Hi jonisha, from what I learned from backreading here, low returns lang ang money market fund, so relatively safe siya, it's good for just parking your funds that you will need in a year, so kind of insignificant ang returns kahit bdo man or bpi.  You just go for the bank you trust more, and more convenient for you.

For topping up sa sbpi short term fund, you just do it online.

sis yung short term fund and money market fund is almost the same lang po ba sya? if meron na akong existing BPI Short Term Fund no need to open na ng money market kasi parang redundant na lang sya tama ba?

Sis itong money market fund at bpi short term fund ba na ito pede kong i-park yung pera ko for long term din instead sa banko let say 2-3 years or more or kung kakailanganin ko lang talaga yung pera sabi mo kasi sis "it's good for just parking your funds that you will need in a year"

nag start ako maghulog April this year. lugi pa tuloy ng 1,700+. GRR!

hi! kakabackread ko lang. newbie lang ako sa investments. mahina pa loob ko for stocks so, sa "relatively less risk" investments muna ako.

VUL palang ang meron ako. mejo kakastart pa lang din. then i am eyeing for UITF or MF na. recently, nalaman ko lang na may BPI Investment Funds mga friends ko. i just dont know what product, specifically. But from what i read here, parang mas okay for me ang BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund (over Philippine Stock Index Fund and BPI Philippine High Dividend Equity Fund) Tama ba assessment ko, girls? waaa.

Also, wala ako masyado nabasa BPI Short Term Fund and BPI Money Market Fund. So, i cant assess those. :(

sis yung bpi short term fund at money market fund is a conservative type of investment low risk-low return but mas ok sya kaysa sa banko mo ilalagay yung pera mo.

^ahhh. i see. if conservative yung dalawang yun. i might not choose those siguro. gusto ko na din kasi maging risk taker. hehe. slight lang. HAHA.

so, tama ba sis na i'll choose the PEIF over PSIF and PHDEF?

ang naaalala ko pala is...BPI Equity Value Fund yung meron ang friends ko. how's the comparison of the four ba? from based on the experiences ng mga sis natin dito? pahelp po. thanks.

^i have an existing Joint account with hubby so married name ang nakapasok doon.

then nag open ako ng settlement account (ATM) and UITF using my maiden name. nung nag enroll nako for online banking, ni reject ng main office kasi hindi daw pwede pagsamahin sa 1 online portfolio ang joint, atm,  uitf and even my old checking account. kasi nga iba ang pangalan.

^sis, sorry to hear about your bad experience with BPI. Ako naman super love ko sila. It helps to have a relationship manager. Do u have one?

I don't fall in line cause I go straight to our relationship manager. She takes care setting appointments whenever I need to speak with a financial advisor. She even goes as far as dropping documents to our place if ever she passes by haha. She lets me take home forms so that I can have hubby sign them. She emails me when there are offers of corporate bond investments and now I'm asking her to look for foreclosed properties for us :)

I feel at home whenever I go to the 2 BPI branches near our place lol

Pag sa preferred client may na-assign na relationship manager. Otherwise, wala.

Online banking really differentiates between maiden and married name. I think that's a security measure.
I used to have 2 accounts just so I can have immediate access kasi nga ayaw ma-add sa maiden online account yung mga married bank accounts.

When I finally had the time to change from maiden to married, they made me choose one online account (maiden one) and merged the rest there.

UITF di ko pa magawa haha the online RAF does not match what I want to get ::)

In my experience, di lang siya sa amount of funds but also no. of years and products you avail from them.

I've been a BPI customer since HS days. I have SA, CA, and CC accounts with them created over the years. Nadagdagan pa with joint accounts after getting married.

They called to make me preferred due to 1 of my maiden account that is around 5 years old reaching the fund requirement (and being able to maintain it) for about 2 years.

I asked if I can make our joint accounts preferred din but they said we can request the bank manager to nominate us after our accounts become 1 y.o

Maybe you can try that too but yun nga, may antay factor.

Thanks for sharing, m_lim. Ako rin, increasingly becoming dissatisfied with BPI. When I tried opening a UITF account, they couldn't link my 10-year-old savings account to the new one. Same names lahat yun ha. They required me to open new account pa.

Someone would call me about it and then say they're going to cancel it because I don't remember it anymore (dahil sa tagaaal na mula nung nag-apply ako). A few days later, I would get a call about it again asking if I want to continue it. Bahala sila.

This is a bit more personal, but the new batch of tellers at the branches I frequent are either lacking in training or in customer service. Yung isa, wala man lang greeting, tapos direcho tingin sa phone after doing the transaction. Yung isang matabang lalaki naman, parang ayaw gawin yung trabaho niya, tapos nakatutok sa kanya yung electric fan that's meant for customers.
