if you take a bus from singapore to kuala lumpur, book yourself at Hotel Sentral. it is just across the road from the bus terminal. super convenient. especially if it's a night arrival at kuala lumpur and you dont want to be lost in the darkness.

My friend and I went to Penang early this month. 3d2n kami dun. Super enjoyed the food! Lalo na yung Char Kway Teow sa Lorong Selamat. Sinuggest lang yun ng taxi driver namin from the airport kasi malapit lang hotel namin dun. So dun kami nag-lunch. Even sa Lonely Planet sabi yun daw ang best Char Kway Teow sa Penang. Carinderia style and then look for the auntie with a big hat. 😄 Then mostly sightseeing and picture sa mga street arts. Sayang nga lang at di namin nakita lahat. Very laidback lang dun so very relaxing. Di yung tipong nagmamadali to go to the next part of the itinerary. 😊

Will be there this weekend and i am planning to select accommodation once i am there.

Ok lang ba yun? Coming from PH ako and will land first in KLIA2 then another flight going to Penang.

Will stay there for 2 nights then will head to KL na.

^ My friend and I stayed in Glow Hotel. Okay naman siya, may free wifi. Hehe. We chose that place kasi ang daming malapit na kainan dun lalo na yung Lorong Selamat for the Char Kway Teow (though lunch time lang siya open) and Lorong Baru which is a famous hawker center at night. Though marami pang kainan around the area.

When we arrived, since lunch time na yun, dun kami sa Lorong Selamat kumain. Then balik sa hotel to rest. Then nagpahatid kami sa may Chowrasta Market tapos nag-purchase kami ng Hop On, Hop Off bus ticket. IMO, di siya okay kasi ang haba ng waiting time. Parang naubos oras namin sa paghihintay. Pero that afternoon, napuntahan namin is yung street art malapit sa jetties and yung Georgetown church. Then lakad going to Love Lane na di na namin napuntahan kasi naligaw kami. Instead napunta kami sa isang cafe na may masarap na matcha latte. Chulia Lane Cafe ang name. Ang sarap din dun. Then nag-HOHO uli going to Gurney Mall. Ok naman yung mall na yun.

The next day, from Chowrasta Market uli, nilakad na lang namin going to Lebuh Armenian/Armenian Street para sa mga street art uli. Ang dami kasi dun na magkakalapit. Nataon late morning to after lunch time. Buti na lang may sunscreen ako kasi ang init. Hehe. Then dahil nga nag-HOHO kami, around 2pm, nagpunta kami sa Penang Hill. Overlooking ng Penang. Daan pa sana kami nun sa Kek Lok Si temple (larges Buddhist temple daw sa Southeast Asia), pero di na kami pumunta kasi pagod na kami. Pero sayang nga kasi mukhang maganda dun based sa pics sa isang friend ko. Then bili ng pasalubong sa Chowrasta then back to hotel. Dinner namin malapit na sa hotel kasi nagkalat talaga mga kainan dun.

Mostly street art and food ang pinunta namin dun kaya worth it naman. As for the transpo, mostly buses. Meron yung free bus, HOHO, and yung city bus. I think sa may clan jetties ang main bus terminal. SG-Penang-SG ako nung nagpunta nun kasi yung friend ko based sa SG. Pero maliit lang naman Penang so kaya na ng 2 days yun. We just relied on a map for the street art. Meron naman sila nun. 😊

any feedback on Hotel Istana mga sis? or other hotels marerecommend nyo within this area?
planning to revisit KL on New Year's weekend. 2D1N lang. travel by bus lang from SG.
been to MY thrice this year - Malacca, Legoland and JPO but it's been 3 years na din huli kong kita sa Petronas, namiss ko na lol.

