Hindi mo mararamdaman yun.
The price(NAV) is already net of taxes and fees.

I opened BPI Mutual Fund account and UITF 7months ago and so far my MF earned 1.5% while UITF earned 9%sometimes 12% :o  but since new palang ako in investment that time i put more funds sa MF because less risk. Now that I'm into stocks na narealize ko na i should've invested more in UITF or invest regularly. I just subscribed on thier RSP i had to update my risk profile first  ;D

Equity index is different from equity fund? Yun equity index under ng BPI Index Fund while yun Equity fund under ng BPI Investment funds? Nalilito ako sa kanila.

BPI Index Funds (all types) -- Just tracks the index that is its benchmark. For example, the BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund has the same composition as the PSEi, so its performance should be nearly the same as the PSEi's. This is not actively managed.

BPI Equity Value Fund - This one is actively managed by BPI's fund managers. It has so far always underperformed the index, which says a lot about the skills of the fund managers. Masmaganda pa performance nung not-managed index fund.

BPI Philippine High Dividend Equity Fund -- This one mentioned by fastlove is composed more of stocks that pay out dividends like PLDT, SM, BPI, Meralco, Globe, and etc.

^Yes, sis, iba-iba. Check mo listahan ng BPI ng funds nila: https://www.bpiassetmanagement.com/pages/products-services-directory/

Actually, maiksi yang 3-5 years ha, lalo na ngayon na peakish ang equities. Make it maybe at least 5-7 or up to 10 years. Historically, the Philippine Stock Index Fund is the best performer among BPI equity funds, but marami na sila ibang products. Parang maganda rin pasukin yung mga European, Asia/Pacific, Emerging Market funds nila (you are invested in international companies, not just Philippine ones), but aaralin ko pa.

^Congrats on finishing the house construction!

When I started years ago, I put in whatever extra I had. If I had 1k, it went into Philequity. If I had 25k, it all went into Philequity too. Kasi kapag hindi ko ma-invest, for sure may lalabas na ibang pagkakagastusan yun. Maybe you're more disciplined than I am and can do cost-averaging. I for sure couldn't do it. :D

I also have to say that it was also a bit of beginner's luck on my part that I invested in equity funds when I did. If you look at the PSEi's performance starting 2009, it was the start of the most dazzling bull market the PSEi has ever seen. Wala pa ako kaalam-alam about bull/bear markets noon, kaya swerte talaga. I imagine if I started in 2006-2007, sobrang madidiscourage siguro ako from investing after the crash in 2008.

^Sis, in BPI's Regular Subscription Plan (RSP), a certain amount of money will be deducted from your savings account at a date that you set and automatically invested in the fund of your choosing. For example, you may choose to have 1,000 deducted from your account on the 15th of every month to be invested in the BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund.

^If you need to be reminded to invest regularly in the fund of your choosing, then go ahead, enroll in the RSP. But if you already have the discipline, there is no need.

You can either print the forms online and submit it to the bank, or go to the bank, ask for forms, and fill them out there. Same banana.

Philippine Stock Index Fund (PSIF) - This one is managed by ALFM and sold through BPI.

BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund - Managed by BPI fund managers. Also just very recently launched in May 2013, so it has no historical performance yet like ALFM's PSIF.

Both funds' year-on-year and year-to-date performances are underperforming the index. The PSIF has the edge in that it has history showing that it's beaten the index, but only by a marginal <1% each year.

But the advantage in investing in these funds is that there are no sales load charges, and if you choose the BPI-managed one, no holding periods too. And, of course, the added convenience, ease of use, and wide access (mobile and internet) for us who already have banking history with BPI.
