or for cheaper alternative, each of you takes the bus to KL sentral and just meet up there.

2.  yes the bus schedule are confirmed sa Sky bus.

3.  From Selangor to KL sentral, wala ng ibang mode of transport that time so talagang cab na lang kayo pero additional 50% ng metered fare kasi its already past midnight.  San muna sa Selangor sis kasi ang airport Selangor area din.

4.  walang ganon ka-exotic dito sis e.  exotic na ata yong frog porridge or durian itself. 

5.  pwedeng gawin, you can take a walk around the city, if you are up to it.  sight seeing lang.  start from KLIA - Petronas then papunta kayo ng Bukit Bintang, lakad kayo until Masjid Jamek and then Chinatown.

6.  Cheap?  Not much, pero maraming mga items na nakasale na pag kinompare mo would be cheap.  It depends on what you want to buy.  Some stuff are cheaper like Vincci apparels (VNC sa mga malls sa Pinas), etc.

Sorry for being away for more than 2 mos. ata, hehe. I was stationed overseas and super dami ng work lately, no time to read GT.  But I'm back (on and off)

I emailed Skybus while waiting for reply here and yes, confirmed daw sched nila sa website. Yey!

Ang punta namin ng Selangor ay the following day pa ng morning so I guess, mako commute namin yun.

May additional questions lang ako:

1. Kung past 1am ang dating ko, paano ako makakapunta ng KLIA2 (from KLIA) para sabay na kami mag Skybus to KL Sentral? Kung sya ang pupunta ng KLIA, meron bang bus na masasakyan kami from KLIA-KL Sentral? Skybus lang kase naresearch ko and they are departing from KLIA2.

2. Meron bang hotel na walking distance or accessible from KL Sentral assuming na mag Skybus kami from KLIA2? If yes, any recommended hotel?

^ 1.  There is a shuttle bus from KLIA to KLIA2 and vice versa.  And in both terminals, me mga bus going to KL sentral na.

2.  Madaming hotels sa KL sentral sis, kasi malapit central station siya ng trains transpo dito sa KL.   It really depends on your budget, you can check out agoda or tripadvisor to know alin pasok sa inyo.  Di kasi ako nakapasok pa ng KL sentral hotels e, sa Hilton lang when my uncle stayed there.

Hello girls! for those who wants to try Legoland malaysia or a quick getaway from Singapore. Here's a tip for a budget friendly travel.

We went to JB around 2 months ago. Nag commute lang kami, as is public bus.
Here's the full travel info that we did.
1. 6:00am, Go to Newton Circus, ride a bus CW5 going to JB Sentral, $3.40 (per head)
2. Alight in Woodlands checkpoint (bring all your stuff), clear from immigration, then just follow the crowd. Pila kayo sa CW5 bus then board again. This might not be the same bus, thats why you need to bring your things with you.
3. Alight in JB Sentral immigration, clear the immigration then voila! You're there.
4. For a hassle free trip we book an airbnb --> www.airbnb.com.sg/c/ljavier12 (You will get 1,300php when you book and I will get some credits too!)
5. Our host provide a car to bring us from JB sentral to her home, then to legoland. (50 ringgit)

Her place is so near legoland, pwdeng lakarin mga 15mins. Tapos mabait sya, free trip yung from home to legoland. Her place is a 2br new condo, with infinite pool and sauna. It was a good deal really. If you want pictures PM me.