^ maganda ang Hotel Istana, though nakikita ko karamihan na nag-che-checkin don is mga from Middle east.  I love their buffet though.   same hotels around the area are Shangri-la (further down a bit), Prince Hotel, Melia Hotel.  madami around that area sis kasi near KLCC na siya.

yes, except Shangri-la where you have to walk pa papuntang Hotel Istana area, parang dulo ng Monorail station papuntang crossing yong Shangri-la - Hotel Istana distance nila.  Melia hotel naman is further down of Hotel Istana pero pwede ka ng mag-shortcut sa Bukit Bintang then Pavilion then covered walkway na.

Kek Lok Si temple and Penang Hill pa lang ang itinerary namin on our first day in Penang. We are not planning to avail HOHO dahil sobrang tagal daw ng waiting time.

How's your experience in Penang Hill? What day did u went there? Mahaba ba pila or did u avail the express pass? Is it really at par with HK's The Peak?

May area din ba sa Penang na mala-Roxas Boulevard where we can have a great view of sunset?

Mga sis, how much kaya ang kelangan pocket money for 4days 3nights stay in KL, for 2 pax? We plan to tour within the city lang. Budget traveller kami ni boyfie. Thanks

^^ not much naman sis pero you can still get some good stuff some still up to 70% off di pa ako nakakagala masyado these days sobrang busy lang.   

^ sis, it depends on your food preference.  if let's say sa food, and sabihin natin na RM10-20 ang budget niyo per meal, so nasa RM30-60 na siya per day per person.  sabihin mo na lang na nasa 2000-3000 pesos per person sa food, then isama mo na lang budget niyo ng flight, hotel, and shopping and other expenses to it.  siguro, papatak ka rin ng 15K-20K per person.

Done with our Malaysia trip, super enjoy although not well-planned ang itinerary namin

Day 1 - travel lang... pagdating ko ng KLIA2, bus diretso Melaka na. 2 1/2 halos ang byahe. Met hubby in Melaka Sentral since he was there for 4 days na for training, then hotel na.

Day 2 - took bus from Melaka Sentral to Resorts World Sentosa - nag USS lang kami then balik ng gabi sa Melaka. Grabe, 10AM ETA namin sa USS, pero past 11 AM na kami nakarating. Suuuper tagal sa Singapore Immigration. Buti na lang, we really planned ng mag-avail ng express pass so sulit na rin. Mahal lang talaga ng food sa SG.

Day 3 - ikot sa Melaka the whole AM. Love the "Stadhuys", cute tingnan. Pero super init kahit 8AM pa lang. After hotel check-out, byahe na to KL. Sa Terminal Bersepadu Selatan kami bumaba then train going to KL Sentral, then monorail from KL Sentral to Bukit Bintang. Super loob pala yung Sky Hotel. Nung pagabi na, we went to Petronas, hala ang ganda!!! Eto ang highlight ng trip namin, super na in-love ako sa Petronas. Love also Suria Mall, ganda rin. We ate in the food court, mura ng mga food.

Day 4 - Putrajaya tour from 11AM to 2PM.... Ang init, grabe, hahahaha!!! MYR20 lang per head ang tour. After the tour, tambay muna sa may mall in KL Sentral and try Nando's. then, punta kami sa may Merdeka Square. Ganda ng Sultan Abdul Samad Building!!! Nung gabi na, umikot na lang kami sa Berjaya, Sungei Wang Plaza & Low Yat Plaza. Ang daming mura sa Low Yat Plaza.

Day 5 - Low Yat Plaza uli, hahaha!!! We bought smart watch, 2 USB, 1 powerbank & wireless mouse for almost P2,000 only.

Lessons learned from our trip: aralin ang transpo system, hahaha. Buti na lang friendly & systematic ang train & bus transpo sa Malaysia. Bring enough cash, credit card & look for hotel with good WIFI. I would suggest na if you're after the tour / roaming around KL, mas ok mag-stay near the KL Sentral station. But our stay in Sky Hotel in Bukit Bintang is enjoyable kasi lapit sa Low Yat, lakas ng WIFI & the room is really nice. There are lot of money changer din in Sungei Wang Plaza in Bukit Bintang, pinaka ok na rate yung nasa right side pagpasok mo ng main entrance. Dun na rin kami bumili ng pasalubong (left side) - choco oatmeal 90 pcs. for MYR25. Sarap daw sabi ng mga binigyan ko. There is also a money changer in KL Sentral, tabi ng McDo.

Possible ba to book online for sleepers train? I was trying to book thru KTM Ticket online for KL - Arau (Langkawi) for February 2016 travel, no available trip on my preferred date? its either i book in advance or take a risk and just book on the same date once I arrived in KL Sentral. Any suggestion mga sissies?

Currently here in George town, Penang and thanks God ngayon lang umulan during our stay.

Was able to visit Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si temple on our 2nd day and ate at Gurney Drive Hawker Centre on our 1st and 2nd night here. Just this morning we visited the street wall arts mostly in Armenian Road. Iba pala feeling pag ikaw mismo nakakita nung street arts nila. Hehe! Sobrang init kanina and biglang umulan. Char Kway Teow galore kami especially ako dahil favorite ko talaga ito since i worked in SG. From simple hawkers to the one which was cooked by the old lady in red big hat, natry ko talaga mga Char Kway Teow. Haha! 😊😊 Was able to ate also Penang's famous Chendul and Asam Laksa which were both featured in Jason Yeoh's Axian Food Adventures in Asian Food Channel.

Byahe na namin later to KL.

^Wow sis, na-miss ko bigla Char Kway Teow ni auntie with a big red hat. 😄 Ang daming tao pa rin ba? Ganyan din weather when I was there - ang init sa umaga and hapon then umulan nung gabi. Dun sa street arts, na-sad ako kasi di ko nakita si Bruce Lee. And dahil may iba out of the way from Armenian, di na namin napuntahan.

^mga 11 AM sis andun na kami sa pwesto ni auntie with red big hat. Haha! Kaso nagre-ready pa lang sila kaya dun kami kumain sa katabi. I orderes their char kway teow na 7 RM and masarap naman dami din prawns. Actually magkaiba sila ng lasa ng char kway teow. I find oily yung kay auntie pero ansarap ng prawns nila fresh na fresh talaga and ang lalaki. I ordered yung 12 RM. Iba-iba lasa ng bawat Char Kway Teow na natikman ko. Pinaka di ko nagustuhan is yung sa gurney drive na may pila laging mahaba sa left side. Hehe!

Sarap sa Penang, laid back lang. Magastos lang kaya yung pasyalan is malalayo.

Di ko rin sis nakita si bruce lee. Hehe! Nakita ko mostly is yung mga in bronze and copper. Ang saya nung makita ko yung pusang malaki sa isang malaking wall. Buti na lang unalis yung naka-park na sasakyan kya napicturan namin ng maganda. Hehe!

^Oo nga, laid back nga sa Penang. Naging problema ko rin sa pag-picture ng big cat yung mga sasakyan na naka-park. Tapos yung sa gilid ng building yung may mouse na nagtatago. Sayang di ako nakakuha ng magandang shot kasi panira yung mga cars. Then sa motorcyle challenging ang pag-pic kasi daming dumadaan na sasakyan. Hehe.

^sayang sis napicturan ko naman yung mouse sa gilid pero separate pic, may trick pala yun para magmukha silang magkatabi nung big cat. Hehe! Yung sa bicycle na may bata mahirap nga kasi andaming nagpappic and dami rin sasakyan na dumadaan. Hehe!

Currently here na in KL, does anyone know kung pano yung sa Putraya tour na 15 or 20 RM per pax? Nagtanong ako sa KL Sentral information pero sa KLIA Express daw yun and walang from KL Sentral. Sayang kasi wala na yung RM 1.00 na Putrajaya tour. Ang mahal naman nung iba nasa RM 100 and above per 2 pax.
